So I started watching this and was like, "What a cute little boy"
This went on until episode 4 which then I was like "...that's not a little boy, is it?"

But it's a great series, at least I think so. Also proof that "HUEG YELLER TEXT" are not used in ADV's titles anymore. Fuck yeah

I love this series very much~
although I can't get the message from the stories...

when I tried to recommend it to my friends
they just said "not interested" and even not reading a single story
so I know nearly none of my friends who really love it...

^ Kino is a girl O__O She was running around in a dress for the movie and episode 4. AND in the novels she's often reffered to as a girl.

Anyway, Kino no Tabi is genius. Both the anime and the novels. Absolutely gorgeous stuff there *_*

I kept wondering what gender Kino was myself the first time I saw the trailer. The trailer didn't say "she" or "her" exactly. Only "Kino is a Traveler". Watched a demo episode of the first episode from the NewType magazine and eventually bought the thin pack DVD set, since it was such a bargain.

Basically the anime version has the order of the journeys mixed up but overall it doesn't matter since none of them are connected (except for a said few that deeply affect Kino's character or introduces a recurring person) and continuity is not a thing in the series.

In the still running novels Kino's origin is mentioned from the very start whilist in the anime it's somewhere near the end.

Nah, her origins are mixed around. She gets her second gun in the last episode I believe.
