Alright, I'll be watching Bartender soon.

EDIT: Alright, so after watching this, it's a very deep anime which just somehow keeps you interested with all the characters and drinks served at Eden Hall. I like it.

Good question. I'm wondering about that too. Anyone care to answer that?

Don't make me start finishing it for you again, HH.

It won't be pretty, you're going to like some serious shit.

Like your favorite show is going to be Evangelion.

Because HH is the biggest eva fan ever. Seriously, In HH's opinion, if you don't understand and love Eva, it's impossible to ever be happy, go to heaven, or live.

Also, to HH, every incarnation of Eva is awesome. Even Evangelion the coffee, the lunchbox and the lions.

Wasn't the whole point of this topic to discuss only anime that matters so that we as a community could join one another in love, peace, and harmony and that stupid mess? Seriously, if we don't get along right now, then this topic sucks.

I noticed how a couple "mainstream" animes, Dragonball and Fullmetal Alchemist, were left out of Holey Hell's list of will never be includeds, while not being huge fans of either, I am being more inclined towards the latter. And them not on the list of never be includeds, is likely just an oversight (my guess) or HH does in fact have them on her(?) list.

The Fullmetal Alchemist anime is a dreadful thing. I'm a big fan of the manga, so all of the liberties it took on thematics, storylines, and its inability to follow a cohesive narrative were pretty bad. Even if I wasn't a fan of the FMA manga, it'd still be pretty bad, actually. It was a melodramatic, vapid mess.

Dragonball is only okay. It had a very strong start and for a while it sure was good. Dragonball Z is basically where it got bad for me. Dr. Slump is Toriyama's real masterpiece. He is a much better comedian than he is an action storyteller.

I recently got it... i'm 6 episodes in, and it is certainly good... in a strange way.

Why have you not seen it yet? God, Eva is like anime puberty. You can't truly appreciate anime until you've tasted the horror that is Eva. :nick:

Anyway, I'm late to this thread, and since I don't feel like committing to a long, drawn-out anime like bleach or naruto, it's good to have some recommendations. I anxiously await further (list-furthering) posts. I'm not sure I agree with leaving out what is basically most popular anime. but this is, at the core, your opinion. So whatever.

I might check out Bartender and Armored Trooper Votoms. The latter I've seen since they sell VHS's of the episodes for a dollar outside the local Hastings. I always wondered what it was like....

Because I have basically no monies with which to buy Eva, I have no working sound card with which to view Eva over the interwebs, and it has never to my knowledge aired on British television.

Haha, to be honest I do like it quite a bit. I'm disappointed at a few things it skipped over to avoid being redundant (things the first anime somewhat covered), but it'll all be okay when it starts getting into 100% newly animated territory, such as Ling!

I very much like seeing one of my currently favorite ongoing series properly adapted and animated.

THIS! I was tremendously disappointed by the last half of the 1st FMA series. :payne:

So now we can finally see it as it was meant to be seen. :edgy:

And maybe we'll finally get to see the guys from Xing! :sparkly-maggey:

some of the lesser known ones are really good, such as some of the ones listed here. however, mainstream does not always automatically equal bad, there are exceptions although it usually does...
