I would say this is a better way to get into SRs than New Shin Getter Robo, because this seems to be a mech show for people who don't like mechs more than anything. As evidenced by lame ol' Headbang willfully ignoring the power of 10000° of manliness flooding through your veins. |

New / Shin Getter Robo seems to appeal more to people who already like their robot shows hot blooded. I'm not sure why GL has such a huge appeal outside of super bot fans, save that I guess it's new, by Gainax, and popular on the intertrons, which means people who would probably normally ignore it are all over it. It's still a good show though, even when you take away the fan hype. I really do enjoy the homage to mecha / sci-fi eras that Gainax is working into things. (I would like some more Harlock homage, please.) In before Viral Marketing |
