Interview with a Vampire 8/10

Pretty interesting take on the vampire genre.
Way better that today's 'modern' vamps like Mr Shan or Cullen.
I especially liked the ending but for something thats generally not the kinda film I'm interested in I enjoyed it.

After the suspicious death of his professor in Switzerland, West moves to Miskatonic University to continue his research. He involves fellow student Dan Cain and his fiancée Megan Halsey in his research by experimenting on their dead cat. Dan, fascinated by West's research, agrees to smuggle him into the hospital morgue with predictable results."

Stella.... 6.5/10

It's this movie about this 12 year old girl shown at some film festival sometime ago...I'm sure it's a beautiful movie and all but right from the beginning, I knew something pedophilic was gonna happen.

My suspicions were confirmed near the end. She got raped by this one dude.

At another part, the girl gets out her dad's rifle and tries to shoot the man her mother is having an affair with. Her dad is the one who taught her how to use it...

HAhahahaha

Wrong.

Totally disgraced the terminator name.

Spoiler: My reason why
They had the boy, the dad. Now a supervillain might use the boy as bait to draw John to them but these are cold hard machines they just go BANG game over rather than keep him prisoner. Oh plus Christian Bale sucks.

1. I was only 13 at the time.
2. My parents are overprotective and, to this day, haven't let me see a movie alone.
3. Even with Adam Sandler, it was only PG-13, but I guess that doesn't mean anything nowadays.

Also, it's not like it was only my parents. I had friends with me. But that would've been murder if it was only them. :gant:

The overly-long sex scenes, you mean. I expected them to be just as short as the three panels in the comics, but no, they had to drag them out for FIVE damn minutes with really bad music playing along and obvious time editing.

Ah well. Director's Cut will make up for that.

Not really, it was the directors cut I watched according to Father.

I thought they were needlessly long and felt the ending was ruined a little. Not so much the change of the threat more just how it was carried out.

Pokemon: Arceus and The Jewel of Life = 8.5/10

Not the best Pokemon movie I've ever seen, but definitely not the worst.

Spoiler: Thoughts going through my head as I watched it. In chronological order with spoilers for the movie.
-Whoa, Cynthia vs. Palmer
-Arceus sounds like a senile old man.
-Dawn should wear that swimsuit more often. All the time, everywhere.
-Oh my god, ANOTHER SHEENA?!?
-"Transcend, the confines of Time and Space" over and over and over again.
-What? So now they're best buds all of a sudden?
-Jessie looks old.
-Wobbuffet can say "Yeah!"?
-Lol, arKeus.
-JUSTICE FOR ALL
-Um, giving back the Jewel of Life does not mean everything will go worse again.
-HAHA, I KNEW IT WOULDN'T BE THAT EASY!
-You mean blasting DOWN again.
-Why doesn't he just disintegrate them all into tiny bits of dust?
-OMFG, DID ARCEUS JUST CALL DIALGA A MAGICAL CREATURE?!?
-TIME TRAVEL.
-IT'S A TRAP!
-Whoa, he's got a Heatran.
-So apparently, Pokemon were called magical creatures and trainers were called creature masters.
-However, Pokemon names and moves are still the same.
-Why do the ancient people speak English?
-WTF is up with that Pichu?
-Why don't Ash, Dawn and Brock just send out their remaining Pokemon and break free? The guards were too dumb to take your Pokeballs.
-ROFLMAO, the 10th, 11th, and 12th movies have all been Markus's fault!
-Yay, Johto starters.
-Yay, Pokemon slaves
-Ha! He got hit in the head with a big metal plate!
-Long Flashback is LONG.
-The ol' bait-and-switch, eh?
-Holy crud! Team Rocket found the Jewel of Life! Does that mean they're gonna be important to the plot now?!?
-Nope.
-IT'S A TRAP! AGAIN!
-What is that stuff? Mercury?
-Silver Water, my Arce, that's probably cement or lead or something...
-Oh, so THAT'S what he meant by changing history!
-Ooh, they're holding hands.
-Of course magical creatures live in the shrine, you've got a whole dungeon full of 'em.
-How the f*ck did he get so agile?!
-They're not disintegrating fast enough.
-Dude, it's not like he died, he just went back to the future.
-Touching is good.
-Just throw the Jewel at him, it can't break so just throw it to him.
-God DOESN'T know everyone he created and he certainly doesn't love everyone.
-For the last time, you're not gonna die just because the Jewel is gone.
-Whoa, did Markus die?!
-Things aren't back to normal? This is a messed up time-paradox.
-Haha, poor Brock. No not really, you suck.
-LOL, INCEST.
-Hey, it's those dudes from the last two movies, and Darkrai and Shaymin too!
-Oh, he's alive...
-FINALLY, ORIGIN FORME GIRATINA!
-Wait, wasn't there supposed to be a shiny Pichu in this movie?

The Princess Bride: 8.5/10
Funny, interesting, and very quotable, but my friends hyped me up for it, so I dunno, I suppose I was expecting something more. Besides that, it's worth watching for the inside jokes.

And I got a nice new TV over the weekend, so I re-watched a movie that I knew would look great in Hi-Def.
Coraline: 9.5/10
I love, love, love this movie. It's creepy, but it really makes me wanna be eleven again (or twelve... how old is she exactly?), just being left to my own devices and seeing possibilities for adventure everywhere. I only took off .5 because of that very random, disturbing scene with Miss Spink and Forcible. As funny as it was, the first time I watched it, I was doing more of the "oh god make it stop" awkward laughing than "haha" laughing, especially when there were parents next to me in the theater shaking their heads in disbelief.

No no the film sucked the story was abnormal and made no sense. The excuse "it's supposed to be whimsical" doesn't fly for me with the amount of plotholes that film had.

Star Trek: 8/10

It had a good story line, but Kirk seemed too loose and I really don't support Spock-Uhura. Nevertheless, it has a very interesting alternate universe twist.

2012: 9.5/10

The movie is awesome. It's really amazing what you can do with graphics. But it's not the best movie ever.

The Love Guru- .005/10

Seriously, why the hell did my friend choose to watch this movie!? I tried to tune it out by playing the Sims 3, it worked...a little bit. The movie was *not* funny at all. I didn't understand why Jessica Alba's character would fall for that Love Guru guy. Seriously...*shakes head* Eventually near the end of the movie, both my friend and I just ignored it and she played my DSLite and I played TS3 on her computer.

Bordertown - Rating this movie was rather hard. I'll mark my review in spoilers.

Spoiler:
Nice portrayal of Juarez and it's outlying colonias. Aka Anapra, where residents make homes from cardboard that's discarded from the Maquiladoras. Lopez's acting was fine but a bit over the top at points. I fairly enjoyed Banderas's performence. From his concern to his opinions. There were a few scenes that didn't make much sense, like at the end where Lauren and Eva were in Daybreak in Anapra after they killed the suspect and they put makeup on to hide their bruises and dirt and other impurites. Since the colonia was set on fire and they went right into the heat. Also when Lauren is at the Chicago news office where she trashes all the computers and other electronics since she claims it has the blood of Juarez on them, when she doesn't realize that there are Maquliadoras across the US-Mexico Border and those computers could have been made in Mexicali for all I know.

Blaming NAFTA (North America Free Trade Agreement) has some merit. But the extreme level of violence in the Juarez Femicide can't be explained by Poverty and gender roles in the workforce, even by Hispanic standards. Why the Carrilo Fuentes Drug Organization/Juarez Drug Cartel was not mentioned at all made no sense and brought down the movie. NAFTA alone doesn't add up to this femicide.

Acting: 8/10 (Only because of Antonio Barderas)
Scenes: 7/10
Plot: 6/10

Overall: 7/10
