Does Anyone Watch X-Play?

They Review Video Games On G4tv,

I Remember They Reviewed Phoenix Wright Trials And Tribulations A 4 out of 5.

X-Play is terrible. Their reviews are unfunny and uninformative; anything you see on that show, you'll see on a gaming website but done ten times better. I've seen better reviews on GameFAQs, and that says something.

What really upset me was their review on beatmaniaUS for the PS2. Rip-off of Guitar Hero? Fuckers don't know that if it wasn't for Beatmania, there wouldn't BE a Guitar Hero.

EDIT: While I do ultimately agree with the score they gave to the game, the review itself was one of the worst I've ever seen in my life. GameLife was more acceptable. Yeah I went there.

I watch it every once in a while. I find it very entertaining. The reviews mean nothing to me since I'm not a gamer and I've never heard of the vast majority of games, but anyway.

I watch X-Play often, though it's odd, over here it's aired on Fuel TV, which is basically extreme sports. So you have extreme sports all day, except fo a half hour for Video Games. 0_0

And I do personally like the show. I dunno why, but I just enjoy it. They tend to give a good opinion on most games, and if people don't agree, then their job is done. ^_^
PS, All PW games to date have gotten 4 out of 5's. That makes me inexplicably happy. ^_^

I love this show for the little funny clips they play in between the reviews. Like when they mock certain terrible games. Or my favorite, the Aquaman review where they ate the fish. The game reviews are ok in my opinion, but sometimes they are way off.

What are you talking about? There were tons of games that got good scores with out having any violence in it.

The only good episode of X-Play was the musical, and that was only because Johnathan Mann was in it.

G4 has so many non-gaming related shows- It turned into the pop culture channel instead of the average/hardcore gamers channel.

They should not air COPS on a so-called channel for 'gamers'

Ironically, the only good show they have on G4 has nothing to do with gaming at all: Ninja Warrior/SASUKE, and that only airs like every few months or so.

I liked X-Play when they were in San Francisco. It started going downhill around the time they got a set with a bunch of spheres on the floor. Nowadays it's fairly unwatchable, which is a shame as I used to agree with most of their reviews.

Well, G4 hasn't been a gaming-specific channel since their current CEO took over, who wanted the channel to be more like Spike TV. That's why they have so many syndicated shows like Star Trek.


Not that a gaming channel is really necessary, though. With the internet and online play, half of their old shows were fairly useless, anyway.

Anyway, there was I time when I liked it, I swear it had a different Name back then, wayyyyy back when they were talking about kingdom hearts one and such, then, it just sort of...fell.

Adam, while sometimes I like the guy (He's got some decent views on game "Issues") Sometimes I really hate him too. Too often he never shuts the hell up.

Morgan would be an awesome lady...if she wasn't such a bitter little-

*Ahem* anyway, Bullet points, once they were good, some of their stuff is still okay and even SOMETIMES entertaining, but overall, this man feels like he could do a review show better (Or at least with a lot less bitter dickery.)

Just stating my opinion friend, I've no beef with you if you don't agree. Just saying he's really not a guy I'd want to hang with for a period longer than a half an hour most likely. I'm not being biased either, because I don't think I'd want to hang with Morgan too long either. They're just not my kind of gamers, hate to much, don't like enough.
