Theo wasn't sure, but he thinks he was just insulted. "W-w-well, I think I-i-i impressed them w-w-with my knowledge of the h-houses history and M-m-m-mythology." Theo stopped tensing up after the last word. "In fact, there is several legends aboarted tut thos house." He started talking very very quickly "There's this one, about a room on the third floor, that won't open because the door is cursed by the souls of everyone whose died here, Oh, oh and the one about a maniac who locked his son in the basement, until oneday his son escaped and murderd everyone in the house with a machette, Oh, oh and........."

"There is no need to be so brash, Price." came a middle-pitched voice, in middle volume. However, a hint of French in the voice, and a tint of an Oxford accent that had been overun by a un-accented voice. The voice came from above, but the wielder of said voice didn't bother with a rope. He jumped, and survived the blow with no broken bones. Sirius Aurum XXI was tall - however, his frame was about 5'7, not exactly giant material. A motorized exoskeleton has given him height - and life.

The exoskeleton created the bones of his body on the outside of his skin, and several others. As a child, several ribs has collapsed from a disease. The exoskeleton was constructed to replace his ribs. then other bones collapsed. Eventually, they deicded to bind him in the skeleton, creating a 'ghost in the machine'. His head had been painted by himself, and the exosekelton went into his skin from the neck up, making his head appear normal. As normal as it can be with white hair, white irises, a very pale complexion and hypnotic markings, that swirled around his head.

Ramirez had entered just in time to see the metal-clad fellow leap from over the railings and land perfectly.

"Impressive jump," he said, "can you also do magic tricks?"
The cold silence that followed his comment was immidiatly filled by Ramirez himself.

((I'm going to be gone in.... 7 hours. So, just to make Aurum's vanish seamless...))

Aurum walked in front of the house, examining the doors. He noticed a strange fungi by the front of the door. He examined it, poking through it. It went under the steps, seemingly to a basement. Not that Aurum could see that far. His poking exantually led the plant to extend several stems and grab his hand. His eyes became wide, as it quickly swallowed him with ivy. It rotted as soon as he was enveloped. The plant rotted with it, sending ivy over the steps.

Aurum was gone, wrapped in a similar bud elsewhere in the house.

"Hmmmmmmmmm......." Theo studied the map carefully. "Well, we're on the bottom of the building, which is five stories in all. and I don't know where the corridor of portraits is.... I guess we can either go upstairs, to the trophy room, or downstairs, to the basement."

Theo dashed after him, cramming the map into his pocket along the way. They travellled into the main hall way, noting the dark, peeling red paint all over the walls, combined with the lack of lights, and the eerie nature of the house, it all started to seem like a bad idea.

"U-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-uhhhh, J-j-j-j-j-javier, The ba-ba-basement's the other way." He was able to stutter out, before pointing to an oaken, badly worn wooden door, marked. |B SEM T|

Javier reached for the handle to the basement,it felt hard and cold to the touch.He opened the door,it creaked eerily and it was hard to open.Like the door was telling them not to go down into the basement."Hm,probably rusty hinges...."Javier said to himself as he forced the door open.

Ramirez had decided to wait on investigating the old house till the next day, and let the others go on without him. It was already late and only getting later, and he didn't like the idea of waltzing around a derelict manor in the middle of the night.
Back in the entrance hall, he had found a fireplace and lit what rotted wood rested in it's hearth. The smell was rank, but it was warm and gave him enough light to read his book. He pulled up a chair and read:

1942 A.D., THE CENTRAL PACIFIC
'During Japan's initial advance, a platoon of Imperial Marines was sent to garrison Atuk, an Island of the Caroline chain. Several days after landing, the platoon was attacked by a swarm of zo-'

He jumped as he heard a small sound coming from outside the entrance doors.
'Hm? Probably just an animal.' He though, and went to check just to satisfy his curiosity. e took his time, rather dreading the aspect of letting the cold back in, and when he opened the doors (with some trouble, as they had not quite worked properly after Price kicked them open) he only found some sort of dead plant lying across the steps.

"Odd," Ramirez muttered. "Must've blown in from some other part of the house..."
He closed the door and went back to his book at the fireplace.
