Though it had been previously announced some time ago that Production I.G. had acquired the rights to the series, I never thought anything would really come out of it aside from maybe a rerelease or a one-shot special, or at the most a remake. Hopefully the sequel can hold up to the original. At the very least it needs a similar awesome soundtrack.
