well when I made a slam dunk topic all that I got was a reply form my little brother and someone saying "I dunno a baseballl anime seems dumb." so now I'm seeing if anyone else appreciates a different takehiko inoue work. I'm not exaggerating when I say this is one of the best series ever. Inoue is just amazing and draws the most beautiful manga ever the fight scenes are drawn well enough to be hung in a museum. However art doesn't make a manga it's the story right? Well the story is another "epic journey" so to speak of someone traveling to become the strongest. However the depth inoue gives to the characters makes the go above some average shounen muck. It's also based on an old japanese novel but inoue himself changes quite a bit and by now he even said he thinks he made his own version of "miyamoto musashi." I don't know how to really describe it so if you like manga AT ALL just do yourself a favor and check this out.
