Yes, it's true, I just saw an trailer for a new Star Wars.
Now get this, it's all CG! What?!?!
It's set during the Clone Wars, and it's in the style of the Clone Wars cartoon thing that was going on a while back.
From what I can see from the trailer Yoda sends Anakin to rescue Jabba's son... WHAT THE!?!?!?!?
Yes, it looks like that is the story... and all CG.

I saw it during the trailers before Kung-Fu Panda BTW.
What do you all think about this? Has anyone else seen this? Know anything more? Share it here!

Someone's behind on their news. There's been info on this for quite some time... although I haven't heard of a trailer.

I don't go to movies or watch TV much.
Here is the trailer BTW.

Edit: The flash code fails for this so I'll just link it.

I've known about this for a while.

I agree that they should move on to something else now, but I still want to see it.
Just to... see it.
Yes, I'm a Star Wars fan...

They're milking SW a bit too much, but as long as it's something good, I don't mind.

That's what I was thinking.
I was figuring they would do something earlier in the Star Wars universe next, show more of the history of the Jedi.
Or even go to after the current story line to show what came after Vader died.
But this? And you know how it came about? Lucas was watching the cartoons on a big screen and decided to make a movie leading up to the story in the cartoons.
MORE PREQUELS!?!? Isn't there something to be said about not dwelling in the past?

And I'll probably see it too.

We could see it together. ^^

...Don't be mean to Anakin, I like him.
Actually, what I don't like about SW are all the too many games.
Movies, ok, for now.

There's nothing wrong with Anakin, he's just getting overused.
Let's take a look.
I: We have little Anakin.
II: We have teen age Anakin.
III: We have young adult Anakin/birth of Vader.
IV: We have Vader/Anakin.
V: Moar Vader/Anakin.
VI: Vader "dies", Anakin comes back and dies.

The only other character who has been in every movie is Obewan and for half of them he's already dead and only comes up from time to time!
I think Anakin needs a rest.

You got me there, they fall into the comic relief section though, plus they last just about as long at that demonic rabbit forever. They don't really... how to put it... HOG ALL THE ATTENTION! :-P
They just kinda sit there and make us laugh. Anakin just emos.

The clone wars cartoon was actually better then the damn prequels it was supposed to be hyping up for.

Yeah, This movie COULD be good- but they really screwed up making a 'Theatrical release' a 'straight-to-DVD-and-Blu-Ray' could have sufficed. That said, I wish they would have kept it Animated because CGI sucks nowadays.

Oh wait, did you say this is a movie about Anakin rescuing Jabba's son? Screw it, this IS gonna suck. :P

Yeah... there are only a number of things left that may or may not come out dealing with Star Wars that I will touch:

-That live-action series revolving around Boba Fett in between Episode III and Episode IV.

-Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

-Another Star Wars: KotOR game.

I've known about the new Star Wars for a while, but when I found out I flipped. I work at a movie theatre part-time. The problem with Star Wars where I live is the same problem we have with super hero movies...

This is truly a distrace.

First a cartoon, then a movie about the cartoon, then a cartoon following the movie about the SAME STUPID WAR, which, by the way, we know how it'll end and who dies. There's no suspense to it at all.

That was also another problem with the prequels.

Go on to something different.

That said, I always wanted Star Wars to remain that six, solid, classic movies. Twenty years from now fanboys will keep shut about this one.

I shouldn't talk now, though, it might be good, but I doubt it.

As long as Lucas gets his money.

Wow... the graphics look poor to me. They look like something you might see in a video game from the next generation, not from a CGI movie.

That's what I was thinking.. When I saw the trailer all I could think of was how I REALLY didn't like the art style. :yuusaku:

I can stand the looks as they based it after the cartoon (and stay pretty true to them also).

However, I sense this will be like the Star Wars Holiday Special. Every Star Wars Nerd sees it, after they see it, they never acknowledge it ever again.

Star Wars: Episode II,
Star Wars Episode III,

Hmm... I'm not a full-on Star Wars fan (though I just watched a long documentary about the history of Star Wars on the History channel XD) but I was a bit meh about this movie. First, as others have mention, I found the art style annoying. I was expecting it to be the cartoon style that the short clone wars episodes showed on Cartoon Network (I actually liked those). There's a couple things bugging me about this movie besides the art style, because I got used to that after a bit. Here's a few points:
- The narration at the beginning: WTF? I was expecting words to scroll up on the screen, and suddenly we get this guy with the voice of an old Saturday Morning Cartoon announcer summing everything up. I tried not to laugh...
- Suspense: I couldn't really feel much sympathy or anything for most of the characters because this movie seemed a bit too "light", probably to connect with a younger audience. Although I agree that it's good to attract the younger generation into Star Wars so the fanbase doesn't dry up, I would expect a storyline that would be worthy of an in-theater movie. This plot was more suited for a direct-to-DVD release.
- I liked the baby Jaba... thing (spl?). I found it kinda cute. However, as I mentioned before, it really wasn't enough of a plot to drive a movie that I payed to see in theaters.

But, it was pretty enjoyable to just kind of see how the story's laid out, and how everyone would look in that bizarre art style (my little brother, who thinks he's a cool "die-hard" Star-Wars fan, ruined the experience for me anyways because he NEVER SHUTS UP during a movie and thinks that he sounds cool if he laughs at every little joke they throw out... <_< *sigh*)

I just watched it.
It was what I expected, a cartoon extended into a movie. =\

But I do have to say it was entertaining. Not (anywhere near) the best movie, but it did what it was supposed to in the end, entertain.

If this was a star wars forum you would of just opened yourself to a world of flame for that kind of statement.
