Azula's craziness was the best part of it. I loved the logic that she used on the Dai Li.
Dai Li: We will never betray you!
Azula: And that's what you said to Long Feng right before you betrayed him and joined me! Bibi.
Best scene was with her mother, though. That is her character, right there, fully exposed.

And steelsushi, Azula couldn't have melted the chains or anything 'cause to use firebending, you have to be able to move your hands and stuff to let the fire out of there. No hand-moving = no fire. Although why Azula had to go into close-range fighting with Kitara, I have no idea -_-'

I was kinda surprised at the amount of Kitara/Zuko fluff in the end (not just the movie, but the past couple of episodes). I found it kinda funny since her main relationship was obviously with Aang.

The spirit-bending was a bit of a deus ex machina. I wish they hadn't made the Lion Turtle's voice so bassy so I could've actually understood it T_T Once I finally understood what happened (after the blue/orange lightshow), I thought they were going to have some stupid kiddie show "i made all ur evilz go out of j00! yay!" explanation, but just removing his firebinding was nice and elegant.

But there's just one thing I don't get: How come the mole couldn't track down Aang when he was on the Lion Turtle? I mean seriously.

I thought the series ended well, tho. Need moar deaths, tho =\ (Deaths in the series finale give super-boosts to epicness!)

Agreed

Spoiler:
However, if this was a more adult cartoon, Azula would have beaten the servant for the cherry pit thing.
God, she's awesome.

I really liked how the Avatar movie turned out. But only liked, when in all honesty I wanted to 'love'. Wow that sounded cheesy, but it's true. The animation was amazing, the music really added to the movie, and to me, the whole thing seemed a bit more adult than usual. But there was a lot I think could have been done differently, and one of the biggest things that bothered me about the movie and the last few episodes in general was the fact that a lot of it seemed really rushed. There a few unanswered questions (which were kind of alluded to but never really solved) and even after the last scene, I kind of felt that it didn't really provide me with any closure.

Plus, a lot of the solutions used during the finale seemed like a big cop out to me. I mean, come on. Big mythical creature comes out of nowhere and pretty much solves all of Aang's issues with the final battle? Chyeah. In that case, where can I find one? And while I didn't want shipping to get in the way of enjoying the finale, I was disappointed. The relationships shown at the end scenes seemed tacked on, and kind of... empty... They did rip a few 'aw's' from my lips but that still doesn't satisfy me. But in a way, the movie was everything I expected it to be (ships and all), considering it was from Nickelodeon. Maybe if it wasn't, things would be a lot different. Though I must say. Sukka is the cutest canon couple ever. And don't get me wrong, despite all this, the movie was the best thing I've seen on TV, from Nickelodeon, for a while.

And while this is already getting long, I'm looking forward to Avatar being continued (not so much to the live-action movie). While I would love a sort of time skip, I guess the journey of a brand new Avatar wouldn't be so bad either. I'm curious to see how the cycle would continue afterwards, especially when it came to airbending. Oh the possibilities. :meekins:

Actually, in the second season, there's this scroll that they open in one episode, and it has a former avatar with the Lion Turtle and it is foreshadowing that Aang was going to meet the Lion Turtle later! :gant:

(I'm serious about this. I haven't seen it myself, but my friend's friend is obsessed with avatar, and she showed my friend that part, so my friend saw it and she told me.)

I never really understood the hype (if you could call it that) over this show. Maybe I haven't watched enough of it or the characters and plot seem really bland. I would curse my complex tastes right about now but The Dark Knight has forbidden me lest I be penciled in the eyeball by The Joker in my sleep. Or maybe it's because I'm a guy. Oh ho ho c wut i did thar?

In Book 2, Chapter 10, when they were in the library, Aang pointed oyut a scroll about a Lion Turtle. So it wasn't a RANDOM creature that showed up and solved everything, it was a KNOWN creature.

Just to put that out there.

As a Zutarian, I'd like to say that predicting pairings shouldn't be this intense, to the point where the show is ruined for you if you don't get the pairing you want. I've said this before: I love the idea of Zutara, and I was disappointed that it didn't actually happen, but honestly, what were the chances? It's a kids' show! We were reading too much into it if we truly thought Zutara would happen.

It'd be kinda like the Phoenix/Miles pairings. It's a great idea, but it was very unlikely. I don't mean to offend any shippers for either of these pairings, so PLEASE DON'T HURT ME!!! *cowers behind desk*

Well basically the video consisted of a fake trailer for "Book Air" and it was composed of various Zutarian fanart taken from the Internet and animated to make fun of the shipping. (again, they expressed how much they hate the pairing throughout the series's making) And people started backlashing on LiveJournal. >_>

I'm not much of a hardcore shipper myself, so I didn't really care how they got the relationships sorted out. I was leaning a bit towards Kataang, but it's more of the principle of the thing. :P I always tend to ship the main character and friend-of-opposite-gender, ya know?
Spoiler: HARRY POTTER DEATHLY HOLLOWS OOOMG... :D
I mean, I supported Harry/Hermione, and look how well THAT turned out :yogi:

I watched the ending again the other day, and I realized just how boring the Aang vs. Phoenix (hehe) king fight was. Azula vs. Zuko was the best, and I loved the teamwork between Sokka, Toph, and Suki. =D
SO... now I'm really confused. Is there or is there not going to be a continuation here?

According to what they said in ComicCon, there WAS a scene storyboarded for Zuko to seek Ursa in the finale, but it's unknown why that never came about. So the question in fact, WAS going to be answered. (So implications come off; she IS alive.)

And yeah, nothing of a continuation answer came out. (People there said too many stupid questions where answered and took up all the nice time)

Nothing's been officially announced. Like I said, that interview could mean anything from new seasons to a completely new series, or it could mean absolutely nothing. Personally, I'd be intrigued if they did a prequel with a previous Avatar, and since we know (the gist of) Roku's life, they could try with Kyoshi (sp?). Also, since we've already seen the adventures of a MALE Avatar, seeing the life on an Avatar through a woman's eyes could be an interesting change of pace.

But I should stop before I give people fanfic ideas...

( :scientific: Too late! :notes: ) Dammit!

Spoiler: Behold my power to conjure so many cliches in one phrase
Anyway, about Zuko's mom, They could've wrapped it up right there and then, very elegantly, with no need for a whole new season:

Right after the credits (which I couldn't see because whoever recorded the finale didn't record the credits) you'd see a simple house on a hill. Out of that house comes out a woman with green Earth Kingdom-like clothes, her face blocked by the camera angle. She carries some washed clothes to hang on the backyard. While this happens, on the road to the house someone approaches. He is obviously Fire Nation from the shoes... and the pants... and the cape... (Ok, so he's obviously Zuko) though we can't see his face either. He stops for a short while, gathers a breath, and walks toward the woman. Fade to black.

And all that couldn't have taken more than an extra minute.

It's actually Kuruk and Yangchen.....

But I really like Yangchen. We don't know muh about her; they should've developed her character more. We know about all the other Avatars; yet there's nothing for her. :(

Their back stories were actually first told in that Online Game (Journey to the Spirit World) Nick.com temporarily had during the hiatus between Season 2 and 3.

But yeah. Even in the game Yangchen still had nothing for some reason. Apparently it's because they didn't know they were going to introduce more Avatars beyond Roku and Kyoshi. (they planned her name last minute even; they made a joke of calling her "Susan" when someone asked)

Kuruk was probably easier to establish considering as a waterbender, they easily just paralleled his story with Aang's relationship with Katara.
Spoiler:
Though the finale only just mentioned a bit about him, the game shows that he gave a necklace to his lover (necklace giving is apparently traditional in the Water Tribes for couples it seems), and I don't remember, but Koh popped out of the fucking water and grabbed her because he wasn't paying attention. Yeah don't remember, something like that. The Online Game apparently reveals also that he's forever condemned to seek out Koh, never to gain his lover if no one is ever to kill Koh. ANGST.

EDIT: Two really well done MVs that managed to surpass the YouTube/Viacom wipeout:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmUBupBQSFo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soKvuHymkyE (Kataang)

I remember seeing others but I can't recall them at the moment. And since the Japanese dub is halfway done in...well Japan, I finally found Japanese fanart of the show. (dunno if she will keep updating since the erm...well "mistake")

Still one of my favorite cartoons to this day.

Favorite character(s): Zuko and Toph
Least favorite character(s): Katara, Ty Lee, Mai
Favorite Season: Book 2 Earth
Favorite Episode(s): The two part series finale of Book 1 (It got me into the series in the first place.)
Shipping(s): I don't ship anyone in the series, but I used to be a Zutara fan.
Spoiler: Thoughts on Aang/Katara
I don't hate this pairing for being canon I just find it boring and there are no surprises in it, we all knew it would happen in the end even though some of us wanted to deny it.

Other: I want to see more of the past avatars. :larry:
