Watching Breaking Bad. Where has this been all my life?! I'm hooked on the show and can't believe I didn't watch it while it was still on air, even when some friends told me about it. Currently on Season 3, episode 10. |

I just got to Episode 27 of Death Note after binge-watching for two days The show started to get a little shitty after episode 15 but it kind of pulled in the reins a bit and got good again, but now it's even shittier than I ever could have imagined. I honestly don't know if I'll keep watching (I mean, I probably will, but very slowly and only under the obligation to finish what I've started) |

Watching The Blues Brothers. Been in a mood to watch this movie in such a long time. Gonna be watching old classic movies that I enjoyed in the past. |

Found something called "Fillmore", by Disney. Basically an animated parody of a 1970's hard boiled cop show, but taking place in school, with kid-friendly versions of crimes (scooters being stolen instead of cars, sweets/candy being smuggled instead of drugs, etc). Solving the crimes are the safety patrol officers, instead of the detectives. It's so hilarious, especially since it takes itself so serious with its hard-boiled nature, and for the fact it's supposed to be for kids, yet everyone is a parody of who you'd see in a 70's cop drama. |

I was watching the original Karate Kid movies (well, the first three) and I have to laugh at the "rival" in each one. It's like they wanted to find the most ridiculous, most unlikable over-the-top macho bully straight out of Alphashitstainville. #oh80s |

Just finished watching 7th Episode of Nichijou Anime. Heard it has only 26 Episodes. Well, that figures. Even being a really amazing SoL Anime, it has a low number of Episodes. On the other hand, started watching Mirai Nikki. Finished Episode 1. Spoiler: Too bad I can't watch lots of episodes in just one go. |

I've started watching Ranma 1/2 because panda. |

I really wish I was more into anime, just because there's so much to choose from, but sadly, I've only watched DBZ from start to finish ever. I tried with Naruto, but it reached a certain point where I stopped caring, and then in Shippuuden it felt like the goal post was constantly being moved like the writer had no idea how to end it and I stopped watching it. My dirty little secret is, I actually watched a lot of To Love-Ru way back in 2008 or when it was new and I actually quite liked the first season with maybe 13/26 episodes being complete filler. It's totally a perverted series, but the humor is great and the characters are funny. I'd probably not think as highly of it today, but when I was 16-17 back in 2008 I thought it was the shit and I watched it with a friend of mine who also thought it was really great. TLD is something I will not speak of as it really is starting to be downright hentai-ish or something because they keep pushing the envelope and it kind of lost its charm. On a completely different note though, if you're into science fiction movies, do try to give the 1997 movie "Contact" a chance. It has cheesy moments, but it has become one of my favorite movies of all time. It's basically the same plot as Interstellar at its core (at least in terms of central theme) but it doesn't have a complete bullshit ending and it is just a much better drama without the action-packed spectacle of a Nolan film or the dizziness of a hokey Nolan plot. |

Is anyone here also trash for idol anime? I'm watching High School Star Musical right now. It's really new and I love it a lot. As an additional question, any recommendations for anime similar to HSSM? I hear K-ON's pretty good... |

With Halloween right around the corner, I decided to try watching a creepy anime series, so I picked Higurashi. I just finished the second arc, and it's downright creepy at times, but part of me is wondering just what the front door is going on. Had to stop watching it last night, because I didn't think I could handle a third arc so soon. I'll watch more tonight though. |

Recently finished the second season of Review. May I suggest that you all watch it if you like really black comedy. It gets soul crushingly dark, but Andy Daly makes it all hilarious. Here's a clip of one of it's lighter moments https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92aKaMA8Arw. Anyway, more recently I've also been watching The Grinder, which is the best new sitcom this fall season, despite being pretty standard fair - I think with different lead actors it could have been a much worse show, but Rob Lowe and Fred Savage are great in their roles and I also went back and re watched the recent Muppets movie, which is a lot better than the new 'edgy' Muppets ABC show, which while funny it its own right, borrows too heavily from other similar shows, and misses the point of the Muppets entirely. (I think I may take American sitcoms way too seriously (maybe it's because I'm British (Or maybe it's because I over analyse everything I watch, and sitcoms are easy to watch??))) |

C-A That part where Goku got hit in the Gotens was the best part. I loved the callback to the Cooler movie. "He punched me in the dick!" "Yeah, not so funny anymore, is it?" Also glad they had Goten disappear in the future, as a result. C-A |

Finished the main Higurashi storyline. Trying to watch the OVA's now, although I'm just a little confused now about... Spoiler: Higurashi Kai and Rei spoilers About the only reason I can think of is that the first and last Rei episodes aren't mean to be treated as canon, but Rika explicitly references the events of the first Rei episode in the second, so I'm more confused now than I was when the Watanagahi arc started. On another note, I'm also watching Arrow and The Flash. |

I recently came across Xidnaf's channel. Linguistics has been a fascination of mine for a while, so I pretty much started an archive binge of his videos. I was quite pleased to find that he mentioned the Scots language (not to be confused with Scottish Gaelic and the Scottish dialects of English) in one of his videos; we English-speakers often have trouble getting a proper sense of how languages can be related without actually learning a second language. One thing I'd love to do one of these days when creating a fantasy universe is actually create real languages for the universe's inhabitants--none of that cipher language nonsense I've seen in some games (looking at you, Final Fantasy X and Star Fox Adventures). Learning about how languages evolve may well help set me on that path; even if I never create a language from scratch, I can "evolve" an existing language. |
