Heck, you could do lots with them, aerial gymnastics using the maneuvering gear, would certainly work too. 3D fencing, not with their absurdly sharp blades, of course, and it'd probably get a bit more dangerous what with the hooks being potentially lethal themselves.

I remembered what my friend's theory was while watching it as well. She said that Eren's Father could have the power of becoming a Titan, which is why he disappeared. Seeing as Eren's Father must know something about this power. It seems she was not far from the truth.

Survey Corps awesomeness! Perhaps they'll pull a Big Damn Heroes moment while the garrisson are still being idiots and not accepting this crucial advantage against the Titans.
Inside of a Titan looks properly horrifying, too, as it well should.
And it's unclear on when that flashback was to, but didn't Eren's dad run off to the inner, inner walls before Wall Maria fell, and then didn't see Eren after that point? Because if he didn't, and he told young Eren under memory suppressing drugs to take back Wall Maria, that's pretty significant.
Wait, I think he got the key after, though, but when? Don't remember him showing up again in the intro scenes. Ah well, I'm probably wrong, but that certainly would've added further credence to my theory of man-made Titans. Heck, the ability to turn someone into a Titan suggests this has been trialled before, say, perhaps, 100 years before, on the general population...

New characters!
Glasses girl is Potato girl's sister! Levy is a badass! Levy and Glasses girl will date and they will bear children. Their kids will play big daddy Titan Eren and they will have a lot of fun. Eren will retake Wall Maria and annihilate all the Titans even himself. Eren's dad knows about Colossal Titan-kun cause he made him. He's sad, but he'll get happy again cause he's still alive.
Though I will admit, it was harder to find gifs during this episode.
Also, it's about damn time DeMat joined the craziness of Titan!
When Eren went Titan, I thought of this.

It feels as if the next episode is months away, even though it's just 7 days... ARGH I can't stand the tension, I'm gonna read the manga. No spoilers, of course! I've seen some isolated images from the manga and it's amazing how loyally they're adapting it, at least visually.

The short episodes keep things fast paced, however I wouldn't mind them being a little longer, so we had more to talk about. Maybe a 45 minute episode would be better.

Could be Rivaille's his first name. They did address him as Captain Levy, after all.
I didn't think the episode was too short, as such, the whole standoff with Eren was a rather short time-frame, and the Survey Corps appearing was just pretty much just to introduce the characters there, and show what they were doing while everyone was getting eaten, with one such eaten person becoming a Titan. Do I wish it was longer? Well, of course, I wish every episode was longer, make the wait between them a bit more bearable.

I mainly ask because watching the Survey Corps bit made me think "why don't we focus on these guys?" Of course, then I remembered EREN PAWNCH! and various other Eren-related trashing of Titans. That's why.
Also, our theory of conspiracy creating the Armoured and Colossal Titans begs the question, are they people we know already who don't know they're Titans? I ask because watching the series again in succession, Reiner bears quite a resemblance to the Armoured Titan...
And does Bertolt ever talk past episode 3? He's always just there, with Reiner.
And the more I hear it, I think "Captain levy" might be trnslators thinking Levy has the pronunciation of Rivaille when listening to Japanese, as opposed to Rivaille being his actual name, with the proper pronunciation, or maybe he is Rivaille Levy... (Also, if it was justa pronunciation thing, it'd surely be Levi, rather thn Levy, Levy would have an "ee" sound at the end...)

Also, Revaille and Levi are the exact same name, with different ways of writing it. Revaille is pronounced "Ree-va-ee" in Japanese, and Levi is "Lee-va-ee", except the Japanese pronounce L as R. Levi is a romanization of Revaille. I was confused at first too, but it makes sense!
I couldn't help it guys, I read the manga. Alll of it so far, basically covering the next 5 to 10 episodes of the anime... And I don't even regret it. It's amazing, the story is mindblowing and the art is awesome. And I kept thinking "I want to see this get animated!"
It's an amazing series, it is.

That's too much. Some manga are really long and show no signs of stopping anytime soon. Like One Piece for example, Oda's said it'll definitely end one day, but there's so much story to cover that it's probably gonna take another good 10 years to finish.

Ah, it's Captain Wellman. Still, how did he get to be in charge of anything?
Willing to bet Eren's dad hasn't shown up in five years because he's dead, very very dead, as in, gvernment killed him for getting too close to the truth of the Titans.
Judging by the looks of the Garrison forces ready to re-take Trost, next week's gonna be a bloodbath, even with Eren there, he can't fight all of the Titans, and has a boulder to carry.
Armin's salute was the second most epic salute I've ever seen in an anime. First place goes to Irresponsible Captain Tylor.
