Anyone else a fan of this awesome, awesome series? For those unfamiliar with it, the only US release (EarthBound, or, Mother 2) is about a young boy named Ness (the same one from Super Smash Bros, yes), who discovers he's 1/4th of the world's hope against an upcoming universal cosmic destroyer. So he goes on an adventure to collect the other 3/4th, and stop by a few Your Sanctuary locations. Along the way, he stops through a variety of places, from places run over by gangs, to a town of people obsessed with the color blue (those would be the Happy Happyists, which explains my title), to a town full of weird little creatures all with the name Mr. Saturn (see avatar and signature). It's basically awesome in ways you don't really look for in games, like its dialogue, and quirky enemies and settings.

It's a good series. Not great by any means, but definately fun and entertaining for the most part. The oddball settings, characters and creatures, and the overall sense of surrealism are cool, too. The only bad aspect I can think of is the rather boring battle system.

Aw, c'mon, you have to admit the rolling meters made for a better and more hectic battle system than most other systems of its era. :P

Wow. A somewhat novel addition to the otherwise VERY dated Dragon Warrior battle system.

What made Earthbound was it's simplistic storyline and atmosphere, NOT the gameplay.

I actually imported Mother 3 - since it's said to be downright *amazing*

I still haven't gotten time to play it, which is rather sad =(

Not a fan. I enjoyed it for the most part, but once I put it down, I felt a rush of relief that I could move on.

Nice atmosphere, for the most part, though.
