I just had a look for a thread for The Simpsons and couldn't find one! Unless I'm looking in the wrong place... so lock this if there is already one please, because I find it hard to believe that there isn't already a Simpsons topic.

I just heard about it on a random gossip website. It has a new opening sequence;

FEAR THE CHANGE!

It's not massively different, just a little tweaked.

And also, The Simpsons rules.

So whaddaya think? Do you like change?

I personally really like it :edgy:

I like the changes, although I think that it goes on for a bit longer than I liked.

The TV falling off at the end was brilliant though.

Lets just hope the quality of the actual episodes is as good as this.

I'm hoping that the actual title is only the first minute, and that the last minute is the usual couch intro thingy LOL

This will definitely be cut down for episodes that run the standard length. We'll probably only see the full version on Sundays or during syndication for episodes that are running short, and they couldn't think of anything to add to it (i.e. odd paused voice over for a building and such).

The long bit was just the couch gag for that episode. It's usually only a few seconds :godot:

I like it, overall. Some nice changes, more characters get spotlight (CRAZY CAT LADY FTW) and I like the touch at the end. After all that, the tv falls off the wall...XD

I think the "GBA" visual gag will be a recurrent in the series from now on. Dunno why, just... think :\

I can't wait 'til Season 20 premiers here. It's usually the 3rd/4th Sunday of May, so that would be on the 24th? Meh, I'll just wait.

It was alright, I suppose. A bit too crowded near the end, though I suppose that's more for the fanservice than anything, so it's not a big deal. The TV falling off at the end is a nice touch, too.


I'm sure I'll get used to it by the second or third new episode, just like everyone else probably will.

When I was 14 I was so obsessed with the Simpsons it wasn't even funny (the obsession I mean). I think I still have a wad of the comics!!!!!!!

And I have a Bart doll with a burnt nose and permanent moustache I drew on with a pen thinking it would wash off.

I'm pretty much with Orca on in this case. I don't mind the crowded part too much, I just wish they would have slowed it down a bit so we can actually see who is who.

I think it was kinda point to make it HD but a new intro has been long overdo. Most shows usually have sort of updated intro after a few seasons or so. I'm just glad they kept must of basic elements like Bart Skateboarding and Homer almost getting run over.

Thanks, I always look for referencey details in The Simpsons. Why? Because they always insert them. A LOT of them.

I have a book somewhere on the Simpsons. It's from the beginning of it up until 1997 and has details about what each episode is paying homage to. It was really good reading it and going "oooh so that's what it was about" X^D

I think it was about 50p from a charity shop hahaha

Some of the pages are ruined though coz I used to read it in the bath LOL

I think tomorrow I might try and dig it out and I think I'll read some of the comics :edgy:
