Yeah, I have seen it, and I really like that movie. My favourite part of that was the wedding.

I had considered making a Mamma Mia topic myself. ...Good thing I checked. Anyway, after a good long time intentionally and unintentionally stalling, I finally watched Mamma Mia for the first time this afternoon. I expected to spend the entire movie wearing a wry smirk, so I was very surprised to find myself getting teary-eyed...twice!

Favorite scenes: (teary-eyed moments starred; I may not be remembering the song titles correctly, so please bear with me here.)

"You always knew how to make an entrance."
***Watching the "dads" reminisce about Donna on the boat***
Don't Go Wasting Your Emotion
Donna's meltdown leading to "Chiquitita"
Sam's proposal
***When All is Said and Done***

There were also some moments that made me smirk as expected, but I found myself quite enjoying the movie as a whole. I suppose this makes me a convert. Men might profit from watching it. I was going to ask how this movie is going over with our generation of women--former disco babes have been known to literally dance in the aisles during certain scenes, I hear--but it appears you may have already answered that question. So let me ask another: Did you find yourself relating to any of the characters? If so, whom? I found myself relating rather strongly to Sam...

The movie was pretty awfully directed.

She tried to direct it like it was a broadway show instead of a film, which made it pretty... awkward?

Yeah, that segment in the trailer where Whatserface is singing THE WINNER TAKES IT ALL was fucking cringe-inducing, but I thought maybe they just cut it wrong

Except the entire movie was like that

For those who didn't know (the two-main character;one getting married and her boyfriend) are actually boyfriend and girlfriend in real life but only came together whilst filming :edgy: Very interesting :edgy:
Also I do like it but it isn't the greatest film in the world, not sure what would be my fave song though? :yuusaku:

Did anyone realize the entire soundtrack was origonally done by ABBA? It was part of their Gold Album. The origonal versions were better than the ones sung in the movie. (My favorite song in the soundtrack would probably be Lay All Your Love On Me, cause I kinda like it's dark feal. And I mean origonal, not the Mama Mia Renditions.)

That's kinda the point. All the changes were actually made by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus- the 2 members who wrote the songs for the group. They also were heavily involved in the writing of the broadway show it was based on. *is a musical nut*. I myself actually prefer the Mamma Mia versions of some of the songs, but I agree, some of them are better in the original versions.
