A Phoenix Wright anime would be very nice. I can see it working out the same way as the Professor Layton movies. I think it has great potential to become something good.

Still, whoever wants to make it can screw it up as well. Although Valkyria Chronicles (one of my favourite games) got an anime adaptation, I didn't quite like it.

Who do you think should be the voice actors in PW: the anime?

Daisuke Sakaguchi as Larry.
Norio Wakamoto as Gant.

I'd say Hiroshi Kamiya for Phoenix. He's a diversive voice actor anyway.

And it would be very neat if SHAFT actually did this. SZS is my favourite anime and I just love basically any show they make.

In any case, Nana Mizuki has to voice Maya. She also voiced her in the commercial for the DS remakes, and since she's one of the best female anime voice actresses out there, this should be obligatory.

As for opening themes... I have an obsession with making up Anime-opening-sequences for Games I like with songs on my I-Pod.

I have already picked openings for all of the Phoenix centric games... they all happen to be by Nana Mizuki :maya:

That would be double awesome, because that would basically mean that Maya is singing the theme songs. XD

Anyway, the songs I picked are:

GS1 : Justice to believe (Lol, obvious title is obvious. Still, it's the one I'm the most unsure about. Especially because the lyrics don't fit that much. They'd encourage Nick-Edgey shippers... X-x)

GS2: Jyuujika no Spread (Yeah, I know, it's already the opening of some other game, but I can't help but connect that song to JfA. The music just fits the mood of the game perfectly, in my opinion and I already have the whole Intro-sequence pictured out... I could even draw it.)

GS3: Don't be long (The song could be about the game. I mean it. It fits perfectly. The lyrics, the music... I imagine Dahlia standing there with her finger at a gun's trigger during the song's last line. Love it.)

For AJ... uhm... probably "Protection" but I'm not sure. That would be even more pushing Hobo-Phoenix into the limelight, since the lyrics, from what I understand (about 50%) fit him more than anyone else in the game... Well, at least the second line starts with "Odoroku" :odoroki:

I am inclined to suggest "Undercover" (also by Nana Mizuki) for AAI. Dunno, I just think it fits. It's calmer than the other songs, fitting seeing how Edgey is calmer than Nick.

As for Outros, didn't think too much about them yet, but there are two songs which I would love to see used there, both by "School Food Punishment" (a japanese Post-Rock Band)

First Flow, also known as "Over/Flow", when the long intro of the song is played. I don't know, but everytime I listen to that song, I have to think of Phoenix' disbarring for some reason. I can almost feel his carefully built career impolding in itself. But that's probably just my imagination.

The second one is so~ not gonna happen, because it's already another Anime's ending theme:
"Futuristic Imagination" from the anime "Eden of the East".
...The second line starts with "Mayoidasu" --> :maya:
Hey, I can dream! XD

Anyway, that are the songs which, in my opinion, would make good intros/outros.

Those are some great pics, Neni! 'Don't be long' and 'protection' would fit in real wel, IMO.

Maybe that one would be a nice ED. Nanoka Ai sounds like she could voice Maya or Pearls (or Trucy, but I doubt Apollo Justice is going to get priority) as well, but that might just be me.

Thanks! ^^

Yeay, a good J-Pop song! I'm always glad to find new songs! Thanks! ^^

Nanoka should do Pearly. :pearl:

Why? because we need NANA to do Maya! :maya:

Seriously, everyone who has seen that commercial would surely agree with me. ^^

Topic title misleads :[

It's like as if Capcom is trying EVERYTHING it can to not make an AA anime - they've released manga, animated and/or voiced trailers and promos, and now the animation in the crossover game.

Seriously, I'm tired of the teasing! I want my Ace Attorney anime, or I'm going to cry.

Yes, it would be marvelous for a PW anime to be created! I'm sure it would charge up the masses like the Ace Attorney Movie did! A anime of PW has so much potential, I mean they already have a manga and game out! Finally, I'm pretty sure Capcom would profit if this was to happened. :phoenix:

Well, apart from the fact that a studio must be interested in doing it, it's far from impossible but still something a tad complicated. But we've all seen adaptations of games into anime, and I specially take as an example Persona 4 The animation. It's on of the best if not THE best I've seen (Hack has too, but didn't like it that much).

I can see Takumi being an advisor or director of this project. This is something I woulnd't see working without the hand of Takumi working a little bit around... and I doubt he'll let Ghot Trick go for a bit... he did say he was interested in working on GS related stuff due to fan support in places he said didn't expect (Spain). But then again he said he wanted to work on projrctd of his own... so yeah, I see a GS anime coming but not soon.
Thanks. It was, is and always will be a pleasure.

I think the main obstacle to making a successful Ace Attorney anime series is the fact that it mustn't be boring. We have the whole concept of interactivity, after all, and that's why it's so interesting to play the games. With an anime, you don't get that kind of interactivity, since it's a standard Sender > Message (Medium) > Receiver type of communication process.

To put it simply, how the heck can they pull off the testimonies and cross-examinations without boring the audience to death?

Now I realize they were able to do this in the live-action film, but since I haven't seen it yet I've no idea if the same formula can apply to an anime series. Movies are around 90 minutes long usually, but with anime episodes you have to make every 23 minutes of the viewer's time worth it.

So yeah. I'd LOVE if there were an Ace Attorney anime, since the animation in the PL vs. AA game looks beast, but I have doubts on whether it'll work. Just my two cents.

Same way Dragon Ball Z, Bleach, and Naruto were/are so popular. Intense music, unnecessary action whenever possible, crazy hair, and the right voices.

As much as that point is valid (and believe me, it is), the main difference between AA and the series you mentioned is that they're action-packed to begin with, what with all the fight scenes and such. And like I already said, the live-action film was able to find an effective way to make the court scenes interesting, and this method can be used in a prospective animated series as well, but since I haven't even seen the movie yet I have no idea how they pulled it off.

I think that each case could be divided into several episodes. With 14 cases for Phoenix Wright :phoenix: , 4 for Apollo Justice :odoroki: , and 10 for Miles Edgeworth :edgeworth: , you at least have 28 episodes minimum. If each case is broken up into 2-3 episodes, it could work.

The live-action movie was fantastic and was very close to the games. An anime series could be even more faithful, utilizing as many episodes as necessary to tell the story. With the great success of the movie, I think that an anime series is more likely now than it was a few years ago. Who knows? Perhaps in a few years we'll see something. Its all up to Takumi-san. :jake:

Then what would you thing about a 'in court dark world' setting with a sorta Death Note vibe to it? The 3 day system relating to high crime rates could create a dark and serious atmosphere within the courts. Even without the action scenes, that thriller vibe within the court (the defendant is always being put on the spot, which makes phoenix anxious). Add those over the top animations from Death Note (like writing scenes) to the gestures made in court and voila, suspense!
The 'outside world' could have a lighter feel to it, much like the games. Various locations, different people and the investigations. The build up can be done here in the anime, just like the games.

A possible scenario, others would probably work too. The thing is that nobody will accept a half-assed job. Mainstream won't be interested and fans will be disappointed. High risks and a likely low profit scenario is what makes me dread such an anime will never see the light of day.
Face your emptiness don't be afraid. The danger is often smaller than your fear.
