So, yes. I just joined oh... a few days ago. And I found myself wondering, how many of you like Fatal Frame? How many of you actually know what it is? Fatal Frame was my very first fandom, and it will always be my #1. So, how many fellow FF fans are there lurking around here? Also, if you don't know what Fatal Frame is either go to it's special wiki; http://www.cameraslens.com/fatalframewi ... =Main_Page or go here; http://www.cameraslens.com/ -- The best site for information on anything and everything Fatal Frame related. Sadly it's being remodeled at the moment so you won't find much there, but once it's fully up and running you can find just about anything there. BONUS TOPIC, W00T! While we're on the subject of Fatal Frame, what do you Framers think about the up-and-coming Fatal Frame IV!? =O Known/Rumored Information - Exclusive to the Wii. - It's title is supposedly "Tsukihami no Kamen" or "Mask of the Lunar Eclipse". - Official image colour is "yellow". - Official keywords are "moon", "mask" and "memory". - Based from the images below it appears the game will take place in a more westernized mansion as opposed to the traditional Japanese style mansions/houses that the previous games featured. Images (spoilered for space-saving and just in case people don't want to see them quite yet) Spoiler: Main Character Spoiler: The Mansion Spoiler: Piano Spoiler: Dim Hallway Spoiler: Mirror Spoiler: Masked Ghost |

I've only played the first but it's pretty cool. I get freaked out whenever the controller starts rumbling, I'll admit. :( |

I always want to finish these games with 100% but as always I'm to scared to go again. I always wonder why they gave it the name Project Zero. Don't the people who doing the naming for PAL versions know the different from the project name and the actual series name? *keep on repeating the phrases "A rope. There a rope" over and over...* |

o.o Zero is the original Japanese name of the series. It goes; Project Zero (Fatal Frame), Zero: Akai Chou (Fatal Frame: Crimson Butterfly), and Zero: Shisei no Koe (Fatal Frame: The Tormented). Which... I have a bone to pick with the translation team, actually. Shisei no Koe = Voice of the Tattoo =/= THE TORMENTED! >.> Buttwhipes. XD Anywho, I absolutely LOVE your avatar/sig. So brilliant. Also, Lobster-san... I suggest you try to play Fatal Frame II. XD I tried playing the first one first. I couldn't get ANYWHERE. Then I tried the second one and beat it before going back to the first. The second one isn't as scary as the other two. But then, that's simply my opinion. |

The first one is called Zero. Project Zero is the whole series name thing. |

XD yeaaaaaaah, it gets confusing. They should have just kept the original names. So, here's a question! ^_^ How long've you been playing? I've been playing for about three years now. O.o about. I met my best friend through the fandom. |

Let see around 2002 I think. I first played the first one as a rental. I wanted the game but I had trouble trying to get it for two Christmases. I finally got it on the 3rd or 4th Christmas. I had to play my bro xbox version so I can play and beat it. |

XD Wow. That's a long time. I didn't even play the games before I got into the fandom. I researched them like crazy until I could finally rent one, lol! |

I've played all 3 versions so far. Haven't got a Wii yet but I might get it to scare the crap out of friends if they come over :P It's rather cool they're still making one after a long (and I mean long) hiatus... |

Ooooh, I know. I honestly thought they were ending it with the third one. Then they announced the fourth and I just about had a heart attack. XD My friend and I are wondering, though... XD how long are they gonna keep making them? Not like we're complaining or anything, but... if it becomes as big/ridiculous as the Final Fantasy series I might just punch Tecmo. |

Beaten all 4. All at least 8 times, except the first which I only beat twice. I beat the...second one about 12 times, the third about 13 times and the fourth...a good 14 times now. Beaten the second on Hard, working on Hard on 3 and 4... Still hating the first one. These are, like, the only games I can beat properly anymore. <3 & </3 Kusabi. </3</3</3 Kirie. <3 Sae. </3 Reika. <3</3 Sakuya. |

I've never played these games, but I've heard of them. Frankly, I'm way to scared to play. I watched the intro movie with my cousin when she was playing, and I started screaming like 20 seconds into the game. I'm really a big scaredy cat. (This was Crimson Butterfly.) |

I played all three and can't wait for the 4th Fatal Frame to come to the U.S. did you know that Suda 51 helped in developing the new one? I never did get full completion on the ghosts lists in all three games though I did play on Hard in FF2 just to get some of the costumes. |

The first one was actually by far the worst. I hated the controls on it >.> They did fairly improve that since then, but...the running is still at snail-speed. Actually, I'm fairly sure the girls in the fourth one run SLOWER than Miku did in the first one. And RE ghost list completion I completed the one for the third game...and there's a bug in the fourth where you still get the extras even though there are 10 or more ghosts you can't photograph, so it's like a free reward :P I'm, like, 90% done with 4's, 97% with 1's, 96% with 2's and 100% with 3's. |

BUMP. Fatal Frame's a great series. People just don't like it because they either don't know about it; think the whole concept of fighting ghosts with a camera is stupid; think it's "too girly" (one of the weakest arguments I've ever heard in regards to the games); or think it's not good because of bad advertising among other things. Frankly, this is (obviously) one of my favorite game series. The first game I played was the third one, though. Hell, the intro alone freaked me out enough and I just got curious enough to research the games and eventually got hooked. Out of all the games, my favorite has got to be the second one, Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly. I don't care if it's overrated; it has a good story, good boss ghosts, lots of cinematic cutscenes, and HOT HOT TWINS. And I agree that the first one is the worst. The ghosts were more "in-your-face", true, but the controls were just plain annoying. So far my most hated Miku movement is when a ghost is chasing her and you try to make her go up the stairs for safety... then she turns around and goes back DOWN again. Ugh. Sadly I haven't played the fourth game yet because 1) I don't have a Wii; and 2) damn Nintendo won't let Tecmo export the game. But I do watch videos of it on YouTube and it looks pretty awesome, even though I'm on the fence about Tecmo replacing the Japanese buildings with a very western abandoned hospital and sanatorium. At least the ghost nurses are awesome. So those are my two cents. I might post here again if this topic is resurrected. So yeah. MIO AMAKURA = <3 |

I love fatal frame. I love the whole horror video game genre in general, but fatal frame never fails to have me on edge. The only thing is that I've only beaten the third one This was because I rented the first two through a rental store and only have 5 days with it (didn't even get to play that much). I'll get back to that sooner or later. Anyway, I absolutely loved the third one. Especially the end. I actually consider it one of the best video game endings ever Seeing as how it made me cry a waterfall >.>I haven't seen or heard much about the fourth one, but I don't have a Wii so I doubt I'll be playing it. I do recall, however, that it might actually not be released in the states at all
