Let me see if I can explain it... Basically, there's an emulator set up to livestream Pokemon Red, and people can comment the buttons on the stream. There's a program set up to convert those comments into button presses in-game. Therefore, it is Twitch('s users) playing the same exact game of Pokemon.

Needless to say, it's complete chaos. :kristoph:

I was wondering how it was set up. I enjoyed what I watched, but I can't imagine myself sitting through the whole thing waiting for moments like the "Ask the Helix Fossil!". Oh well, I'll just follow the progress every now and then.

FINALLY Finished watching Death Note, and my response I'm sure was the same as many.

Image

Spoiler:
Ok, Light was evil, lets get that strait. His intentions were good, but the desire to punish the wicked himself and then rise to power as the worlds God was not good at all; that was selfish. But still, the way he died, the events leading up to his death, it just makes your cry a little.

Just finished Valvrave the Liberator, kind of mixed feelings on the ending, mainly to do with pacing problems.

Spoiler:
So, Haruto and a few other main characters die, all well and good, L-Elf takes his rightful place as badass superior, and Pino and Plu get free of the Valvraves. That stuff's all fine. However, it's the twominute epilogue during the credits trying to explain the next two hundred years that just makes it all fall flat. And the whole war ending so abruptly, certainly feels like there should have been more.

Also, watching the original Mobile Suit Gundam, because I put it off due to 70s animation for too long However, I think the limited animation helps it focus more on the tactics and the like, as opposed to the flashiness of some later series. Also, how all the main protagonists seem to be generic anime-faced and kind of sketchy in comparison to when Char's on screen, turning it into an immaculate painting. The animatorsknew who the best character was. Char's a badass.

Oh, and regarding Death Note's ending:

Spoiler:
Nope, no sympathy for Light. fter all he's done, he deserved no better a death than running away like a dog, after being shot in some run-down out-of-theway warehouse by someone who formerly looked up to him. After L's death, the series was never as good until that last episode. So, my reaction was more like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KA6R1DMb-Z8

Yeah, felt pretty much the same way. But didn't you feel a twing of sadness. Just a little. I mean, it did not have to end that way. If Reuk (bet I spelled it wrong, but who cares) just didn't get so bored to the point of self entertainment, who knows what kind of life Light would live.
Spoiler: Because I don't want any butt hurt people whining to me about spoilers
Maybe he regretted it all with his dying breaths (Light that is, not Reuk).

Spoiler: Death Note
Light might have had good intentions in the very beginning, but highway to hell blah blah. It's pretty clear he let his power go to his head fast when he responded to L's broadcast condemning his (Kira's) actions by trying to kill him.

And no, I don't blame Ryuk at all, it was entirely Light's decision to use the Death Note. I actually thought the ending was great; Ryuk spent most of the series being Light's buttmonkey, so it was nice seeing him do something badass for a change.

Just finished Kill la Kill 19.

Spoiler:
Shit got real. Again.

Ryuko just put Senketsu back on already, is Mako gonna have to slap a bitch again

And, uh, I guess Satsuki has metal toenails or something.

No, I don't think Light would regret it. He was too far deep into that warped mindset for that to happen. The closest he'd get to regret would be frustration in letting himself fail.

The series really went downhill after L died...

Spoiler: Death Note
Pretty much agree Light went the power go to his head.

I would have, maybe, gotten behind what he was doing, or at least understood it, if he hadn't just started using innocents and hurting them too. I didn't care for him setting up people (law enforcement, friends, a certain god of death, even a criminal or two, etc) to do his dirty work and keep his secret safe (unknowingly in many cases). He pretty much turned them into criminals, when he was the biggest criminal of them all. (And a minor point, but many of them died robbed of any chance at an afterlife)

I don't condone anything Light did, but I have some mixed feelings. I feel a little bad for him, because he was corrupted by the notebook at a young age (note to shinigami: stop leaving your notebooks in the hands of stupid teenagers), but at the same time, I feel like slapping him upside the head for letting himself be corrupted. Yes, I can see the need to avoid capture because it would interfere with the "duty" of killing off criminals. But there were three problems with this: one, it started being less about the duty, and more about Kira protecting himself. Two, his plan of killing off criminals didn't factor in the people wrongly convicted. Three, he had zero respect for human life, and had no problem sacrificing scores of people just to keep his secret. I believe at one point, he was ready to kill off his own sister for a related reason.

I did cheer at the fact he was finally outsmarted by Near (and even more so at Matsuda confronting and shooting Light), but yeah, it's true the story lost something after L's death. Plus L was totally bangable, creepy eyes and all.

Damn, now I totally want to watch the live-action films. Thanks a bunch, guys :-P

Minor nitpick, but Light didn't rob anyone of a shot at the afterlife since Ryuk specifically tells Light there is no afterlife; once you're dead, that's it.

Spoiler:
They might not have mentioned it in the anime, haven't seen it, but he definitely says it in the manga. There's a flashback right before Light dies when he and Ryuk are discussing it shortly after he first gets the Death Note. The part about not being able to go to heaven or hell was sort of a half-truth; Light responds with "Well, then that means there isn't a heaven or hell, right?" Ryuk just chuckles and confirms it.

Well, in the anime, the existence of an afterlife is implied, at least in the ending.

Either that, or somebody ends up having some crazy hallucinations.
