Post subject:  Anime to live action adaptation you're looking forward to?
It seems like in the next few years, we'll be seeing a fair amount of Anime being adapted into live action movies....are there any of them you're actually looking forward to?

Here's a short list off the top of my head of movies coming soon:

Speed Racer
Voltron
Akira
Robotech
Ghost in the Shell
Dragon Ball Z

Feel free to add on, these are just some of the ones I'm aware about


In all honesty, I'm not really an Anime watcher anymore, but I've seen all the ones I mentioned above...and out of those, I think Robotech has the most potential to be the best and most enjoyable to watch. Toby Maguire (who is supposedly going to fund/produce it) seems to be very knowledgeable about the Robotech mythos..so it could be a great adaptation.

The Death Note live-action is coming to the states, if you weren't aware already, but it's not my thing.

I am patiently waiting for the Dragon Ball movie (It's not DBZ, it's the one before that), but from the look of it, I think it's gonna be Super Mario Bros. all over again, unfortunately...

I'm still waiting ANN to announce the following Live Actions:

Yu Yu Hakusho (I want to see more of this series!!)
.hack// (CGI the "The World" scenes if you have to!)
Yu-Gi-Oh! (Because 4Kids can't touch a Live Action... or at least I hope not...)
Pokemon (JUST to see what they do with it)

NOTE: the ones I listed above with the exception of the Death Note and Dragon Ball movies aren't real. This means that they made the Death Note movie already and it's coming to the US soon.

Well, Speed's just around the corner, and the only other (somewhat) promising anime/movie is GitS.
I see mild success with Voltron, Akira, and Robotech (Macross?), and nothing but disappointment for DBZ (if the current sneak peeks are any indication).

So, how is that DBZ movie going, anyway?

None of these movies look interesting at all.

I wish they'd do a live-action remake of the first Project A-Ko movie, though I'm probably the only guy on earth who'd want this.

You know, wishful thinking suddenly made me want a Samurai X live action show. But... I'd rather not have one since they tend to mess the whole thing up and just disappoint you.

I'm not particularly sure how this will turn out compared to the original series, but ... there's the live-action 'Sakigake!! Otokojuku'.

Monster! they're going to make Urasawa Naoki's Monster, I really can't wait to see it! I demand all the cast would suit the races, like, Tenma should be Japanese and the Germans should be Caucasian... that would be really awesome.

OMG

though I really don't know how they could pull off Hiei and Kurama and make them actually look good. Those two have really stylized hair.
They would also need the shortest woman in the world to be Genkai XD

But a remake of the Dark Tournament arc would be HARDCORE.
I don't trust them to come up with good, new material (see YYH Movies 1 and 2). Buuut, the 2nd Makai Tournament might be cool.

Spoiler: YYH last ~10 episodes (seriously, I mean spoilers)
The original arc was kind of lame. It had a TON of potential, but then they were like "Lol lets fight for fun yayayay LOL the random dude won yayayay." If they did the 2nd one (or re-did the 1st one) with a decent antagonist and better fights than "I AM JUST SO STRONG, LOOK AT MY LAZERS" it would be badass. The problem was that everyone was supposed to be kickass at that point, so it just turned into bigger and bigger explosions to show how strong they were, unlike in the Dark Tournament and Spirit Detective Arcs where you could generally follow who was strong and who was weak and they actually had to use techniques.
Some of the demons would look pretty cool in live action. They'd probably have to CGI Mukuro, and that would be awesome.
Best fight in all of the Makai arc: Mukuro v. Hiei. That was rockin'. Yomi v. Yusuke was the 2nd lamest thing on the planet after Yomi v. Shura.

wow it might be a bad idea to reference YYH around me :sadshoe:

I'm going to see Speed Racer...and laugh. I don't care if it's bad. No matter what, it should be funny for at least 15 minutes. :P
