Spoiler:
I feel a little disappointed tbh. But this episode was still quite good. Not as good as The Eleventh Hour, or more comparably, Dalek (2005) in terms of one-part Dalek stories.

I like the new Daleks, they're like an updated version of the Cushing movie Daleks. (Incidentally, that's what they were based on.)

I like the pre-established relationship between the Doctor and Churchill, makes a change, but, the ending was a little... meh. It does seem that the Doctor is being overshadowed by Amy a bit, seeing as she's saved the day twice in a row. (Have Moffat and Gatiss been playing GS, stealing the Mia saves Phoenix moments? Lol.)

Sad to see the old Daleks go. I liked that design. :sadshoe:

But, no time for whinging about this episode! Weeping Angels are next! :edgy:

As for the River Song...

Spoiler:
In Forest of the Dead, she knows about regeneration, so I'd presume she automatically assumed that Ten was a regenerated version of Eleven (And/or Twelve). Also, she sent a message to his Psychic Paper, so she knew it would be him in the library. As for the spoiler diary, I presume she used that to cover all her adventures with Eleven (and/or Twelve). :phoenix:

True, speaking of 12, what do you think they will do when he hits number 13? Maybe make him an old grumpy man like he was in his first two regenerations, that would be hilarious seeing someone like Richard Wilson as the doctor

No, because she says:
'I had lessons from the very best. It's a shame you were busy that day.'

So it can't of been the Doctor. Unless she was joking, of course.

Perhaps she meets an old companion who was taught how to fly the TARDIS at some point? Anyway, I really can't wait for the next episode - or for the rest of the series, for that matter.

Well that was a pretty damn good episode. Can't fully comment as it's only the first part of a two part story, but it was a damn good build up. My one complaint is that Amy seems to have suffered from bad characterisation these past couple of episodes. I mean, she just casually took everything in her stride this episode - even her first arrival on an alien planet! She wasn't amazed by it or anything, which is making her seem rather flat as a character, which is a shame because Karen Gillan has clearly proved herself as an actress, but she deserved better material to work with for sure.

Spoiler:
It was clearly a joke. The Doctor's ego gets bashed a lot in this series, haven't you noticed? Obviously the Doctor and us are supposed to assume it was him who taught her, since she's a future companion.

Ahhh, good ol' weeping angels. Cant beat them.
Amy seemed a bit unfazed at everything however. She was great and in character the first episode, but she seems to have gotten used to it way to quivkly. I liked the way Donna acted so 'WTF' at everything even after all shes seen and stuff.
And as for Riversong, i am completley confuddled. I admit it, I almsot forgot who she was, but now i remember she was in that episode with the Library and the shadows, and her spoilers diary
Spoiler:
HEY! WHO TURNED OUT THE LIGHTS?

Anyway, Amy was smart at one point. In the first ep with angels, 'Blink', i said why not close one eye at a time? you are still looking at them, but sort of winking at the same time. You can cheat the angels, and Amy did it :3

That was pretty damn awesome. The overall atmosphere made me feel... uneasy, to say the least. Which is a good thing. And everyone died except the Doctor, Amy and River! Marvellous. Love a high death count.
Didn't get why Amy came on to the Doctor at the end though. Seemed just a tad... shoehorned. I mean Jesus Christ man, can't we have one younger companion who doesn't want to get into the Doctor's pants? Although knowing Moffat, something wibbly-wobbly-timey-wimey will come out of it. So we'll just have to wait and see.

Idk

Spoiler:
I'm kind of disappointed that the Angels just look the same when you can't see them. Takes some of the mystery away.

Also; I have a theory: Amy either doesn't or isn't supposed to exist, because she can't remember the things she should. Y'know, the duck pond and the Daleks.

The countdown was my favourite part. Definitely. Or when the clerics unexisted D: I was scared and sad.

I loved the "your's is bigger than mine" scene, which was HILARIOUS. And this is a family show?

Oh, and next week's concept is fascinating. It'll either be a great episode or a crap episode. Hopefully it's the former, like the other episodes have been imo.

Nope. The ones after that are though. And DWM said who the villains are for the two parter. They're gonna be great. But discuss them in spoiler tags if you know because even DWM said they're spoilers.

I quite liked this episode as well as the two-parter before. I ol'd at Amy trying to seduce the Doctor, and the Doctor's subsequent burst out of a cake. XD

9/10 for Flesh and Stone
7.5/10 for Vampires in Venice

XD

And I'm also an 8th Doctor fan. I've listened to some of the Big FInish audios, and seen the movie, and he's a pretty fine Doctor. :edgy:

Sadly, I didn't enjoy Victory of the Daleks. It got too weird at about the point when they started persuading a bomb not to explode. 0_o And when Doctor Who gets too weird, it's serious. The Spitfires IN SPACE were fully awesome, but a little bit..'huh?'

I am absolutely loving the rest of Season 1/31/5/Fnarg. I originally disliked Matt Smith (Hey! I'm a Ten fangirl! It was a natural reaction!), but was instantly won over the second he climbed out of the TARDIS in 'The Eleventh Hour'. 10 is 'my Doctor' but 11 may just be my favourite, if that makes any sense. Oh and the Weeping Angels two-parter was amazing.

Spoiler:
MOFFAT ACTUALLY KILLED THE RED SHIRTS. FOR REAL. I never thought he'd do that! And the Angels snapped the clerics' necks and ripped their brains out. *shiver* AND HOLY SHIT THEY MOVED :beef: I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The atmosphere, direction, music, story - everything was brilliant. It's going up there with my favourites; the other Moffat episodes, Midnight, Waters of Mars, the Season Three finales and Dalek. I 9/10, a definite rarity.

Heh, I thought it was awful- they've dragged the Daleks into so many episodes that it's just gotten a bit tedious. Same with the Cybermen- if I see another episode with them this year, I shall scream DX

Oh, David Tennant will always be my favourite Doctor too- I just adore him <3 But I agree, Matt Smith has turned out to be pretty awesome. The moment he burst out of the cake last week, I was won over completely....

I take it that scene is from 'Vampires in Venice'? Flesh and Stone is airing tomorrow in Australia. I watched it online but can't find the Vampires one, so I'll just have to wait another week until it airs...at least we're not getting it four months late like we've been getting for the past four seasons.
I know what you mean about the Daleks. It feels like they're only in there because they're Doctor Who icons with a massive fan following, not because they're particularly scary or interesting.. *is shot*
power ranger daleks *snicker*
If they turn out to be the villains behind the Crack or something...I will scream. I'm so sick of them being the Magnificent Bastards behind everything.

Upon re-watch I found it a lot more enjoyable, actually. I much preferred it over the likes of The Daleks Take Manhattan and LET'S CRAM EVERY CHARACTER IN FOR NO RAISIN SO THE PLOT IS CONVOLUTED AND FANWANKY =D. Certainly the best toy advert I've ever seen.

I think the 2 Weeping Angel episodes are my favourite for this doctor. But David Tennant is the best doctor :minuki:

Spoiler:
Good God that was awesome. Probably my favourite episode of the season thus far. Only complaint was the odd resolution in the form of the Psychic Dust... or whatever it was called, felt a bit rushed. Although from the looks of things, the Dream Lord'll be back, in some form... (yes, next week, 'cause he was the Doctor! DOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO no but seriously, the actual Dream Lord will be back. Probably).

As for next week...
Spoiler:
bring on the Silurians, baby.
