You can't be serious with ratings like that. =_= I hate bandwagon haters. So many people hate on Twilight because everyone else does. It's ridiculous. I read the series before it was popular enough to have haters and ended up disliking it on my own, so at least that's justified. Go hate on something you've actually READ and had no one influence your opinion on.

I am, sort of. I admit I have no problem with the books and movies on their own. (I don't enjoy them, but they're far from the worst thing I've ever seen.) The problem with me is the fan-base more than anything. (Which is why I said 'phenomenon', not the actual movie.) I guess I don't have the mentality these people seem to have with fiction...

No kidding. The teenagers and gay middle-aged men walking around with body glitter, fake fangs, and gold contacts scare the hell out of me. And it just makes me look bad because my teeth came in in a way that it looks like I have fangs. My father always teases me and says I look like one of those rabid, obsessed fans. It's annoying.

I have the exact same tooth problem. Luckily, my father has made it his policy to stay far away from anything that the 'kids' find popular, so I haven't really been called out as a crazy fan by him. (Others have, though.)

And thank God I live in the South, where most of the people that ENJOY looking like escaped mental patients don't have the funds to do so. ( I also wasn't aware that gold contacts were a fad. Now I'm gonna have to start calling out people like that in public and say they're Sith. I have WAY to much fun messing with the fanbases of things like this.)

I really liked the whole idea, the movie was awesome, and thrilling.

A-team: I'd say that this deserves a 9/10 for me. I saw it with my dad, and he mentioned that what happened in the movie was actually pretty consistent with the show itself, which says a lot for the show.

I admit that the plot is pretty stupid when you analyze it, but I doubt that anybody gives a damn about PLOT in the A-team. It's mostly about watching the insane jackass stunts that they pull off. Some of the stuff they do is just so insane that I couldn't help but laugh. Flying a tank being just one of them. GOD that was hilarious. And awesome at the same time.

I couldn't help but laugh at the characters as well, who just happen to have such insane personalities that I find that they would belong within Team Fortress 2's mental hospitals.

Some of the stuff is so insane that it manages to ignore the "wha?" and straight into "BWAHAHAHA!" from the insanity. One of the things that is such is the team busting the resident crazy guy out of a psyche ward. They do so by literally giving him a 3-d movie, and right when the jeep is about to activate the 3-d effect, BAM! Jeep crashes through the wall. The timing of that is so good you have to wonder how the hell they pulled that off so precisely. But you'll be laughing too hard to actually give a damn about such little details.

That said, according to my dad, none of the original cast is within the series, but that's not a surprise, given that the show is about 40 years old or so. They actually did a pretty good job of disguising the Mr. T replacement at his entrance (it helps that he looked almost exactly like Mr. T as well). The action sequences, when the team isn't being insane, are actually very well-done, and can show that despite the team's utter insanity, when they bunker down and actually do the job, they can be quite dangerous.

The insane plans are apparently a staple of the series, as my Dad said (and I'm roughly quoting here): "The more crazy the plan, the more A-team the plan". Some of the plans are so well-planned out that Aizen Sosuke and David Xanatos would be proud.

That's about all I have to say of the movie.

I just wanna say, TWO of the original actors, (not quite sure which two, but I know one of them are dead, and Mr. T didn't have a part in it)I believe, made cameo appearances, not much more than extras, really.

But I agree with everything else said. (The Freelance Astronauts would be proud of that flying tank.)

Kung Fu Karate Kid: 9/10
I sniffled in the scene where Jackie Chan broke down. I've been watching Jackie Chan movies most of my life, so seeing him take on the role of an old, broken man made my heart break. ;-; Will Smith's son (Jaden Smith, I think?) is, imo, a great actor and he really shined in this movie. Although I love the original, this remake comes really close and I definitely recommend it.

Toy Story 3: 10/10
Again, I got all misty-eyed toward the end. Disney is brilliant; this movie really struck a chord with my generation, who watched the first Toy Story as elementary students and are now watching the third as they're about to become college students. I could relate to Andy, my mom related to his mom, my brothers related to his little sister... it dealt with some very difficult themes while still keeping it light and cheery with plenty of hilarity. Tengo un amigo en mi~ (I lol'd so hard at Spanish Buzz. Oh god.)

The Last Airbender: 7/10
People who saw it before me kept giving negative reviews about it, and I can see where they were coming from. Compared to the show... it's fairly mediocre, storyline wise. The first half took 7/8ths of book one and hit the fast-forward button on it. The characters didn't get much development... hell, Yue and Iroh probably got the most. Sokka (oh, I'm sorry, SO-kuh) was too dry and had almost no humorous moments. Aang wasn't very cheery (though if you ignore the show, his attitude in the movie doesn't seem too implausible). I liked the CG and action scenes, but I'm angry that they cut out the Kyoshi warriors and robbed the movie of some much-needed comedy. However, I'm too much of an Avatar nerd, so I'm still buying the DVD. :yogi:

People need to stop saying that. "Karate Kid" is what the Chinese kids call Dre in the beginning when he tries to fight Cheng with a stance, and gets his ass whooped.

Besides, its unrealistic to think that a kid practicing Karate could beat a kid whose practically a master of Kung Fu.

Anyway, I also loved this movie! I don't understand why anyone would say Jaden Smith did bad in it, he was so believable as a kid! He reminded me of my little brother so many times, ha ha. And you can tell he worked HARD to learn Kung Fu.

Although a lot of it was unrealistic compared to the original, it was still felt so real. I really, really liked every single character in it. 9/10 from me as well.

Also, I'll quickly rate Shutter Island. 8/10. Not very scary/creepy, and has a predictable ending. Also, I think there's a small plothole. But definitely a more intellectual film and fun to watch.

Hey guys (or gals) when you're talking about Twillight like that, I hope that you know that;

1- Not every fan of the movie are crazy rabid fangirls/boys. I'm a fan of the saga but I'm not a rabid fangirl but if they like to go crazy with it, good for them. Many friends of me are just like me, having read the books, saw the movies, having their favorite characters, but NEVER going all crazy over it.

2- Pretty much all blockbusters, best-sellers and popular videogames have their crazy fangirls/boys that act just the same as Twillight fans. Harry Potter, Star Wars and Rocky Horror Picture Show, to name only a few. If you dislike the fan-base around Twillight, you must dislike every fan-base...

So, please keep it at the real goal of this topic, rate movies that you actually saw, don't rate a "phenomenon" that you don't even really know about m'kay!

Last movies I saw:
Halloween (Remake): 8/10 Good, but not as good as the original, of course

See no Evil: 9/10 For some reasons, I really like this movie, though many peoples don't. The way the killer was treated by his mother maked me cry... Plus Kane is one of my favorite wrestler!

Willard: 10/10 I'm a fan of Crispin Glover and this is his best movie in my opinion.

Hairspray: 9,5/10 Not as good as the original brodway thing, but still very good! I like musicals a lot and this one is my favorite.

Peice of shit! The series took a turn for a worse and since Edward was not gonna die, I knew it would only get worser. The movie felt incredibly rushed and just seemed like nothing but eyecandy.

I'm expecting Breaking Dawn to be even worse but hoping it will be hilarious at the same time. I'll have to watch it with my friend.

A "saga" that promotes pedophilia, beastility, danger, and the occasingal incest. Where Stupidity is intellagence, and mental fans thinking twats like Edward Cullen are hot.

Very normal fandom indeed. :/

Hmm. I read the entire Twilight series and watched the movies. Then I placed myself firmly in the Anti camp...and I hadn't had much contact with the fanbase at all, unless you count my obsessed cousin.

Toy Story - 10/10. This was better than How to Train Your Dragon and that came close to being one of my favourite movies ever.

A-Team - 7/10 Not bad. Epic and quite fun.

Eclipse: 9,5/10 I don't f****** care what everybody else think, I liked it. The only reason why I don't give it a 10 it's because we don't see the Volturi enough. The Volturi are awesome. Stephanie Meyers should write a book only about the Volturi! :will:

Somewhat interesting concept, but one movie too far methinks. I really did enjoy watching this film, but at times it may have felt rushed.

I cried, but I didn't BAWL. They were still crying when the movie ended. So two reasons:

1) It's a freaking kids movie. They wouldn't kill them.

2) It's Disney. They're gonna make all the money they can off Toy Story. I'm going to take my grand children to Toy Story 18 we're Woody and Buzz live in an alternate universe and Andy plays with them while he's in heaven.

That is why I didn't cry. (DAMN RHYMES!!!!!!!)

I respect your opinion, but in my opinion a 7/10 is overly generous. I expected a lot more out of this film. Given the excellent series fueling it, there was a lot of room for this to shine and it entirely fell short. The child-actors were a massive disappointment; they were actually painful to watch. M. Night Shyamalan is known for his talent when working with child actors and, while I believe the martial arts scenes were extremely well coordinated, I was really let-down by the poor quality of their acting. The adult actors weren't anything spectacular either; Ozai and Zhao seemed to be in competition for the Biggest Ham award. Iroh was probably the best actor out of the whole bunch. Acting aside, my other complaint? They moved too quickly. Yes, yes, I understand they had to compress an entire Book into one movie, but I felt if they had made the movie longer, they might have given themselves more time for some much needed character development as well as allowed for smoother scene transitions. And don't give me all that bull about a movie targeting children needing to be on the shorter side; I used to baby sit, so I know that if a kid likes a movie enough, they'll watch it over and over and over no matter how long it is. I've seen Monsters, Inc. so many times I could've clawed my eyes out. Anyway... I couldn't figure out why the characters addressed each other by name so frequently when it made more sense to use a "he", "she", "you" or any other number of pronouns, until I figured that they probably needed to keep saying their names so that you wouldn't forget who they were considering some of them appeared onscreen for a glorious ten minutes. Despite all the negative things I'd heard, I decided to go to this movie with an open mind. I find that it's pretty difficult to disappoint me in the cinema, but The Last Airbender was just not a good movie, in my opinion. I understand fully well that certain aspects of an animated series just will not translate well to live-action, but it's hardly any excuse. The characters were a pale imitation of the ones I'd grown familiar with, no matter which way you sliced it. I won't discourage anyone from seeing it, as that's everyone's decision to make, I just think it was a monumental let-down. My siblings, cousin and I were the trolls of the theater, considering we found the movie so awful that it was hilarious.

Thank you for
A) Spoiling Toy Story 3 assholes...
B) Saying that Pixar is Disney
C) Thinking this movie is marketed towards kids. Yes, yes "your opinion" and all that jazz, but hear me out.

I think the fact that Andy is going to college shows that this movie is geared towards kids who saw the first two movies long ago and are now grown up. Case in point: My sister thingamajig. She's 18 and ULTRA!! ULTRA!! excited about this.

Oh yeah, also, I don't think Pixar have the time nor money to keep making sequels at the moment.

I honestly think this movie

Hilarious and charming at the same time, I thought it was great, and while there were a few minor shortcomings (I thought the climax seemed a little rushed), I would recommend this movie to everyone who hasn't seen it.

"Inception" -

I was going to see it on opening night but things came up. So I saw it yesterday and it was one of the most amazing and complex story I've ever seen. Dom Cob was one of Leonardo Decaprio's best roles. He played him with emotion and made him a very mysterious character that the audience will want to find out more about his past and his troubles. Joseph Gordon-Levitt was phenomenal as Arthur and made him smart and calculating while still being very funny. Ellen Page played Ariadne with ease and I felt as though she wasn't acting and that was really her. I really loved Tom Hardy's character and I thought he was incredibly funny. To make a long story short, ALL of the actors made a great effort to make this movie great. The story was incredibly in-depth and amazingly creative. This isn't your typical action movie because it is much more than nonsensical explosions and boob jokes. It causes you to think and challenges you. The concept was great from the get go. I don't want to spoil anything in the plot due to the fact that pretty much anything said needs to be explained with another potential spoiler. But, I will talk about the ending.

Spoiler:
The totem spin. Where do I begin? That was one of the best choices Nolan made in this movie. His choice of leaving the ending up to the viewer. Books such as "Watchmen" which is my favorite book of all time did the same. This movie is as in depth as any book and leaving the ending up to the read-I mean watcher is a very unused tactic in the movie world. As I was in the theater, people were sighing over the relief of seeing him with his kids and I actually heard someone crying. But when that totem began to wobble and the screen went black, they all yelled "NOOOOOO!" My ending is that it falls and he is happy. I think he deserves to be in the real world.

Overall, Christopher Nolan has done it again and not only topped The Dark Knight, but set the standard for future sci-fi movies yet to come.

Toy Story 3: 10/10 IDK what everyone else has said, but I'm very sure they must've liked it too. The first one was plain awesome, the second one was ASS and now the third one went to EPICLY AWESOME. I just couldn't stop laughing at Ken... sissy girl. But the two characters who amazed me were:

Spoiler: some spoilers
Totoro and THE MONKEY, I just loved the Monkey, I'd like to have one of those and I freaked out when I saw Totoro Smile... damn you Disney and your purchasing of copyright...

...for a moment there I thought I'd see Wolverine because Disney also bought Marvel.

What else can I say? Very funny and cute like I used to remember... greatest movie I've seen in a lot of time. :acro:
Thanks. It was, is and always will be a pleasure.

Emmmm... I watched it the "other" way. It's fansubbed, FYI.

But I'll buy it when it's out in Europe, because I loved it. <3

-Predators- 7/10
the third predator film and it's long overdue. Frankly I'm dissapointed, you couldn't help but feal it was doen quite lazily and the storyline structures aroudn the first film (which is referenced quite a few times). But it's not all bad, it's a good action film featuring exciting effects.
If I'm honest, I was expecting to learn mroe about the Predators and their planet. But all we know is that there's more variants and species, which spend the most of the film running around and killing humans. I think there should be sequels -and ones that actually progress the series.

Evangelion:1.11 new movie thingy

oh look who's late to the party

Basically it's the first six episodes of the TV series condensed into a little less than two hours, and for the most part it was done well. The new stuff blends seamlessly enough into the old footage that it'd be hard to tell what's what unless you've seen the original, and the battle with the 5th 6th Angel is a lot more exciting and dramatic now. There's also no more moments of silence or internal monologue lasting ten minutes so that's good. On the other hand, sometimes it feels like maybe a little too much was cut at certain points; Shinji's interactions with his classmates take up a whole 20 seconds of the movie and pretty much the only part that isn't super-serious is the scene where Shinji moves into Misato's apartment but then again Evangelion is srs bzns so yeah

The credits threw me for a loop as soon as I heard Hikaru Utada singing the new ending theme, I couldn't help but be reminded of Kingdom Hearts so it was a little weird. Cruel Angel's Thesis/Fly Me to the Moon is too classic to replace.

Most of the dub voices are different except Shinji's, Misato's, and I think Fuyutsuki's and a couple other minor NERV people's, but the replacements are decent enough (Kensuke's in particular is a huge improvement (then again his original dub voice was about the worst damn thing ever so improving on it isn't that tough)) other than Gendo's whose new voice sucks hardcore. Haven't seen the subbed version yet but from what I could tell from the credits, most if not all of the originals reprised their roles.

Admittedly, most of my excitement came from the preview for the next movie, which is apparently where the story starts to change drastically from the TV series.
Spoiler: 2.0 preview
Some new girl with glasses showing up? Unit-05? UNIT-06?! fffffffff-

Oh yeah rating. Uhh I'll say about 8.5/10 I guess, I'm bad at numerical ratings.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice (2010):

Saw it with my dad yesterday, and I was fairly impressed. The CGI was wonderful, the soundtrack was rather nice, and they even used the legendary Mickey Mouse scene with the mops and the special hat (well, ring in this case), complete with music. The fact that it was set modern-era with a sheer amount of electrical equipment only made it that more hilarious.

That said, there are a few problems I have with the thing. For instance, why exactly does the villain want to take over the world (OF COURSE!)? Never explained, actually. I guess we're supposed to fill in that bubble ourselves. It wasn't that much of a problem though. The main problem I had was that they tried to sound scientific to explain their magic. Namely, something about using the "unused 90% of the human brain" to manipulate the real world. At first this was simple stuff like lighting stuff on fire, but it quickly because outlandish, such as transforming one of those standard Chinese dragon things they use in parades into a real dragon, to rapidly changing their cars in a chase scene (even once making it a dump truck complete with dumpster), all the way to trapping people inside mirrors. Wat. If they had just said "It's magic, deal with it." instead of trying to sound scientific, I probably wouldn't have had the same confusion that I did later on.

Aside from some of the plot holes and logic loops, I still would give this movie about an 8/10. If you can ignore the strange going-ons with the plot, then you can probably enjoy the entire movie, even if you just want to see them re-use the Mickey Mouse scene with a modern science lab.

A thriller about a hooker and a cop... some good stuff, but it's cuts out the action way to much

Die Welle- 10/10

My God, this film is AMAZING. Really makes you think about fascism and it's pretty scary how even though you think it couldn't happen in today's society, the kids get really into it once they've begun...

A real surprise ending too- I really wasn't expecting it to end that way~

Watch it. You won't regret it, I promise :3

Death Note: The Movie

Yeah, yeah. It got a pretty bad reaction, but it was enjoyable. Kind of cheesy in some parts, and Ryuk was horribly animated, but it kept my interest and even had a neat plot twist-type thing near the end that I wasn't counting on. Not the greatest movie out there, but certainly better than what people are saying.

7/10.

Inception 9/10

The beginning... Well, you would just be like "...What." During the first quarter of the movie [though it is pretty entertaining], but later on, you'd figure out what just happened. The concept is brilliant, the gravity and dimension-defying was very amusing, the fight scenes were awesome, and the story was genius. By the end of the movie, not only will you understand everything that happened, but there's also a strange twist that you'll think about even after the movie's over. And the climax is SOOO suspenseful. First time I've literally been on the edge of my seat in years. It's worth watching it in the movie theater and buying the dvd instead of just renting it. It's possible for them to make a sequel, but it doesn't seem like they will. I sure hope they do.

Rings of Death

The acting, the dialogue, actions, and plot were so boring and predictable that it hurt.
Stopped watching halfway.
