Hey.

Anyone who's been watching the new series msy have found the 'secret word'. Like Series One was 'Bad Wolf', Series Two was 'Torchwood', and Series Three 'Mister Saxon'.

Spoiler: Theory time. I'm betting I'm right on this, so spoiler'd
The new secret word is 'the bees are dissappearing'. Or something to that effect. According to my friend, it's been in the Adipose episode, Planet Of The Ood so far (Although I believe it was said in The Sontaran Strategy, but I forgot when.) Also according to my friend, Eistein once said something to the effect of "If the bees dissappeared, mankind would have no more then four years to live".

[edit] It appears my friend was incorrect about Einstein saying that. However, it is widely believed Einstein did say that, so maybe RTD (or whoever bakes up these ideas) believes he did. However, my theory on the 'secret word' still stands. Bees are a bit random to chat about in a few episodes,

Spoiler: Dr Who Series 4
Considering that there is an episode entitled 'The Unicorn and the Wasp' coming up, you may be on to something.

Yup that is the story Ark keyword as far as I can tell, although I don't recall it in the Sontaran episode. It's a double episode though, so maybe next week will count. It's intruiging. I wonder how that'll add to the plot of the series.

So far overall, not their best series. Funny, but a bit tacky. It's getting better with every episode though.

Spoiler: Key Word
Davros is turning bees into daleks?
Yeah, I noticed the obsession with bees, but it doesn't seem to be happening frequently enough. I still think it's an arc, but possibly not the maine one.

Post subject:  Re: DR.WHO NEW SERIES

There's actually a bunch of 'Arc' words here and there, according to fan theory:

Spoiler:
Shadow Proclamation: First mentioned all the way back in Rose, since mentioned several times in series 4
Medusa Cascade: Mentioned in Last of the Time Lords, Fires of Pompeii, and The Sontaran Stratagem
The bees: Mentioned several times, might just be buildup to "The Unicorn and the Wasp"
Egypt: Donna goes to Egypt after The Runaway Bride, the family they save in Fires of Pompeii get work for something there, the manager in Planet of the Ood has seemingly Roman/Egyptian figures on his desk

And then there's 'something on Donna's back' and 'The Doctor's song soon ending' but those are more one-off foreshadowing than actual arcs.

But those are just scattered all over the place, so who knows?

Post subject:  Re: DR.WHO NEW SERIES

According to Doctor Who Magazine, there is no arc word this year.

Quote:
Doctor Who Magazine' 394's preview of "Partners in Crime" described the arc as "an element from every episode–whether it's a person, a phrase, a question, a planet, or a mystery –builds up to the grand finale"

I just finished watching the latest episode. Did anyone see rose just before donna saw the docter on the screen.
Also, i saw the next episode trailer, The doctors daughter.

I wonder whos the wife? I never saw any serious relationships in the series.

Also, 'Are you my mummy?'

I'm surprised that the Doctor didn't think of breaking the glass, instead of fiddling around with the exhaust....

Post subject:  Re: DR.WHO NEW SERIES

They're trying to make it realistic and say "the doctor can't do everything." I think. It's rather pointless.

I saw Rose as well, she was even credited at the end.

The Doctor may not have had any serious relationships in the new series, but he did have a grand daughter in the first so the relationship was before that.

Loving the new series so far.
In terms of greatness, the eps go:
Planet of the Ood > The Poison Sky > The Fires of Pomeii = The Sontaran Strategem > Partners in Crime.

Post subject:  Re: DR.WHO NEW SERIES

Ummmmm... How was "The poison sky" or "planet of the ood" better than the Sontaran Strategem?

For me it's:

The Sontaran Strategem > The Poison Sky > The Fires of Pompei > The Planet of the Ood >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Partners in Crime

Post subject:  Re: DR.WHO NEW SERIES

So far I'd say that The Poison Sky/The Sontaran Strategem are the best episodes, whilst Partners in Crime and The Fires of Pompeii were somewhat lacking.

And I admit that I missed Rose's appearence in the last episode.

It's a superquick (only about a second, maybe less) appearance: when Donna runs over to the screen when the Doctor's calling the Sontarans, Rose can be seen for a second on it mouthing "DOCTOR" (or "Donna", it's hard to tell) before Donna gets there and the signal changes.

Also, 'are you my mummy' made me laugh hard.

Post subject:  Re: DR.WHO NEW SERIES

I only saw her, I didn't see her mouthing anything.

I think that she was *probably* mouthing "doctor" as I don't think she knows Donna's name...

I personally don't watch the series (Please don't kill meeee!), but someone actually made a rickroll using scenes from the new series of Dr. Who and I thought it would be appropriate to post.

That's nothing on 'Father's Day.' When Rose and Pete are driving to the church, he has Rickroll playing on his radio. :keiko:

Also, @IR: We don't know if Jenny is Susan's mother - or really much of anything about her.

If RTD's writing tomorrow's episode, it's going to be awful. >_>

During the part before the Valiant comes down (with the gas masks), I was like, "Don't they look like...?" And then "Are you my mummy?" Horribly amusing.

I missed Rose, I admit. Does anyone know the minute it's in or so forth? I don't want to trawl through it for a blonde chav a one second appearence.

Well, it's a relief to know that, despite there being a good episode for the past two weeks, they are still producing appaling episodes to make up for it.

I really loved this episode too. It's Jenny-rated. *fails*

Especially the ending. The ending was great.

Sure, the plot was about as predictable as whether or not Beijing's hosting of the Games will cause controversy, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Spoiler:
I can't be the only one who groaned a bit inside when she got shot. OH JOY SOMEONE DIES AGAIN but at least they brought her back in the end. I like Jenny. :3

Also, Tabztress, can I use that sig on another forum?

Spoiler: The Doctor's Daughter
As soon as she starting talking about wanting to join the Doctor, I knew she was going to die at some point near the end of the episode. Simple as that. Although her being brought back to life at the end was a complete surprise for me.

Erm, Bolt Storm, seeing as you (seemingly) live in Winsconsin, how are you able to watch the episodes at this point in time? Have the BBC sold them to the US already? (Just out of curiosity)

As for a spin-off series involving Jenny, I'd rather there wasn't at the present moment.

It was pretty predictable...then again, so are most episodes I find. But I don't think that this detracts anything away from it though.

Spoiler: Next Episode
I'm looking forward to the next episode in which the Doctor and Donna will meet Agatha Christie. Apparently, Agatha Christie disappeared for ten days and this episode will 'theorise' as to why this was.

guess I'm the first poster for this episode, I quite liked this one, although I thought it was going to be a double-parter, guess the double part one is the "shadows" one in 2 weeks.

This new season is awful. The new companion is obnoxious.

Author:  Gerkuman [ Sat May 17, 2008 8:11 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: DR.WHO NEW SERIES

Donna's ratchedted down the obnoxiousness a lot more now, and the series as a whole has been moderately ok for me. It's still the worse one though, sadly :(

Post subject:  Re: DR.WHO NEW SERIES

I disagree, the Sontaran episodes and the Agatha Christie ones have more than made up for the utter appalingness of the rest of the episodes. COmpared to Series 3, this ones great, I don't think there was a single episode I liked in it.

But Donna is the best assistant!!

She's the only one who doesn't fancy the Doctor... And she's hilarious. Especially when the Doctor is working out who the Vespiform is.
