I went through with my "explanation" to my parent.
Watching it may be a little easier for me now.
Only one problem I suppose though...
I did it without telling my parent the show was about "ponies" or telling my parent the actual name of the show.
So basically I told my parent I'm into the show without actually telling them what the show was.

They chose to add more shows that focused on RANDOM shenanigans such as Adventure Time rather than focusing on more organized concepts such as Dexter's Laboratory. When watching Adventure Time, I just questioned the writers' and the animators' sobriety whereas when watching Dexter's Laboratory and Friendship is Magic, I walk away from the experience respecting the show's ability to tell a charming story while making me laugh and very rarely I'll feel emotional from the latter show.

Ahhhh... can't wait to see Princess Luna <3 I really hope that 'making an appearance' doesn't mean five seconds of her blinking next to Trollestia and then being whisked away again for the rest of the season.
And I wonder if there'll be an overarching plot, or if Discord will be around for two episodes before our ponies get back to normal kooky hijinks.
