Case Summary
On The evening of August 6th, 24-year old Ace O'Hearts and 44-year old Maurice 'Rock' Solid met backstage of the very popular Dark Night Theater. It was an unusual meeting: The two were both vocals for bands preforming that night in a Battle of the Bands competition- Rock Solid being the lead vocals for the old rock band "Black Bear", which had been around longer that Ace O'Hearts himself, who was the lead vocals in the rising pop-rock band "Statement!" The two were known for their rivalry against each other, and tonight was the big one- Which band was truly better? Rock Solid was not known to have a competitive attitude- He viewed the whole thing as friendly competition. However, Ace was just the opposite- Barely an adult, Ace lived for competition and didn't take losing too kindly. he was reported to be ignoring any attempt Solid was making at a friendly relationship, but nevertheless was optomistic as always.
This changed, however, when it was announced later that evening that the audience had voted "Black Bear" the better band of the evening by five votes. Ace was then reported to be angry, snapping at any paparazzi that had somehow made their way backstage. It was then said that he was seen storming off to his room with his younger brother and 'Statement!" bassist, Jack O'Hearts.
'Rock' Solid appeared on stage again to accept his award, and the crowd went wild. There were rumors going around for over a year (When Rock Solid had won 'Rock Legend') that the vocalist was to be leaving the band, but nobody knew for sure in the audience. As Rock accepted his award, he told the audience that he had an announcement to make, causing them to simmer down. Was this it? They never not the chance. A whizzing noise filled the air- Once, Twice- and Rock Solid fell, two knives sticking out for his back.The crowd started screaming and made a mad dash for the exit doors, everybody backstage running out to the stage to see what happened. Somebody identified the knives as Ace's- He kept throwing knives in his bag after his best friend died in a car accident five years ago, and was paranoid of death. Two officers went backstage and found Ace O'Hearts standing in the only place where the murderer could have been, looking dazed and confused. They jumped him and he was arrested on the scene for the murder of Maurice 'Rock' Solid.

Details: Was reported going with Ace to his room after the announcement of Rock's victory. Idolizes his older brother like a God, and is 100% sure of his innocence. Very kind towards other people.

Details: The president and founder of the ‘Statement!’ fan club. A chipper and happy young girl, Chic was backstage at the time of the murder, standing a few feet across from where the murderer stood. She had a camera with her.

Occupation: The sound guy. Also works with cameras.
Details: The sound guy at the Battle of the Bands competition. A little clumsy, Mike was standing behind one of the cameras facing the stage the night of the murder. Due to sight problems, he wears glasses, which fell off at the time of the murder.
