Yes, it's a comedy classic. If you like that you will probably also like BLACK BOOKS if that shows in France at all.

Yeah, Ted went to all that work of deciding who should get a parachute, and Jack just used a parachute for himself and the package of alcohol. And then he got stuck in a tree! That was a great episode!

Just last night I saw A Christmassy Ted, which is an hour long.

I love Father Ted, Mrs Doyle is awesome, I love the Christmas episode when she falls from the window.
And the one where the guy who plays Victor Meldrew in One Foot in the Grave appears.
Can anyone tell me what the name of the plane episode was?

I'm very fond of the "Nazi Priest" episode even though it's terribly politically incorrect. It's partly due to the fact that I adore the actor playing the father of the Chinese family as he has appeared in many UK sit coms and is a brilliant comedian.

British comedy is not Angin unlike the American sitcom culture though I do love a bit of Friends and Curb your Enthusiasm.
Black Books, Father Ted, Fawlty Towers, The Office, Peep Show and Extras are classics.

Don't forget the Young Ones and One Foot in the Grave. :D
Hmm...I like the bit in the one with the guy from One Foot in the Grave where Mrs Doyle and her friend want to pay for a meal and they end up fighting over it. XD

I am currently a fan of TittyBangBang although like The Fast Show, it is an acquired taste.

Green Wing is also worth a watch if it appears on US TV at all.

Father Ted, is one of the most brilliant comedies to ever skip across the pond.

My personal favorite epiosodes are the ones where Ted, Jack and Dougal go on a vacation in the country, or the one where they take a trip to the main land and Ted gets beaten up by the star of "One Foot in the Grave.

Classic stuff, simply classic.

Father Ted's not British.

Good point, but it does bare several similarities to the British style of comedy.

Oh yeah, and I also love the "Nazi Priest" episode. As for it being politically incorrect, the whole series often is.

Father Ted was produced by British people and networks (originally shown on Channel 4) but written by some irish fella's.

So, despite the fact it's written by Irish people, the actor's are mostly if not all Irish, the theme song was done by an Irish band, set in Ireland, and the Craggy Island shots were all shot in Ireland, it's still a British show?

The Christmas episode is good, but is on every single Christmas.. gets a bit repetitive. The end though is brilliant when she gets that tea machine she hated in the shop XD!

Unfortunately, it's not played on any stations around here anymore. I had been watching more of it on TV Links before it got shut down. ^_^; I wish I could buy a box set or something, but I haven't found one yet. Maybe I'll try Best Buy.

Well if you can wait until Feb 19'th, then BBC Home Video will be re-releasing the entire series in one special edition box set.

Last time I checked many Irish people live in Britain. Ireland and Britain also share a lot in terms of media, industry, music and television. Don't be Angin' I can clutch at straws all day.

Actually almost everyone in my school is part Irish in some way or another. It is a Catholic school, so the proportions will be slightly more unbalanced than in the rest of the population, but I'm guessing there is still a very large Irish Population In Britain.
