I used to read it--it recently ended, and I saw the ending, but I haven't really read it in a while. I thought NHK was a pretty good series--it balances being dramatic and funny, although later on it tends more towards a sort of bittersweet tone.

Watching the anime right now, but I generally pick up the manga soon after I finish a show to see the differences in content.
