Apollo let a small strangled cry of surprise when Phoenix answered, and even though the greeting was bizarre, he was ridiculously glad- since Mr. Wright tended to let the damn thing ring for minutes on end.
\"Umm, err, Mr. Wright, sorry I\'m late, but I bumped into this woman and everything spilled everywhere, and it got wet, and I ruined the underwear magazines, and now she\'s gone in to get replacements, but I told her not to bother since it was just as much my fault as it was hers!\"
Apollo half-yelled, making a passing old lady shriek in surprise, dropping her umbrella.

Phoenix had the phone held away from his ear while Apollo spoke.
"That's okay, Polly!" Phoenix said with a smile if only to keep him from babbling more. "You get that stuff over here when you can. Oh, and while I have you. I'm going to need you to distract the lolita prosecutor while we decorate her office. Kthxbai!" He pressed the off button and stuffed the phone back into his pocket. "Trucy!" He yelled with one arm out. He'd have had them both out but the other was carrying the sack of goodies. "I got props!"

Cheryl decided to taste the wine. She drank some, and felt a strange reaction to it. She drank some more, and some more.
"Wow...I see little balls of sunshine in a bag...wooooo...pretty." She walked around in a daze, tripping, and falling. She was drunk, and helpless. She toppled over near Phoenix as he was calling. She started talking weird. "Welcome to Tres Bien how can I take your order? Our specials include sfdbfudbebb...." She slurred her words as she spoke.

Ini saw the props, and clapped her hands with glee. "Like, PROPS! Like, SHOWTIME!"

"Daddy!" Trucy sighed silently in relief, as she didn't know what else would cheer a down and out pink haired magician anymore. He wasn't responding well to Mr.Hat's special appearance, and she was glad that her hobolicious father came to the rescue.
She gave Max one last pat of reassurance and immediately ran to look at the props Phoenix had grabbed from their luxrious home - no, more like a pile of random stuff inside 4 walls.
"Hey, Daddy!" Trucy nearly jumped onto the poor hobo, still screeching in excitement, "When are we going to throw the party? I have to warm up for my tricks!" She gave the bag of goodies a small glance, frowned and kept her voice low, "...Max...I don't think he'll be able to help me perform some fabulous tricks.... It look's like he's down again."
She then noticed a rather clumsy looking woman who happened to be drinking whatever contents were fit in a familiar bottle - Phoenix's perhaps?
"Hey, Daddy, is that my new mommy?" Trucy giggled - she always loved toying with what ever feelings her dad was trying to conceal, especially about a new mommy.
She remembered him telling her a bedtime story of a girl he used to date in college; Trucy could just picture her overflowing light pink skirt, the gentle umbrella and the sincere look she always had on her face. But that was when she was quite young - probably at about the age of 8. Whenever she tried to ask anything about it, her Daddy would just take a swig of his grape juice and sigh.

But this wasn't the time to bring it up again.

Phoenix chuckled at his walking companions antics, and took his cue from Trucy. He sat down next to Max, he scratched the back of his head, and gave him an old familiar goofy smile.
"Something you wanna talk about?" He tried to ask in the same way that he used to, but all the real concern had faded from his tone over time. He was really only caring now because it would make Trucy happy to see Max cheered up. Not to say he didn't feel a sort of brotherly attachment to all of his old clients, he was just so very tired of having to care about everyone he's ever met, and Maximillion Galactica didn't exactly flood him with update letters.

Snacks, soda, cups, party favors, underwear magazines... The soggy shrine maiden had finally finished gathering what she could only assume were perfectly normal supplies for a party. Well, not counting the magazines, anyway. Maybe it was a bachelor party...
After she'd finished checking out, she carried her numerous bags just outside the door to where the young man waited and bowed awkwardly to him; normally she didn't carry so much weight at once. "I'm sorry I kept you waiting, I know you were in a hurry... Um..." The woman shuffled her feet. "You...don't have an umbrella, do you? ...If you want, I could walk with you to where you need to go...if, if you don't mind the company..." she added shyly.
