This one is short (it's a promo for a French video editor site) ...but shows you that Nostromo is an amazing video editor.

I recall one of his AMVs using only one episode for the whole video.

And this one is another favorite as it's so in-character with the actual series.

I'm wondering how people do that effect of transparency around a specific shape in their videos...Do they do it frame by frame or is a program they use able to give you the ability to do something like that?

"Spectacular Anime" - multifandom video to "The Pitch" from Moulin Rouge I downloaded this one ages ago, and I still rather like it.

"Deluge" (Shoujo Kakumei Utena) STUNNING Utena video to "Going Under" by Evanescence. I know it's an unspoken rule that Evanescence AMVs suck, but this one truly is incredible. Give it a watch.
"Sayonara, Gyakuten-sensei" If you have seen Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and have not seen this video, watch it right now. You will laugh your ass off.
"Code Monkey" (Black Heaven) Another movie everybody in the world has seen--if that does not include you, even if you have never heard of/seen this anime, watch this. This is another one I saw at AX 2007 and was blown away by. Yes, it's up there with "Skittles".

Better to necro an old thread than to make a new one...

One of my favorite AMVs is "Let Them Eat Rei". It's an incredibly well done AMV. The song used is "Still Alive" from Portal's end credits and the anime used is Neon Genesis Evangelion and the series finale movie The End of Evangelion.

Another favorite is "Elvis vs. Anime". The song used is "A Little Less Conversation" by Elvis Presley but it's the JXL Remix. The AMV itself is based on the JXL Music video.
It uses a lot of different anime. Including Escaflowne, Sailor Moon, Cowboy Bebop, Evangelion, and many more. It must have taken a long time to get done. Countless keyframes during the editing process had to be used. The masking is nearly perfect.

"The Race" is another favorite. Like "Anime vs. Elvis" it uses a lot of different anime. Some of the included anime is Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist, Inyuasha, One Piece, Cowboy Bebop, DBZ, and more. Songs used are "Ooh La La" by The Wiseguys and "Island In The Sun" by Weezer

"Fallen Soul's" is an awesome Soul Eater AMV. (Contains SE spoilers)

I also make AMVs and this one, this one, and this one are personal favorites of mine. >_>;

It's more of a Preference really. Do you like watching moving Color images or Reading more?

I personally love reading more And the Manga does continue past the anime which made up an Ending for it. Pretty good ending in my humble opinion though.

The Ken Tribute by Kerpymonkazerin is awesome.
I love the use of effects and the clips he used. Also the fact the AMV director had chosen the song Enjoy The Silence by Depeche Mode. Too bad it's only a minute and a half long. A perfect AMV in my opinion.
