There was a bit of a board invasion yesterday, and in the war to delete all of the incoming topics spamming "Desu" over and over, the Cough-Up thread seems to have been deleted by mistake.

I've got a backup of the forums, I'll see if I can't recover 'some' of the thread when I get the chance.

... speaking of which, the last time I made a backup was one week after we opened. *Scurrys off to the admin panel*

Well, here's the tricky part.

Compressed, the backup file is a few megs. Have you tried to open up a text file that large? It's not easy. The computer fights it. When I can get the backup to a computer that can open it, and not crash, I'll have to identify the thread ID and gather all the post data from it. It's more technical limitations then anything else.

Nakuten those questions were answered on the previous page of this thread. Please read back.

It's rather simple but no, it is not legal, and therefore I can't tell you where to get the rom.

If you're using the full reply, there's a spoiler button at the top of the page. To do one manually, you'll have to type out the tags. So this:

Code:
[spoiler=]This is a spoiler.[/spoiler]

Will come out like this;

Spoiler:
This is a spoiler.

It varies by forum, though basically it goes like this;

Admins are those who are generally in charge of the site/forum. They usually have exclusive access to stuff like the board code and member info, and have full power over the members.

Moderators are typically the watch dogs of the forums, who regulate the members and keep away trolls and such. Some forums assign mods to specific sections, though most nowadays just give them free reign over the whole board. The Mods don't typically have most Admin powers, like access to board/site code and whatnot.

Global Mods are merely Moderators who can freely mod over the whole board, though again, they're usually the same thing nowadays.

That basically covers it. It still varies by forum, though, so everything I said may not directly apply here.

You're right, for the most part. But I think you're confusing Administrator with WebMaster/Maintainer/Whatever. For instance, hypothetically, I opted you up to an admin. You could change forum settings, decide what people can access and what not... But you couldn't edit the source code, the CSS files you can, as there's a GUI for it, but the template and root files are off limits. You'd need FTP access to touch them, and on top of that you'd need special access to the MySQL admin panel if you wanted to do some... 'special' edits.

The Scanlation team is the people working translating the manga. There's a special subforum for it so that we don't get all sorts of people posting in the threads and confusing things.

As I can't work computers at all, I have a quick question. How do you reduce the file size of a picture? From, say, 3808 Bites to within the rules? Is it even possible from a size that large? I'm assuming that's large. I'm gonna go get Computers for Dummies from the library... Sadshoe

*edit*
Huh? According to my maths, which is also awful, my avatar is within File Size rules, yet the UCP won't let me post it... Actually, it's probably my maths that's wrong.

I'm not sure what you're asking, Impulse. If the picture is too big, you gotta...make it smaller...with a graphics program. :P

BTW (but not really)

Anyone who wants their name changed just has to ask an admin.

Yeah, I know how to make it smaller (which I'll do once I'm on the PC. I'm making this post through the power of my miiiind. Or a Mac), but is there any way to reduce the File Size, i.e the amount of KB? Is it linked to how big the picture is, because after posting it in the 'Post Anything' thread, I've noticed that it's a lot bigger than I thought.

You should check the resolution and quality of the picture. If resolution is 300 it's better to reduce it to 72, or from 72 to 50. It reduces the file size a lot.

I have a question about the postcount ranks.
Is there a topic somewhere that tells you how many posts you need to have to get certain rank?

There isn't a need for one, really. All the post count and post rank numbers are pretty straightforward. Here's a list of all the normal member ranks and their respective post count.

0 posts - Suspect
50 posts - Desk Jockey
150 posts - Decisive Witness
300 posts - Medium-in-Training
600 posts - Prosecutor
1000 posts - Ace Attorney

No, but if you look through the last few pages of "New Smilies" thread, Happiness Punch!, yes the smiley queen herself, gives a very precise step-by-step of how to make them on photoshop or fireworks.

A scanlator is someone who's helping to localize the PW manga from Japanese to English.

A donor is someone who's donated money to the site to help keep it running.

I was wondering...

What's the link to the original forums?

I know it was posted somewhere a while back, but I've looked all over, and I just can't seem to find it. :[

Sorry if it's some blatantly obvious place that I overlooked. :d

Actually... ROMS are legal...

If you own the original game... it is legal... should I add an "Objection" to the beginning of the post or something? XD

Oh, and at the beginning of the post, it states that the Patch is on that website... I checked, they are no longer providing it... Is there an update somewhere?

Yeah, it totally stinks that you have to pay for things. :maggy:

If you're planning on playing a rom anyway just find the DS one. But don't ask for it on this forum because that's against the rules.
