Well, I'm excited. The new movie is out today...I can't wait to see it. I'll drop a review once I see it.

Anyone else going to see this movie? Anyone else a fan of the series as well?

Chris Carter has mentioned that if this does relatively well, he'll pen a third movie that isn't as standalone as this, and would deal with the alien invasion arc that was discussed on the show. Here's hoping we get that flick.

ITS OUT TODAY?!?!?

Yes, I am a fan of the X-Files. I Have all the episodes (along with the movie) on DVD.

I also own 'the X-Files game' for the Playstation and 'The X-Files- Resist or Serve' for the Playstation 2 (Both of which are pretty bad)

Now if you please excuse me, I'm out to catch the new X-Files film.

I haven't watched the series in so long. I'm going to try to rent the entire series from Blockbuster and rewatch it. I might wait for the DVD release of the movie though, since I love having closed caption turned on so I pick up on what every one is saying.

I took this picture of the hotel I stayed at when I went to Anime Expo in L.A. It was pretty cool how the picture is painted on the building, and not just a poster.

Overall, it was a good movie, and I'm satisfied. As many reviewers have mentioned, it felt like an extended episode, but that isn't bad. Xzibit was actually decent/tolerable in the flick...

Spoiler: Plot details
The plot/storyline was cool...Mulder being in seclusion was fun...I chuckled when they were recruited and arrived at the FBI and they played the theme when they panned over to G.W. Bush.

When Scully called in Skinner, I smiled, too bad Reyes or Doggett weren't in the film.

The after credits scene was corny, though....I was expecting something more appropriate.

I hope we get a less standalone film like Carter wants to, if this does well.

I give it 7.5/10

Is it any better than that first movie? The first movie didn't even feel like X-Files.

I liked the first movie better, however, this new flick feels more "X-Files"y and as reviewers of the film have mentioned, it felt like an extended episode (not a bad thing). You'll definitely feel like you're literally watching The X-Files on the big screen, as opposed to watching an X-Files film.
