The Girl Who Leapt Through Time - 8/10

A great story, a nice plot twist, beautiful animation and characters that are easy to love. One point off because from watching the English dub, a few lines or so didn't sound so believable, but it wasn't consistent enough to be a problem. Another point off because it left some plot holes open.

dead serious. A plot and script recycled form early nineties action movies that can't stand in today's day and age of filming. Simply an over glossed film trying to dazzle the audience with special effects trying to hide it's a mashup of Fern Gully and Pocahontas for adults. Seriously, Worst script I ever heard in my life. unobtanium?.

Das Boot: something good/10

I feel I can't properly judge this film, as I have a strange dislike for films about submarines. But, for what I could tell it wasn't too sugar coated and gave a realistic visual of what war life in a u boat was like. Also, it was pretty ballsy at the time to make a film that could be taken as sympathetic to Germans in WWII.

M: 8/10
Second time I've seen this film, and it's just as good the second time around. Maybe slow paced and boring to those who like visuals to keep them interested in a film, but it's a delicate mystery and very innovative at the time. The last monologue in the film is astoundingly scripted, and is a very well written metaphor for the affairs of Germany at the time.

The Pianist: 8/10
Emotional. Powerful. This film is the first 'Holocaust Film' to make me cry. Cry bitch tears in the middle of a college classroom. The story of this man is so well told, and the direction of the film really makes you feel what he's going through. The film has absolutely no cross cutting, so you only know what Spzilman knows. A film that can really be enjoyed by everyone, in my opinion. Just as engrossing and impactful at face value as it is deeper for literary level.

Sherlock Holmes: 9/10

I've loved mysteries and stuff like that since 3rd-4th grade thanks to the Case Closed anime series, which takes inspiration from the original SH books, so this movie I had to see, even in a one-room theater. That, and I hope for God's sake that they make a sequel with Prof. Moriarty!! (More SH-related movie stuff on third movie-judging~)

The Princess and the Frog: 10/10

I love Disney animated musicals. Period. Not only that, this movie made me wanna have some of my dad's gumbo. It's sad, though, that when me and my friend went to see this movie, my friend, who also went with me to see Sherlock Holmes, had to have ice on below her eye. DX "I blame my mom for that," says I.

Case Closed: The Phantom of Baker Street: 8/10

JIMMY~! <3 Seeing as how Case Closed is inspired by the Sherlock Holmes books, it would only make sense to visit the world Sir ACD created that inspired CC. My only tick is that Mitch sounds way too much like a girl in this movie. Oh, but at least Conan fights back after Mitch disses his game skills. "Your face is crappy," says Conan. XD

Zombieland; 9/10

DOUBLE TAP. Nothing amuses me more than Twinkie-lovers and good-ol' zombie killing. Oh, and Bill Murray. LET'S GO PLAY HOUSE OF THE DEAD 2 NOW! :D

Kung Fu Panda- 9.5/10. The colors of this movie were so pretty, as was the whole scenery. It's not trying too hard to be funny and doesn't spend the whole movie doing parodies and references, like many, many other Dreamworks movies. The storyline is simple, yet very well done. Probably one of the best Dreamworks CGI movies I've seen.

Drag Me to Hell: Actually a pretty fun horror movie; you can tell Sam Raimi had a hell of a time making it. The movie's as much a really dark comedy as it is a horror flick -- there are lots of hilarious touches, including one bit with a cat that had me cracking up for a couple of minutes. The story is pretty basic, and the ending is predictable, but whatever. It's well made and entertaining; I enjoyed it. This is what modern horror should be rather than stupid torture porn Saw-esque movies.

I actually enjoyed this movie (which was surprising considering the crap I sat through). Good set of actors, Anthony Hopkins, Hugo Weaving....a descent story, LOTS of gore, and of course werewolves. There has been very few werewolf movies I really enjoyed.

The last few films I saw;

Rose Red - 5/10... I dunno - I watch this every few months even though it's really not great. Being a Stephen King film means the script is pretty terrible.

Drag me to Hell - 8/10 - it's pretty funny and has some "ewww" moments, but I shit myself at some bits.

House of 1000 Corpses - 9.5/10 - I friggin love this film and the sequel (Devil's Rejects). I definitely think Rob Zombie should stick to making films.

The Descent - 7/10 - I think it's pretty boring considering the reviews were mostly great.

Saw 6 - 9.5/10 - can't wait to buy a real copy of it tomorrow 8D <3

... I watch too many films.

Alice in Wonderland (2010)- 9/10. It was quite good, but it took me the whole movie to figure out it was the sequel to the Disney animation.

Benjamin button 9/10
It was very good. They took care in the plot and made sure everything was alright. The story was interesting enough to keep me going, but it loses one mark because its 3 and a half hours long, which is VERY long for a movie. (any moar than two hours for me and i lose concentration)

The Crazies.
7/10
A zombie-esque survival themed movie, it doesn't really bring anything new. There were a few moments of awesomeness, and some sucessful jumping moments, but it wasn't really that scary.

Halo Legends

+ Gives lots of Halo Universe History
+ Lots of Action
+ Last 3 episodes were very indulging
+ Last episode looks absolutely gorgeous, loaded with spartan ownage
+ First-person view is awesome and nostalgic
- Third episode is weird and confusing
- Fifth episode is pretty childish and a bit too reminiscent of Dragonball Z for my tastes, but...
+ There's a bit of humour in the episode that is somewhat like Red vs Blue, which is great.

Overall score: 9/10

If you like Halo or want to get into Halo, it's pretty awesome and informative about the Halo Universe, and with it being available on the Zune Marketplace to rent for the low price of 280 microsoft points (which I think comes out to be around $3-4), along with the simplicity of being able to purchase it without ever leaving the comfort of your own couch/bed/wherever you play video games, there's no reason not to check it out.

Snakes on a Plane - 9.9/10

This film was brilliant. A great introduction to the importance of this plane making it and introducing the passengers before and during their flight, and snake scenes scary enough to make you cover your eyes. Very thrilling all the way from the first sign of something going wrong, and it's great how the heroics were shared amongst several of the passengers, and not just the main character. One point off because the snakes were easily noticeable as CGI. Obviously they couldn't use real snakes, but I would've thought that animation was a bit better in 2006.

Well I dislike tim burton because while his graphics are different (not unique) he does nothing for the story. (not to mention a hot topic sell out)
Specifically Alice. It was bland and predictable from the start.
Johnny Depp's performance was too reminiscent of Jack Sparrow and some of the time it lead on to that the Hatter had feelings for Alice. (not romantic, but like, missing and longing)
Mad people don't feel.
Helana Carter is displayed as an unattractive character and did so. She's usually a beautiful women and her acting and inner beauty usually shines through her characters. But with this one, her character was also a predictable eyesore.
Anne Hathaway was probably the shining light of the movie because she was beautiful and played the character well.
The movie sucked. I'm pretty critical with movies but it doesn't take a lot for me to like them so when I don't like a movie, it's for a good reason.

Isn't almost all of is roles kinda similar to this? In my opinion, all his roles are a bit on the crazy side... Sorry, But how can you know that mad peoples don't feel? (P.S.: Alice/Mad Hatter shippers existed loooong time ago, way before this movie...)

Jack and his glass filled with dirt. And oh hey, at least he got his hat back at the end of the movie...

Pirates of the Caribbean: At the World's End - 8/10

Meh, never really cared about Will and Elizabeth. They were more annoying than usual... and this movie seemed kinda more confusing than the other ones, at least I got that impression.

Sweeney Todd - 9,5/10

Awesomeness, just cut that whole Johanna part. That girl has an awful high pitched singing voice, horrible. And I couldn't have cared less for her during the whole movie. I was also sick of hearing that stupid Johanna song...
but except that, it was great. I wish he would killed more people though :/ Oh and I love the singing Mr. Depp <3

I don't know. After I was finished watching that movie, I felt like I missed some important story parts or such. It was more like a "That's it?" feeling if you get what I mean. That's why I thought I may missed something and didn't get the actual plot. Don't know why I was thinking that though *shrugs*

I think maybe he means....technically some definitions of 'madness' do include a distinct disregard or unawareness of other people's feelings. Psychopathy can be defined by a person's seemingly complete lack of Empathy with other human beings combined with some immorality.

Though "Mad people don't feel" for others is a very vague statement.

This film was amazing beyond comparison. A simple story of revenge could not get much sweeter, and the amount of violence could only be compared to Goichi Suda's No More Heroes. Fantastic choreography during the fights, and the silence surprisingly adds suspense and excitement. The sheer amount of blood was horrific and gruesome, but still surprisingly fun to watch. Some hilarious moments scattered throughout, and the music, while some sounded a little cheesy, still was great.

I wasn't expecting the movie to be much but a 3D joy ride...and it was. The plot was obvious, the characters not quite fleshed out like other Dreamworks projects, BUT! The dragons do make up for it.

Shoot 'Em Up: 9/10.

Starring Clive Owen. This is one of the most badassed action movies I've ever seen and he eats carrots. It's super awesome, it's like the remake of the A-team with the exeption he doesn't use a tank from a exploding plane. In the shooting scenes they use rock and when in the end they use Kickstart my heart by Motley Crue... OMG too cool. It has been a time since I saw such an awesome action movie. No more Schwartehdhdnbkdlfjg... this is it. An all the jokes are cool, like he stabs a guy with a carrot and he says: "eat your vegetables" XD
Thanks. It was, is and always will be a pleasure.

Syfy's Alice (8/10): Still have to see Burton's version but wanted to see this first. Overall entertaining and loved Hatter.

Points off because they dropped the ball in plot points (why the *bleep* is Hatter's hand so powerful? Why did no one touch on the fact Charlie up and ditched them?), the fact it dragged at times, the breaking of the Queen's power didn't feel as believable as it should've been, and Alice ticked me off for some reason. I can't describe it and while I'm glad she can kick some ass on her own there was just something about her that had me rolling my eyes.

Why?
The actors managed to hold my attention (love Dakota Fanning).
It made for a good laugh.

Not a fan of the series, but I went to see it with my friends. I suddenly understand what a solid fifty per cent of my school is complaining about. Because this was my first time associating myself with Twilight, I didn't know what to expect. I now know I won't be coming back to it.

loved the actors, and I'm a fan of the series. All that made me mad is that there was not a three headed guarding hell, and that was almost the funniest part in the book. For shame!

Clash of the Titans (myth accuracy I give it 3/10, as a movie 7/10): Was a let down for me. Pretty visuals for sure, nice actions sequences, and I liked the first half of the movie. Unfortunately, the character work was a bit dry and...

Spoiler: Other things I didn't like
-WTF, why does Zeus get off the hook? Never liked him in myth but jeez. He even says the only reason he tried helping was because of Perseus, if Perseus hadn't been around he probably would have let the humans rot. Plus, he's pretty much a rapist who by extension got Danae killed.
-Io. Annoying flat character. I thought she was Athena at first but after the reveal it went down from there. Plus, it felt like part of the reason they included her was so that they could squeeze in a more believable love interest for Perseus since Perseus in the original myth just saw Andromeda and it was "OMG I LOVES YOU!".
-Wish they had kept the villain of the original movie. It just made a biiit more sense than Hades.
