I know this was in the news a while, but WB was saving the Harry Potter movie for the summer of 09 and all the fans went NUTS! :redd: I hear they were saying stupid stuff like: "I cannot breathe, cause you ripped out my heart." or "Those greedy @%*# just want our money! Lol. Get a life, people
I hear they've been called "Potterheads." More like Pottermouths! :acro:

While I see their reasoning (being in the business sector myself), at the same time, it's idiotic, especially when the film is pretty much (if not completely) done. I wouldn't be as mad if they had to delay filming, or if they pushed the date back to add more scenes (ala Snakes on a Plane)...but they're not going to, the film is done and they're shelving it until summer because of how Order performed...this is strictly for monetary purposes only. This is corporate greed at it's finest. I'll laugh if it doesn't do as well as Order did last summer, since that's what they're aiming for....Potter movies aren't even summer type movies, they're best suited for the fall/winter.

True, however, people can be so whiny about it. To the extent of death threats, even.

That's true about any fandom, though. Pointless to single out HP, or any other fandom. But it is funny to read how they do go nuts...I remember reading one about I think it was Futurama, and how fans went to lengths to get it back on air.

I'm a true, hardcore Potterhead, and while I consider this decision to be mildly wise in marketing terms (because I agree this kind of movie is not suited to be a summer blockbuster, but rather one for the holiday season), I also consider the people's reaction to it as stupid, childish and nonsensical. I mean, come the hell on, guys, it's a fucking movie. Unless you clearly live off Dan Radcliffe's... bodily fluids, you're not gonna die because of waiting a few months. Jesus Christ.

Lol, yeah. It's kinda funny to read their quotes. I can imagine one like: "It's Thanksgiving, and there's nothing to be thankful for!" lol

I hate Potter Fan F*cks. But I'll give them this- They are less annoying than the whiny Twilight Fangirls.

Twilight fangirls are corrupting my school. They travel in packs.
The book wasn't even any good! It had all the stupid teen stereotypes,
lousy, akward, writing.

Hey, hey, hey. Don't be hatin' the Potterheads. I'm a hardcore fan myself, but the generalization that all of them went mad after the release date was changed is both unnecessary and unfair.

Warner Bros. decided to move the release date simply because the fifth movie, which was released in July of '07, earned more money at the box office than any of its predecessors. So, they figured they'd release the sixth in the summer as well; though by the time they decided this, the summer of 2008 had already passed. So summer of 2009 was the next available choice.

Also, they didn't want to release it this year for fear that Twilight's release would overshadow Potter's. Guess they didn't want the competition. Though Twilight was set to be released a month after Potter 6 was.

Sure, it's annoying, but hey... it's the movie industry. Some Potter fans are winy little ass-wipes... but not all of them. So lay off.

I will agree. Obsessive Potter fans can be REALLY annoying. Although, I never see girls arguing in the halls at school at who gets Harry, like they do over who gets Edward Cullen, which annoys me to no end.

BOTTOM LINE: He's not real, and if he was, he wouldn't like you.

REAL BOTTOM LINE: Potterheads annoy me, but not as much As Twitards.

I cant say im a Potterhead myself, but I do enjoy the films and books. The delay in the 6th movie is a good thing for me! I just recently decided to finish reading the book series so it gives me time to catch up. Currently on Order of the phoenix.
