He was pretty much dragged out of his appartment, wishing he'd had a chance to splash some aftershave on to cull the razor burn, but by the time he thought it, they were already out the door and heading down the street, the young Mystic pulling on his arm.
When they got there, Gumshoe was waiting.
"Hey pal. Hey, Maya." He gave them a nod. "So...uh..."
"So what is this about us getting kicked off the Defense??" Nick didn't wait for formalities.

[Miles]
"No, that is all. See you soon." He hung up the phone, and smoothed back his hair. "Well, she wasn't such a challenge. Bends easily, if I may say."

[Wright and Co. Law Offices]

Maya was completely stricken when Phoenix had stated the condition of thier case so bluntly. "What!?" She stared at Nick and then Gumshoe and back again. ".....What do you mean kicked off defence Nick!?" She looked horrified, it was a hightened over-reaction to the situation but then again that was what Maya was famous for.

[Miles' Apartment]

Amy sighed as she heard the phone click down, even though she wasn't listening she heard it. She looked around the living room of the apartment again and then started to pace back and forth a lot of thoughts on her mind.

"Hey, hey, I'm just tellin' you what I heard, Pal, alright? Let's not put me on the chopping block just yet." Gumshoe put his hands up defensively. Not because of Phoenix, but because he has seen Maya when she's upset, and it was never a pretty sight. That poor desk clerk...
"Here's the deal, guys...The Justice Offices are considering, CONSIDERING, taking you guys off the Defense, because under some technicalities, you could be classified as VICTIMS of the current case, since right now, your client, James Morin, is the prime suspect...Now listen..." He raised a hand to quiet Nick. "Right? He was the last one to leave your office yesterday...he was there long enough to maybe get a hint at where his cases case file was...and we picked him up last night a mile away from your office after Miss Fey here made the call, and he was carrying this..." He produced a small envelope and handed it to Nick.
Nick opened the envelope. Inside were a few papers and photos from the Dr. Grey Case, the Murder Trial that reunited him and Maya after she returned to the Kurain Village. Indeed, a part of the files that had been taken from the office. "Where is Morin now?"
"We got him at the detention center. No doubt he's waitin' on you two. We're just about to take the crime scene tape down...nothing left for us...come back after lunch, and the place is all yours, alright? I'll call you two later. If you can find something to prove he didn't ransack your office, I'm sure I can get the chief to relent on pulling the plug and making you witnesses instead of the Defense." He patted Nick on the shoulder, the color returning to the Attorney's face.
"Thanks, Detective..." He pocketed the envelope and turned to Maya. "This is a problem..."


Miles could sense Amy's uneasiness. He took it upon himself to be the confident one amongst them. "Don't worry so much, it's not healthy for your skin." He smirked a bit, giving her a pat on the back. "This will all be be taken care of, and we'll be one big happy family."

[Wright and Co. Law Offices]

Maya was staring at Gumshoe the entire time with her mouth gaping open. "...Wha....huh........No!!" She shook her head and placed her hands on Gumshoe's shoulder shaking him back and forth. "You have to do something Detective Gumshoe!! You've just gotta do something!!!" This is what happened when Maya paniced, she would become irrational. She had barly listened to anything Detective Gumshoe said.

[Miles' Apartment]

Amy looked up at Miles' as he was talking. "Okay." She nodded slowly, she was nervous of what that woman might say about her....no doubt she would want to find a way to ruin this for Amy. She looked at Miles' for a second, as if trying to examine his thoughts, he wouldn't believe that woman...at least she hoped he wouldn't.

"I guess...we have to go soon?"

Gumeshoe managed to push himself away from Maya's grasp. "Hey, hey, settle down, Pal! Trust me, I'm workin' on it. It's...not an easy situation..."
"Yeah, Maya...come on...We'll go talk to our...client...and then we'll settle this matter all out." Nick patted her on the shoulder.


"Yes...There isn't much room for error...but just to be safe..."
He went to the phone and dialed. "...It's me. Yes, I'm fine, I appreciate your concern for my well being...No, not at all. I have a favor....What are you doing now? Oh? Well, I need you go to the Orphanage on the other side of town...Yes, that one. Oh really? Well, I should be there about the same time as you...you and your partner stay outside. If I do not come out in half an hour tops, come look for the headmistress. Why? Oh...Let's just say past experience doesn't give this organization much room to be let off the leash, if you know what I mean...Yes, I'll see you then. Thank you, detective..."

(Ah, nevermind...I get it now Scraps.)

Maya let out a deep sigh and looked at Nick. "O-Okay..." she started to play with her fingers nervously not sure exactly whay to say.

Amy looked at Miles slightly puzzled but didn't question him as he started to call someone else. She wouldn't listen....no, even if she wanted to know what was going on she would just trust him....he was her brother after all. She simply started to pace again and then slowly headed to the door putting her shoes on.

[Outside Nick & Co's office]
Nick patted her again on the shoulder, forcing a smile. But deep inside, honestly, he wanted to cry. He didn't say a word when he hailed a cab, the only sentence leaving his lips being "Police Detention Center, ten bucks extra if you hurry."

[Miles's apartment]
While her back was turned, Miles slipped something into his coat as he threw it on. Something in his stomach told him something was going to happen today, and it revolved around Amy. Whatever it was, he wouldn't be caught flat footed.
A Von Karma never gets caught...
He caught himself...he wasn't a Von Karma...But he was certainly rasied as one. He gave Amy another reassuring squeeze on the shoulder and they left his apartment.

[In Cab heading for Detention Center]

Maya looked over at Nick, she was obviously distressed. She had learned a lot about how to read his expressions over the time she had spent with him. "Nick....I....." She barly muttered. During this time she felt like she had been a burden and that if Mia would have been here instead of her she could have fixed everything.

[Miles' Apartment]

Amy fake smiled at Miles and nodded trying to seem confident with this whole thing. The fact was that Amy didn't want to go back there....but this would be her last time there...at least she hoped so. Amy looked down and then started to walk with him as they left the apartment. Amy's stomach felt sick...this was definatly not something she wanted to be doing.

Bio: He was bron into a religous family, and in Britain. HE only really cared for one thing in religon, despite his family. And that was Angels. He become devoted to them. Books on angels, angel statue's... You name it. At 11, he entered Secondary School, and got top marks in Science about 7 years later. He engineered a pair of wings (skeletons of). thye were foldable, and he could attach them to his back. He did so at the age of 19. depsite his marks, he never found anywhere to work. Until he found out about KI, or the Kurain Institute. He asked for a job, and got it. He worked there for the nrxt four years, before meeting Lyon Nightcrow. Then it all fell to pieces.

(Okay, since there's two new people and four new characters I am going to place the oddly love struck Franziska at Wright and Co. Other then that I'm probably going to make another OC soon. If you're wondering about the love struck bit...read back and prepare yourself for oddness. lol)

Franziska has left her house, the night before was still one her mind...and yet at the same time she knew she couldn't forget her job. She'd heard there was a rukus at Phoenix's Law Office and wanted to check it out...maybe help. She'd taken a cab to the building but there was no one outside. She figured all of the detectives were gone. Shrugging she walked inside of the office to see a bewildered Pearl.

"Hm?" She raised and eyebrow and stared at the girl. "......What are you doing here?" She questioned as she started to scan the office for anyone else. It seemed as though Pearl was alone. Those stupid detectives had left it unlocked again...She would have to take that up with the cheif, for now though her focus was on the young Fey girl.

Okay everyone, I haven't been online for...oh...hm. Forever..and a day. So I came back and want to revamp my little RP here. Y'know blow the dust off of it and get the story moving again.

Since all of my Cannon Character participants vanished off of the face of the Earth it seems I'm in order of getting together a new group of male Cannon Character. The list right now is small but as the story goes on it will expand. It's pretty much limited to Miles, Phoenix and Gumshoe.

The thing is that the character of Phoenix and Mles were already fairly developed in the story line so I will need someone who is willing to play according to the already set personalities.

For people wanting to take these parts (especailly the parts of Miles and Phoenix) I will need you to PM me with a brief history on your Role Playing and a sample post as the character that you are applying for.
