Post subject:  What did you watch when you were young?
Since I'm a sucker for nostalgia, this kind of thing interests me. XD

What TV shows did you watch when you were little? Are there some you don't like anymore? Some you still like?

Remembering this kind of thing can be good! A few years ago I remembered watching
"Cardcaptors" when I was in elementary school. I wanted to watch it again so I looked for it on Netflix. All I could find was a series called "Cardcaptor Sakura". Close enough. But thenI was surprised to find that it was completely in japanese with no dub! (of course there were subs) I soon realized that "Cardcaptors" was another sick mutilation of 4Kids that I was too young and naive to realize. However, because of a childhood TV show I found one of the greatest series I've ever seen: "Cardcaptor Sakura".

I liked other TV shows when I was young. I was in the generation of the Pokemon craze so I was completely obsessed with the show. XD I also liked stuff like Beast Wars, Reboot, Digimon, and a lot of Muppets stuff. When I was REALLY little I absolutely LOVED Bear in the Big Blue House. <3

So I'm curious. What TV shows did you like when you were little?

I never really watched much anime when I was young.
I was always the girl drawing the Powerpuff girls. Adored them so much!
But I also totally adored watching all those old nickelodeon shows. All that, Kenan and Kel, the Rugrats. Classic.
Also loved Boy Meets World since I was in 6th grade.

I loved PPG and Rugrats too! :D I was never really into the live Nick shows. I watched Boy Meets World sometimes.

I loved Kenan and Kel and All That. I also used to watch The Adventures of Pete & Pete with my brother, but I don't remember it much.

Rugrats turned me off. There was something about the animation style I didn't like. The plots were okay but....Damn. :lana:

When I was like 6 or 7....Somewhere when I started school...

Super Mario Bros. Super Show.

This included the Legend of Zelda segments and the Captain N stuff.

Some mornings I would see Reboot or Tales from the Cryptkeeper.

I actually watched something that wasn't a cartoon late at night!

Remember Don Adams? Yeah. Get Smart.

Candy Candy (yeah, don't ask), Koutetsu Jeeg, Starzinger, Mazinger Z, and Great Mazinger, Gaiking, Daltanius, Transformers: Masterforce, Magne Robo Gakeen, Saint Seiya, and several other series I can't really remember. =p

The ones that stand out is the older 1970's version of the Willy Wonka movie as well as a bunch of Ray Stevens music videos on VHS, which I watched almost all the time. I also grew up with Walker: Texas Ranger, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, The Price is Right, and various other things.

When I was super little, I couldn't get enough of Barney the big purple dinosaur.

I also loved Sesame Street, and Plaza Sesamo, the spanish version, lol.

Around 1st or 2nd grade, I loved Monster Rancher and Pokémon especially. I STILL love watching the old first season of pokémon - I have the part 1 and 2 box sets.

Around 5th grade, I watched shows like Johnny Bravo, Samurai Jack, the Powerpuff Girls, and Ed, Edd, and Eddy. I was a Cartoon Network FANATIC. I also loved the show Grim & Evil (Now known as The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy) and I always stayed up to watch Cartoon Cartoon Fridays. And how could I forget Dexter's Laboratory? I loved that show to death... I think even earlier than that I used to watch Scooby Doo. I must have been about 4, though. I don't remember.

I don't remember much from there on. My memory is fading fast. I don't remember much up until the age of 13. It's like an empty void... >.<

Dude, I watched Independence Day, Jumanji, and the old Willy Wonka CONSTANTLY when I was little.

Game shows count? :P In that case I'd have to say I grew up with Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune as well.

Yes, me too. I totally forgot about those... I'm surprised I could recall most of the shows I used to watch. I guess TV really mattered to me...

Oh, I just remembered.. Arthur and Looney Tunes. Both of which are actually very awesome, Arthur is great for kids, Looney Tunes is great for EVERYONE.

I loved that commercial because of all the random colors of doom that flashed. I would turn off the lights and stare at the wall.

LOL You're not the only one, that facinated me too. And then I also tried to test out the responsiveness of the remote control when I was little. I'd see if the signal it sent would "bounce off the walls" and if it would work if I covered up the sensor on the remote itself.

-Mr. Roger's Neighborhood (I LOVED that show. I cried when he passed away.)
-ZOOM (I can still speak fluent Ubbi Dubbi. ;P )

(I never had cable when I was a kid. I only got cable last year. I watched a lot of children's shows at first, since I never got a chance to before. Mostly Spongebob and the Fairly Oddparents.)

I never watched Barney and I never saw the Arthur character. I remember in Grade 1 when we were supposed to make Arthur masks with the papers we had...I had no idea wtf was going on. Who's Arthur? Why don't I know this character?...Why am I doing this again? :lana:

DBZ, Yugioh, Pokemon, Spongebob, Fairly Odd Parents, Kids Next Door (me and my friends were crazy about that show, we actually wanted to make our own KND, more recently, but still a while ago, me and my friend saw it on TV and laughed about how obbssesd we used to be about it), and Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy (Was anyone else dissapointed that the other half of Grim and Evil basically died?) are some of them.

A lot of Tagalog-dubbed anime I don't remember the names.

Of course the older seasons of Pokemon, and notable examples of Sailor Moon.

And the horrid Nelvana dub of Cardcaptors of course. (where's mah cardcaptor lezbianz?)

Much of the cartoons I watched were mentioned so many time already.
