Seriously, how can you rate a Twilight film over... over anything Pixar produced. Specially the Toy Story series. Specially Toy Story 3. And even more considering that the Twilight films, ignoring the books, are nothing more than "star" vehicles for Robert Pattinson, that no-expression girl and a bare-chested "werewolf".

Needless to say:

Toy Story 3: 10/10

Simply perfect. Not only as a film, but as an experience. I laughed, cried, stood up, and I'm pretty sure I blinked less than 5 times during the whole run.
The animation was breathtaking. The plot and script were unbeatable for the concept. And don't get me started on the ending.
Without spoiling anything, I'll just ask: what is it with Pixar? Why is every new film of theirs a better attempt than the previous one at making us hate ourselves for the day when we abandon childhood? From the very first Toy Story, the first feature film ever to use computer-generated images, to the very last one (maybe forgetting Cars, which was prety much null), their films are what I, as a lover of any kind of animation, will remember the most of my childhood in ten or twenty years' time. God keep me from ever ignoring a Pixar film in my life.
Also, the pearl was definitely Day & Night. As some Up producers said, it was unlike anything Pixar had ever produced before. One of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. We're talking about Walt Disney-level revolutionary here.

I completely agree. It's almost as if Pixar's prime directive is to make childhood memories for both kids and adults. Toy Story 3 was so well-done, it makes you really think about others' emotions. At least, for me.

Night and Day was amazing. It's the same idea as all the Pixar shorts, but, as always, they managed to do something really different. I really liked the style of the two characters, which is very reminiscent of old Disney animations over Pixar's usual CG. In fact, the whole thing is very old school Disney. The two contrasting characters ending up as allies, the big band, adult reference, it's just fantastic.

I concur to all that you said. I was late into the theatre so I missed most of Day & Night but what I saw was great.

But yeah, TS3 was absolutely freaking perfect.

When DeMat tries the whole "being a dick in a funny way" it doesn't work.

Re: Toy Story 3 - I NEVER want to see it. EVER. Simply because I've (accidentally) read spoilers and if I saw it, it would make me want to slit my wrists.

Anyway.

Just watched Face/Off for more Nivola action. 8.5/10.

Title: Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance
Certificate: 18
Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FyK2KFjAyI
Staring: Kang-ho, Shin Ha-kyun and Bae Doona
Director: Park Chan-Wook

Plot

The first half of the movie centers on Ryu, a death factory worker who is trying to support his ill sister who desperately needs a transport. He wants to offer his kidney but he is not a match.

Ryu gets fired from work and desperately needs the money for his sister's treatment. So he and his girlfriend, Yeong-Mi plan to kidnap his former boss' daughter for the ransom.

Ryu and Yeong-Mi's plans go wrong: very badly. Which leaves Ryu's former boss desperate for revenge. Things become a bloody mess.

What I thought of it.

I'm going to keep this as spoiler free as possible: It's a great movie. The acting and writing in this film are great. It makes me feel bad for Ryu and his ex-boss even though they are both crazy and desperate idiots. There was lots of tension in the film and plenty of gore for those people who love films with lots of blood. I can see two morals into it. The first one: Karma is a bitch. The second: we should look after and cherish disabled people.

Overall rating: 7/10

Jurassic Park~

I don't think I need to explain anything about the plot- you've all probably seen it and if you haven't, where have you BEEN all your life? This has to be my favourite film of all time- great plotline, amazing CGI (even by today's standards and this was made in 1993) and the scene with the Velociraptors in the kitchen is SO GODDAMN TENSE, it gets me every time :3

10/10 for sure ^^

Vampires Suck. It was awesome! It addressed most of the stupid, pathetic things in the Twilight and New Moon movies. It was funnier than I thought it'd be, and definitely not a lame rendition of the original movies. The best part was the very last line in the movie ;)

Toy Story 3D: 9/10.

I give it 9/10, because I didn't think it was as good as TS2, which is the best IMO. :godot:

But this one was still brilliant. The near-final and final pre-end-credits scenes are just heartbreaking though. :larry:

Star Trek: First Contact- 9/10

The best of the Next-Gen movies for me, second only to the Wrath of Khan. I like the sci-fi-horror edge it has. :D

Please don't flame me for rating a Star Trek movie on par with a Pixar movie.

Inception. 39/42, because it was one of the first (recent) Hollywood movies I've seen where the backbone was actually... (gasp) the writing. It had a phenomenal plot, well-designed characters, and a well-made world around each. Plus, the biggest sex scene was a quick kiss, and that wasn't even romance. One of my Top 4 favorite movies of all time.

Also, I heard "Vampires Suck", well, sucked.

The Producers 8.75/10

Arguably one of my favorite movies, I could watch this again and again, I love the show, love the movie, my only dislike was the movie was a little long, and Matt Broderick hammed it up on a couple instances.

Scott Pilgrim VS The World - 10/10: Awesome, nostalgic, fresh. I was so sad to hear that this movie did poorly, because anyone who has ever owned a retro or even recent game console should see this movie. Hell, the jokes were good enough to see even if you weren't a gamer. And the band was cool; while I don't listen to their genre, the soundtrack just fit into the movie so well.

Salt - 6/10: In one word, confusing. The fighting was cool, but Salt just went through many pointless scenes, only to have it go through a horrible story (which also ends in a lame cliffhanger).

The Other Guys - 8/10: Good action, hilarious jokes, and the cast was really likable. A few problems were that the story itself sounded forced, but the movie itself seemed to drag on. Otherwise, imagine Will Ferrell trying to be tough, that's hilarious enough.

Dinner for Schmucks - 4/10: *facepalms* This was one of the biggest disappointments of my summer. While there were some really good scenes that made me laugh, the majority of the movie was lame attempts at jokes and awkward scenes. Excuse me, wasn't this supposed to be a comedy? You know the standard setting: intro, plot, comedy, issue, resolve, and ending. During all this, the comedy is supposed to be fluid so we don't lose interest or forget it's a comedy in the first place. Let's say Dinner for Schmucks had a setting like this: intro, plot, issue, issue, issue, issue, comedy, issue, resolve, and ending. 'Nuff said.

Toy Story 3: 7/10
way overrated, but I enjoyed it though.
I only watch mature movies for mature people such as myself.

Kickass: 9.5/10
Pretty awesome, I loved the FPS scene. It can be kinda cruel, but I liked it.

Terminator Salvation: 9/10
I love the terminator series, this one had much similarities with Halo. It was the second time that I watched it this month.

My best friend's girl: 8.9/10
I'm not very fond of the romantic comedy films, but this one was great, all of the other ones are "predictable" you always know how it is gonna end, and what's gonna happen next. I loved the fact that I couldn't predict what was going to happen.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine : 9/10
I enjoyed this movie very much, I'm not a comic guy, but I never knew that deadpool was a villain.

Kung Pow: 10/10
If you want to have some laughs, watch this movie. Pretty awesome, fun and great movie.

Sleepy Hollow - 7/10. I love Tim Burton - Big Fish is his best movie, hands down - but this one disappointed me a bit. It would probably get a 6/10 if it weren't for the fact that Christopher Walken plays the headless horseman.

To tell the truth, being a kid, the concept of this movie was very hard to grasp all at once which is a major reason why my rating is pretty low. Some parts were cool, like when the narrator got stalked by the guy in the car and the ending, but overall, it seemed kind of boring.

Grown Ups- 4/10

TBH, I only went to see this film because my friends and I turned up at the cinema, intending to spend a lovely hour or so squealing over Michael Cera only to find that they weren't showing Scott Pilgrim vs the World at our local Odeon.

Sooo, I ended up having to endure an hour and a half of Adam Sandler (I HATE THIS GUY) bumbling around the screen, cracking crappy jokes. Despite being predictable as hell, horribly schmaltzy in places and barely funny, it had an odd sort of charm to it- the only reason why I didn't walk out of the cinema halfway through~

Hmm...Oh right. The last movie I saw was Iron man. Yeah I got to it a bit late. I found it entertaining, but it just seemed kind of...well... I don't really know how to describe it. Just Stark's character I didn't really care for. He didn't really seem like a Super hero to me. The effects and designs were great, but as a Super hero movie it seemed lacking to me. I've probably just been spoiled by the two new Batman movies. Plus there is the issue of volume. I was watching it from the Netflix instant watch, and since they don't have subtitles on there, for the quiet parts I have to turn it waaaay up, 2 seconds later there is huge explosion which blasts my ears out. Just kind of got on my nerves.

Over all I guess a 6.5 out of 10.

Last movie I saw in theaters was Toy story 3, not in 3D. Even for the second time it was still incredible. I'm not going to go into it as much as I did Iron man, but it may be my favorite Pixar movie now, and those are pretty much all my favorite movies. So I'd give it probably a 9/10. I don't do 10/10 because that would pretty much imply perfection, and I've yet to see the perfect movie.

The Last Airbender: 8.9/10
Pretty awesome movie, I liked it.
I heard that this movie was a huge disappoint, but I really enjoyed it.
So, don't see it if you're a fan of the series.

Next on the list: Inception, "Batman III: City of Scars" seriously, I found this, I think it's a knockoff movie or something, the guy from dr. who appears in the cover, I think he's the riddler. Gonna check it out.

Yeah, Adam sandler`s a bit dodgy.

Resident Evil Afterlife: 7/10
Resident Evil is one of the very few game's movie I like. This one wasn't as good as the first one, who's my favorite but is as good as the second and the third one. (In my opinion)

Mortal Kombat: 6/10
I liked this movie a lot when I was younger... But now that I'm a fan of the games, I think this movie is not very good... But it's still manage to make me laugh... And Kano (R.I.P. Trevor Goddard) is hot :bellboy:... So I give this movie 6/10.
Godot and his coffee cup, an eternal love!

Adam Sandler's old movies were great. The most "recent" one I saw was The Longest Yard and I liked it.

Happy Gilmore: 5/10
There were some funny parts, most of it was boring. Well, golf is boring.

Billy Madison: 8.5/10
This one is really fun.

Wayne's World (1 & 2) 8/10
The second one was more entertaining.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor : It'd give it a 6.5/10

The Happening: 6/10
The movie itself was great, Shocking in some parts.
It was all great, but the end was so... I mean it ruined everything.

The Crucible: 7/10

Things like the occult, to the extent of relation with the paranormal, interest me greatly. This movie did not bring that interest to mind. Daniel Day-Lewis scares me now. "LEAVE ME MY NAME-" *shot*

Rockman.EXE: The Program of Light and Darkness: 9/10

I loved it! Now, knowing that my time as a Rockman fan has been HELLA short, it's safe to say that my love for this movie is true, right down to Bass.EXE being an awesome character in my book. I'm still sad that Capcom left out the true relationship between Netto (Lan) and Rockman (Megaman), but DAMN, this movie was still good. (DON'T JUDGE ME!)

Oh, and bonus points for Shuko and her inspriation character. <3

Paranormal Activity: 8/10

FUUUUUUU- I love scary stuff, and this fueled that, but I'm NEVER watching it again. I just don't want to.

Mirrors: 9/10

Same for Paranormal Activity, only the ending made me sad for the main character. By the way, did anyone know you can see a Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles and Negima?! poster in the little boy's room?
