I don't know why, shows just bug me if they go on longer than that...I usually can't watch a show consistently if it has tons of episodes. D: but that's just me.
I agree with the Pokemon thing though. I used to be a fan, but only with the first two or so seasons...after that it got old really quickly and gets worse every day :(

for me? I'd have to go with Inuyasha. The show has been running on Cartoon Network for so long now, and I'm sure the entire series has been shown already, they just keep starting it over to milk it out. The show is done, stop airing it and show something else! I mean, cartoon network gave the axe to the following as soon as they finished: Outlaw Star and Mobile Suit Gundam: The 8th MS Team. Ruroni Kenshin too, It was doing great, but they stopped after the shishio story arc, THERE WAS MORE EPISODES YA KNOW!!!!. I'm sure there are others. I would've added One Piece, but the shows dubbing and Editing was so bad that they had to scrap it because, I myself, other hardcote fans sent angry letters/emails that it sucked that it didn't stay true to its Japanese counter-part. I mean, Sanji with a popsicle?? HE F-ING SMOKES, WHY THE HELL DOES HE HAVE A POPSICLE!!

Sanji will still have the lolipop in the new dub episodes but thats TV broadcast only. They will keep the cigars but they have to be unlit so the FCC will accept it.
At least its better than filipino television.

What do you want kids to watch? Elfen Lied? 4kids may have done some horrible edits to one piece and others but they were for kids anyway. Why would you want to watch something for children anyway?
though the al kahn saying that the kids don't read today is partly true. My teacher asked the class 'what is their favorite book character'. After a while she had to change the question to fictional characters because it was taking too long.

Because it seems that half the things they dub were actually for preteens/teens, not...well, kids.

One piece, yeah I could understand since it is for preteens but the other stuff? Especially Pokemon(Who still had plenty of Japanese references) .
And a lot of people took Al kahn out of context thats for damn sure. He meant a lot of kids today don't like to read and that they'd rather go on the internet or watch TV. Which is mostly true. The anime fandom isn't as nation wide as most fans would like to think. Manga is also JUST being discovered by kids and teens that don't usually go for this stuff. Despite being released for YEARS.

ITT we complain about kid's shows
Except the common (and appropriate) argument against 4kids is not that they license "kid's shows," it's what they do to them--excessive editing, "babying" of shows, and in the extremely abortive Tokyo Mew Mew attempt, "De-Japan-ification."
Were 4kids just simply a company that licensed shows aimed at the younger, tv watching (mainly this really just means 'not old enough to buy dvds at Best Buy') market, that'd be fine; what 4kids does though is pretty horrendous on either side of the fence--one option is to say they feel American children and audiences are too sensitive and cannot handle anything 'mature,' or that Japanese shows are great financial properties that need to be 'properly fixed' before being acceptable.
But I do agree that people need to get over themselves about it--4kids rather disastrous One Piece run and years of bad press has more or less done the job many wished to do with more force; they're barely even an entity in the industry now.

That is where it should have ended, anyway. With the exception of a maybe fifteen episodes, RuroKen was pretty much done being a good series at that point. Kyoto arc was great, but after that the series went downhill rapidly. Don't even get me STARTED on the Feng Shui arc, or the final episode. Fucking pink shell.
...And you know, they couldn't have possibly shown the Son of God arc. Fundamentalist parents would've thrown a fit!
In fact, RuroKen is on my list of shows that should've known when to end.

But I do agree removing MTV and it's predecessors of the air. Nothing is good on and all they air is Real World and other crappy reality shows.
