haha. It was this previous Wednesday that there was a catagory in the 2nd round dedicated to anime.
the archive for that day is here, might need to scroll down a bit.

but it's mainly classics (Akira, Sailor Moon) and Princess Mononoke and then...Transformers. which isnt even japanese originally :yogi:

Wow, I can't believe someone messed up the Transformers question. To be honest, I'm a little surprise that they did an anime catagory considering like 90% of the contestants would never willing sit down and actually watch some anime. Unless, like their children dragged them into it watching it.

I think the Transformers answer was completely confused with a video game.

Or the woman who answered wrong was oblivious enough to confused it with Bee Movie...which she also got the title wrong.

Though I'd figure the 2007 live-action bit would give a hint at least.

Times are changing, and with a lot of anime recognized by American mainstream media it isn't too surprising to me that it's made it on Jeopardy! as a category. The questions were simple enough anyway, but I guess challenging for those who are only vaguely familiar with anime.

I'm kinda laughing at the guy who got "Akira" wrong though(he said "Akiro").

What's really sad is the woman who said something pertaining to Bee Movie just because of the mention of Bumblebee when Bee Movie isn't even anime. :lana:

Hey they worded that one weird. I mean thats my favorite movie ever but I didnt know what they were talking about. I mean I know she's princess of the spirits but not a princess princess.
