I'm just trying not to get my hopes up for this one. I also heard that the guy who plays Ando in Heroes is auditioning for the part of Yamcha.

Why do I have a feeling this will be as bad as, if not worse than Dragon Ball: The Magic Begins?

This can only get worse if a Live-Action Naruto movie is announced.

@Jibo: You're thinking of the magic begins, the unofficial Korea movie.

I heard of a rumor of a live action movie back in high school...but I didn't think it was possible.

I wander how they are going to pull it off.

I've heard many rumors before as well. If this is real, I welcome it. First anime I fell in love with, so it better be awesome in live action form.

It means he doesn't like Naruto at all.

Anyway, I knew they bought the rights to a DBZ movie, but I never thought they'd greenlight it. Well, I dunno what to say. D=

I wonder how useless they will make Krillin in the movie. He had so much potential, but he was put aside for the saiyans. I got upset when all it would take was one hit from the enemy and he would always say something along the lines of "Go on without me guys!" Seriously though, I would love to see an actor portray a short, noseless, bald man.

If anyone watched Kung Fu Hustle; Stephen Chow's producing - I'm hoping that his expertise and connections to the Hong Kong studios would help make the actual kung-fu sequences not suck.

There was a Akira live action scene done in a Kayne West video, it was pretty cool to see that. I think the video was "Stronger" towards the end.

There was a Akira live action scene done in a Kayne West video, it was pretty cool to see that. I think the video was "Stronger" towards the end.

There was a huge rumor about AKIRA being made into a live-action movie a few years back too. I quit believing that one pretty quickly. AKIRA's popularity has decreased rapidly over the years, despite how great it is and how much potential it really would have in a live-action form. And yes, the video by Kanye West that has scenes of AKIRA acted out in it is Stronger. I'm not a huge rap fan, but I recommend that one for everyone. I loved it, music and video.

The "rumor" about a Dragon Ball Z live-action movie started back in 2001, because that's the year Fox bought rights to make it. Since it is a fact that they bought the rights, I don't know if it could be considered a rumor or not. Just because the rights have been bought doesn't mean they're going to make it, but it would be kind of pointless if they didn't plan on it. The only thing I know to say about this is that we'll see. With those kinds of people being behind it, it's very likely to be a great movie. But at the same time, it's hard to imagine a live-action movie with people flying, shooting energy out of their hands, and having visible energy surrounding their bodies. There's probably a lot of other crazy things I'm forgetting. I've been waiting to see this for years, because I knew it would eventually happen.

The hype just died down for me a lot because they took FUCKING FOREVER. It took them nearly 7 years after purchasing the rights to even get started. Damn. :grey:

Actually, I'd be more interested in a Ghost in the Shell live-action movie. Though, people would say it's so 'Matrix', and then the people who know better would scream and say 'The Wachowski's were inspired by Ghost in the Shell douchebags!' but the idiots will run rampant and it would not sell...

...My brain is fried, I'm rambling.

Anyway, the Sci-Fi channel supposedly bought the rights to Witch Hunter Robin and were going to make a live-action series based on it. That was about...3-4 years ago? I think it's pretty much never going to happen, I'm not even sure if they bought the rights proper.

Pity. I liked Witch Hunter Robin's concept, but it got too draggy for so long before it ramped up in the last few episodes, and then fell flat when noone knew what the heck was happening and why =/

Craters the size of Jupiter's moons, entire planets being shooke to the bone, punching through bodies, LIZARD-MAN (Frieza), giant monkeys shooting beams of condensed energy out of their mouths, a God of the universe who is outclassed in power by some nobody guy from a planet in the material plane, a God who's surpassed by a God, Gods who are surpassed by other Gods and have rivals with other Gods, etc.

Funny, that all the Gods in the universe couldn't defeat some stupid pink imp with a craving for chocolate. :yogi:

I've heard about this before (but notot sure why I made a topic of this).
As a former fan of the series, I must say that there are far more appropriate Anime shows (but I'm only into Seinen stuff now) that could use this treatment.

This could turn out worse than the live-action Super Mario Bros movie.
