Y'mean like the one from Ultimate Spiderman? Ehhhh...sort of. Except he doesn't look like a giant hulking monster and there's a little less green.

I hope this description is inaccurate because...really? I expect better than something like this:
Spoiler: Green Goblin?

Well, Bruce doesn't really need to be in good relations with Superman in order to repair Metropolis. Bruce probably would've heard something big like Metropolis getting torn to shreds on the news. Then he'd donate funds to help the city with its damages.

Read some reviews on Man of Steel. Ehh. Sounds like a mediocre film. A lot of criticism regarding the action scenes where Superman doesn't save anybody which seems pretty out of character for a one-dimensional guy all about saving people.

I guess that's expected since I'm not really a Zack Snyder fan, and I thought his adaptation of Watchmen was absolutely horrendous.

I thought it was really good. And what do they mean he doesn't save anybody? He saves lots of people!
Spoiler:
The best example is how he saved that family from Zod by snapping his neck. It actually showed that Superman CAN have conflicts about saving people. He had to choose whether to save the human family or save one of the last members of his own race, and he chose the humans.
Not to mention he also saves Lois a lot, as usual. And in my opinion, I think this version of Superman is more relatable than past adaptations. For that, this movie gets lots of brownie points from me.

I actually haven't seen Watchmen, but I hear stuff about people hating or loving it. Ironically, I heard Alan Moore himself didn't like the film.

EDIT: And yes, MrAwesome, Zack Snyder is a director.

From an article on Kotaku:
Quote:
One of the biggest criticisms lodged at Man of Steel has been the massive scale of devastation that happen during the movie’s action sequences. Much of Metropolis is a smoking crater by the time the film ends and there’s not much to be had by way of scenes where Superman is saving innocent bystanders. It—along with an uncharacteristic act by Superman—was my main gripe with the Zack Snyder-directed flick.

Which I interpreted as "Superman doesn't save a whole lot of people in the film"
Then there's this:

Yeah.

And Alan Moore disliking the Watchmen film is understandable since it was a horrible movie.

That's a good point. But I'm REALLY hoping these criticisms don't hurt the chances that we'll get a good Justice League movie in the future. I wanna see someone finally do Green Lantern and Wonder Woman right, and make an awesome Batman that isn't associated with Christopher Nolan.

Alan Moore actually liked this more than he did the Watchmen movie, and said it was his favorite adaptation of the comics he's seen! :gant:

Oh god Green Lantern... I can't believe I paid money to go see that train wreck. Aside from Batman (even if Rises was the weakest Nolan film), the DC universe isn't doin too hot compared to Marvel as of late. Most of them are focusing on being too realistic which kinda bothers me. They're freaking super hero movies. I don't take kindly to realism in my superhero movies!

I'm looking forward to Ant-Man and Defenders of The Galaxy one of these days.

Realistic doesn't bother me too much, but it's been a while since we've seen a Batman that embraces all the fantasy elements found in the comics. So it'd be great to see something like that in the future, but not now.

Ooo! Guardians of the Galaxy! I literally only found out about them because of Rocket Raccoon. ^^;
It'll be funny to finally see what a talking raccoon looks like in a superhero movie! Also I hear it'll tie into Avengers 2, and Thanos will be the main villain.

I'm also looking forward to seeing Doctor Strange whenever that comes out.

And apparently so has Deadpool's movie. Then again, I don't think a lot of fans are begging for Ryan Reynolds to come back to that role.

I've been thinking about getting one of the Spider-Man games like the Amazing Spider-Man movie based game, Shattered Dimensions, or Web of Shadows. I also remember the Spider-Man games based on the Sam Raimi movies, and I heard Spider-Man actually has some of the best movie-licensed games out there (but that's honestly not saying much.)

Spiderman 2 was fantastic. I absolutely loved that game as a kid.

I played a bit of Web of Shadows... and my god that game was abysmal. Literally all you're doing is going from room to room fighting bad guys to unlock doors. That's it. It was so... boring.

Looking at the Wikipedia article for that game, it looks like they got a lot of the original actors like Tobey McGuire, Kirsten Dunst, and Alfred Molina to play their respective roles in the game. And it looks they changed the plot a bit to include other villains like the Shocker, Black Cat, Mysterio, and Rhino (but for some reason, they used the Ultimate version of him.)

And I saw some reviews for Shattered Dimensions, and it looks like a pretty decent game. It's even from the guys who made the Amazing Spider-Man game which I heard was at least average.

I don't mind realism in Superhero movies because I remember as a kid I leaned towards Batman because I thought Superman was "too good."

But at the same time I agree with Blak because I couldn't bring myself to continue Batman: Year One. At first I thought it was interesting to see how mature Batman animation has become, but then it got old. It was like the movie was focusing more on making the movie mature rather than the bloody plot. And the Scooby Doo art style for Year One didn't work for me.

Mature animation? For batman that's expected. I guess they just don't do live action because there are some things you can do in animation you can't do even with CGI.

Batman: Year One is much more mature than Batman: The Animated series.

The Animated Series was child safe in comparrason.

Although Batman: The Animated Series was much more mature compared to other superhero animation series at the time.

In the 90's Spider-Man series, Spidey couldn't even throw a punch.

Oh yeah, I forgot to talk about Batman: Under the Red Hood.

I perfer older Batman movies, but I still like this one. It's mature and dark but the matureness and darkness feels natural for this movie. And I adore Red Hood, and this movie had an awesome version of The Joker.

And there were a few parts of the movie that made my stomach turn.

If I recall, Red Hood was the Joker before becoming the Joker. Don't think I'll ever see that movie on any movie playing networks though.

Just saw Man of Steel.

Thought it was boring as hell for most of it.

Also: Lois Lane.

Her character is HORRIBLE and so unlikeable. I can understand she's meant to be this ultra dedicated reporter but honestly she just comes across as blatantly unlikeable. She's saved by Superman like once then she stalks him across America eventually finding him and they are suddenly basically on the verge of being all hand-holdy and intense with each other.

Then the aliens come to take Superman on their ship and FOR SOME REASON they take Lois Lane too. All that happens from that is Lois Lane finds a way to mess up their plans. She says "Oh I'm sorry they read my mind somehow" an I'm thinking "Ok so that's why they took her", then Clark just says "No worries they got me with that too" and I just....ugh.

I know she was a classic damsel in distress but when you combine that with her inherent irritating nature it's a bit much considering her only job is to get rescued and tag along. I mean the cartoons even made fun of this and that was pretty cool but this film plays it dead seriously.

I watched The Avengers today.......I must say I like it and thought it was better than Man of Steel.

I probably would've liked it better if I was a fan of the heroes but I still adored Tony Stark and The Hulk.

Now, I will admit I kind of multitasked during the 1 hour prologue but there were some moments where my eyes were so glued to the tv that I couldn't leave the couch...The action was SO much better here than in Man of Steel.

I agree with that too.

While DC makes awesome animated movies, Marvel's got them topped in the live-action department.

Although I'll admit, I liked Man of Steel a little more than Iron Man 3.
Spoiler:
Especially because of that bizarre twist that "the Mandarin" isn't really the Mandarin, but a washed up British actor named Trevor Slattery. The twist was pretty funny at first, and when you think about it, it's kind of clever for Aldrich Killian to have thought of such a plan to confuse the public, but ultimately, you feel a little disappointed that what you wanted to see wasn't what you got.

Well then what are you waiting for? You should watch it! Honestly, it might not be as strong as the Dark Knight in terms of story, but it's still a great movie, and it was a lot of fun!

I'll admit, while it probably wouldn't fully work in live-action, I do like the classic Electro look, if my avatar doesn't say enough.

Now I wonder how the Rhino will look? We've seen pics of Paul Giammati in some kind of wierd wheeled-platform, and he's wearing some huge shoulder armor, that I suppose will get CG'd over in the final film. But just looking at the pics, I can't even imagine what he'd look like.

Spoiler: The Rhino?

Hopefully, after San Diego Comic Con, we'll get some more pictures, concept art, or even a teaser trailer that could show us a little bit more about our villains.
Spoiler:
Especially Harry Osborn as the Green Goblin and Colm Feore as the Vulture.

If you look closely at the background, you can kinda see Electro poking his big ol' yellow spikes from behind Elecman.

I like Elec's design (probably my favorite from the first game and one of my favorites of the whole series), but hooo boy this guy was tough as nails!

Twas' his stupid bloody beam that hits for a third of your health and takes up a good portion of the screen. It's also his ONLY attack grrr. I had to admit defeat and run away to get Cutman's weapon for him.

Though yeah will be interesting to see Rhino's actual look once digitally spruce'd up.

Although how they're going to capture the Rhino's charging with something so stiff and slow is beyond me. Then again, if the Hulk could be CG'd perfectly in the Avengers, I'm sure there's a way to make Rhino look just as epic.

Amusingly, one LP'er did this to kill Elecman, with NO damage and ONLY using the Mega Buster! A miracle, I say!
