It probably ruined mirrors for everyone else who watched it, too.

It was funny when I saw the poster, because my sister saw it before I did, and she started laughing at me until she told me what was up. XD Yay for being the only anime fan in my house.

Up - 9.5/10. Touching, funny, unique, exciting, gorgeously animated... It's the best Pixar movie I've seen yet and it's been waaay too long since I saw one of their movies. Sadly, Up is bound to get a shitton of shitty rip-offs.

The last movie I saw was X-Men the Last stand. I came in late to the series and didn't see the first one until a few months ago so this was my first time seeing it. The movie was incredibly disappointing. I went into a very in depth review on another site, but I'm not going to post that here. All in all, probably a 4 out of 10. It wasn't a terrible movie, but it felt very lacking to me.

Legend of the Guardians - the Owls of Ga'Hoole gets a 7.5/10 from me. It had absolutely beautiful visuals, designs and action sequences. Every single detail, with the exception of those...pellet things, was completely gorgeous. Also, I was really happy about the Aussie slant :P

However, while I don't want to sound like I'm going 'THEY CHANGED ONE DETAIL FROM THE BOOK! RUINED FOREVER!!1!', I couldn't help but feel the amount of time spent on St Aggie's and the brainwashing was way too small. I found the whole 'moonblinking' deal and how creepy it was to be one of the best things about the book. They spent about 5 minutes on it in the movie, but I guess that's a small nitpick from me.
Not just that: because the movie is basically 3 books stuffed into 2 hours, a lot of stuff gets skipped over very quickly, in a way that makes the plot hang together a bit shakily. There's tons of plot points, but they're all a bit rushed.

Anyway, this was a great movie. Still definitely worth seeing.

Exit Through The Gift Shop - 10/10

Awesomely made and funny documentary about history of street art and the art itself, made by no other than the famous Banksy. Not even boring for one second and recommended to anyone who is a fan of uniquely done, underground art. (:

Coincidentally, it was another Pixar movie.

WALL*E - 8/10. It left me a bit disappointed after the greatness that was Up, but it was cute and had some really powerful scenes - such as when the captain realized what happened to Earth 700 years ago (I still remember his line, "I want to live, not survive"). Also has an important message.

Really? I thought Wall-E would at least tie with Up. I definitely wouldn't be disappointed as a result of watching Up as I think the message from Wall-E was more valuable to us. Plus it's good seeing humanity triumph in the credits.

I just finished watching Kick-Ass. It was as entertaining as I hoped it would be, despite the gratuitous profanity and violence, and the controversial performance from Chloe Mentz. Not that I care.

I ended up watching it on the plane back from Cuba. I will be watching it again, due to the fact it was the airline version, which had all the swearing and violence cut out of it, taking away a lot of the film scenes. After that I watched "The Bounty Hunter" with Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston. I had to go wash my eyes out after watching it. Possibly the worst film I've seen this year.

My Neighbour Totoro- 9.5/10

What can I say? I really enjoyed this film. The animation is mostly flawless with great characters that are interestign and don't feel forced. I love the way Mei says exactly what her sister does, very cute. I also love the random craziness of it all, like the cat bus or totoro himself. It was a good movie, it loses half a mark for me because I think the story could have had some more dramatic events other than Mei getting lost, however, seeing as its a kids movie and they were trying to keep it simple, i'm fine with it.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - 6,5/10

The first half of the movie was actually nice and kind of cool but then... the story just got more and more bizarre (which I presume is George Lucas' fault...).

Spoiler: wtf
seriously, aliens? that's like putting aliens into a Pirates of the Caribbean movie. It just doesn't work, at least not for me.... though the skulls looked cool.
The ending was a happy and predictable one but I guess it was alright. The movie was okay but not the best thing ever. It's just one of these films that you can watch when you have a lot of free time and/or are really bored.

Yeah but I have mega objections to his 'Ideas are bulletproof' statement especially when he's wearing a bulletproof vest.

That's like bringing a torch to an ancient undiscovered civilisation and claiming to be a sun god.

Sure there is.

Like how the girl's Dad is the best character in the film with the chin of a god while the mum has some serious junk in the trunk.

@CP- HOW CAN YOU TELL? I will look into those films but I got these three for my birthday so, I don't really have any others. I did look through amazon at some of those though, and they sound great, especially howl's castle.

@Pierre- Nah, Noface is the best character. But I agree with everything else.

Kiki's Delivery Service- 8/10 (MORE GHIBLI?)
This film is very nice, yet again the animation from what I can tell is flawless and the background art looks cool too. The characters all have beleivable personalites, but my favourte character is Jiji the cat. I love his sarcastic vewis on the world and what Kiki does xD ALthough it seemed like there wasn't as many deliveries as there could have been, She could have met so many more different people...Maybe its a good thing they kept it down, I dunno. And Ursula reminds me of someone I know in real life, so she was a good character as well!

Enough of me moaning about Ghibli films already.

Disney's adaption of the fairy tale the little mermaid. I like it. The stand out scene was Ursula singing poor unfortunate souls.

It was hard for this movie to fail. With Aaron Sorkin and David Fincher on board, a story so trivial was wonderfully told. Who knew the history of Facebook was so dramatic?

Beautiful in both visuals and audio, which is to be expected from the guy who created Les Triplettes de Belleville. Very strong characters, and an incredibly bittersweet ending; you won't know whether to smile or cry.
10/10

Also featuring a cameo by Winston Payne circa 3-1!

Does EPIC FAIL/10 count as a score? No? Okay then, 1/10
And I'm not exagurrating, this was just a failboat of a movie, first off, much too much unesacerry swearing. A little is fine, but in EVERY SENTENCE there was some swearing. Yeah, not needed. Also, non-funny sex jokes, blah blah blah and the plot was just OMGWTF

Historically totally wrong (but it'd been better like it happened in the movie) yet very entertaining. Also great actors, I got shivers everytime I saw Lander, but he changed in a wrong way in the end of the movie, imo. Still a great movie I'd choose to rewatch anytime again, bravo Quentin Tarrantino

Can't wait for a dvd release, which is, according to Fnac, in February 2011. Oh, and a soundtrack release. Music was so beautiful, it'd be a crime if it went unreleased. Hell, the OST to Triplets of Belleville was released (of course, I have it), so I don't see why this should be any different!

Also, just putting it out there, but I'd do Alice. No bones about it!

Great movie, one of my all time favorites... I love Russel Crowe.
I can't really say anything about the movie, without spoiling it for those who would still like to see it...
The story is really touching, and it's not fiction, that's the most fascinating part. It made me cry.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 - 10/10

What extreme issues the last movie had was made up for by the accuracy of this one!
Spoiler:
Seriously, it was very close to the book. I didn't think it could have been so right, but it was. The beginning of the movie gave me a lot of flashbacks to the first one, which I think was the intended effect... Because it's been ten years since the first movie, I had forgotten some elements even though I own the movie XD

Having said that, it also shows just how much the movie series has changed since the first film. Everything is so much darker, and it should be. People were complaining about that but no. It's not supposed to be cheery.

And Dobby's death scene made me cry so much... Wonderfully done, but really sad.

My Super Ex-Girlfriend- 7/10. It was funny, but at points it seemed as if the writers had no ideas so they wrote random crap. Honestly, throughout the course of the movie, I seemed to get more and more tired until I gave in and took a nap. And it was only five pm.
