For whatever reason it's been on my mind lately. I haven't seen the original trilogy all the way through in at least 5 years. I started rewatching it last night. I made my way through a New Hope and Empire and OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH SHIT did it get me hyped. I was so pumped all through A New Hope. Then I watched Empire and I kept my "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH SHIT!" attitude RIGHT UP UNTIL Boba Fett spoke. And then I remembered my DVDs were the ones with the dumb alterations. So Boba Fett sounded like a dumb New Zealander for his whole 2 lines. And that pissed me off. Then I saw Luke get his hand chopped off and I was less pissed off. Jedi's going to be super awesome, but I'm not looking forward to seeing Hayden Christiansen that dumb sonofabitch. So go on and have stupid nerd fights and such in this topic. It'll be great. |

I'm almost convinced it's older than Star Wars itself and George Lucas just wrote 3 movies based on it. It'd make sense CONSIDERING THE QUALITY OF EVERYTHING ELSE HE'S DONE! OH MY GOD DO I HATE LOVE GEORGE LUCAS. You see. These are things I have not thought of in a very long time. More and more I've been feeling the feelings I once felt long ago. Is George Lucas the most amazing person ever to live? Or is he the most despicable? I think I can explain it like this: George Lucas had one good idea. It was an awesome idea and he wrote it into 3 movies. Then he made money off of his awesome idea. Then he didn't make as much money as he used to. Then he took his one good idea fit for 3 movies and made 3 more movies, two TV series, infinite books, video games, episodic lunch boxes, and so on and so forth. And that's how we end up with this wonderful explosion of terrible crap we have now. It's something I struggle with every night before I go to bed. |
