The prequels weren't that bad... but yeah, they were pretty bad.

Is anyone here an EU fanatic? I wish I were, but it seems so time-consuming...

Hey now, Episode 3 was pretty awesome.

I used to love the EU when I was a kid. Stopped reading after the Hand of Thrawn duology, though.

The original Star Wars is far superior to the prequel episodes, but as a whole series, Star Wars will always be my fav.

Well, to CantFaketheFunk's credit, it did have many lovely explosions. However, the original three were much better. We could have watched them at school yesterday, but noooo, people HAD to vote for Napoleon Dynamate. *grumbles*
My friends and I always argue over who's better: Luke or Darth Vader. Personally, I much prefer Vader... what do you guys think?

After episodes 1-3, I'm not sure anymore.

I guess Luke is less lame now.

Forget Luke or Vader. Han Solo is the most awesome Star Wars character.

Anakin was just lame before he became Vader, who turned into this awesome villian who can breathe and talk at the same time. And I'm sorry, but Obi-Wan's an idiot.

*Obi-Wan and Vader are dueling*
*Luke runs into the room*
*Obi-Wan turns and smiles at Luke*
*Vader cuts him in half*

Look, you don't take your eyes off the enemy. That's pretty much buying yourself a ticket out of life.

Episode 3 was the best of the prequels--not as good as the OT, but still entertaining. It felt like it captured the "adventurous" spirit of the original movies the most, and it did have some genuinely good moments.

And despite the prequels being kinda crappy, Ewan MacGregor was a fucking FANTASTIC Obi-Wan.

Ep 3 was visually spectacular, but CFTF, you got slammed by Croik, lol.

The 3 prequels have been visually awesome, but lacking in direction, unlike the first 3. They should re-make the first three with the new actors, and the new special effects and what have you.

Well, there's my two penny's worth.

Mark Hamil performed career suicide by being Luke.
I think Anikan is much better than is pastey, whiney son with lacking powers.
I really liked the prequels, and I think Ewan MacGregor was very much the best part of them.

There were plenty of A-list actors on the cast, but as everyone saw the script and direction were sorely lacking. Ewan MacGregor was the only one who seemed to rise above and beyond the morass of bad storytelling, though.

On that note, I still expect to see good performances from Hayden Christensen.

My peeve with 4-6... yes, I do have one...

Is that the old ending will never come back. I fracking HATE the new CG ending they slapped on.

The prequels aren't as good as everybody says they are.

The Phantom Menace was good, but too many elements from it were reminiscent of Return of the Jedi; Attack of the Clones featured Hayden Christensen's WOODEN ACTING; and Revenge of the Sith featured EVEN MORE WOODEN ACTING, which was made up for with the abuse of special effects.

But I have to admit, ROTS was the best of the prequels in my opinion, but that's mainly because General Grievous was there, along with Sidious in action, and because we got to see Vader again.

The original trilogy can't be beat, though. It's still such a bloody shame that the 2004 edition replaced Sir Sebastian Shaw's head with Hayden Christensen's. Bah. Sure, disrespect the man and paste a mediocre actor's head on his body. -.-

I guess Ian was cast well as Obi-wan, but I couldn't get over the fact that he was a complete and utter jackass in the second movie. I'd turn evil, too, if he was harping on me the way he belittled Anakin. Not that the little punk didn't deserve some verbal smackdown, but they were at each other's throats the entire time.

And then best buddies at the start of the third :D

Except for that whole....high ground thing. And Obi leaving his pupil to slowly burn to death in agony. Now THAT is the way of the Jedi!

Anders and I saw 3 in the theatre, and I had to literally clamp both hands over my mouth to keep from bursting out laughing during the last 20 minutes. From Anakin slaughtering babies to Padme's "You BROKE my HEART!" to "Nuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!" how could anyone stand a chance? I hadn't laughed so hard since Julia died XD

Medicholorians + horrible acting + even more horrible writing + high ground = serious luls. But not good movies.

George Lucas just can't do love scenes. Hell, look at the original trilogy, Han Solo and Leia's scenes were pretty bad there too.

But episode three just combined too many lolz at once.

classics are the classics

SW 4-6 was win imo. no need for a remake. hated 3 cause if the way that they had rushed the ending to tie it with ep4.

the character interaction was a bit cheesy in the prequels. i hated how they let obi-wans master die in a similar fashion to how he himself dies in ep 4

I think it was rather well done. Most of the set was actually built. Such as the scene with obiwan standing on the ridge next to the lava flow. Of course we all do know almost most of that entire scene was shot with Blue Screen but, why let that little fact sppoil the fun :D.
