April 15th, 1950. Professor Albert Einstein was waiting at the airport in New York. He was waiting for his flight to England to arrive. He glanced at his watch. It was 10:50 AM. The plane was scheduled to arrive at 1:15 PM. Einstein sighed. "Hey, are you the Professor Einstein?" Some guy asked. It was the tenth time that day.

"Pardon me, sorry! Always I am mistaken for Professor Einstein." He said in broken English, speaking with a foreign accent.

"...." The guy walked away.

Ryuk stood by, watching as Einstein's life slowly slipped away. "Ugh! This is so boring!" Ryuk walked off, forgetting about Einstein. He'll - Ryuk accidentally bumped into someone. The person was pushed in a way that made him trip. He picked up the luggage that he dropped, however, Ryuk did not notice the missing Death Note - neither did the person. He went off, and so did Ryuk.

No one noticed the Death Note until someone came by (hinthint)....

"Hellooo? What's this?" a woman asked, picking up the Death Note, but not bothering to read it. Snooping through someone's stuff was something she wouldn't do. Maybe someone around here could help me know whose this is, she thought.

Ryuk was walking around the airport when he saw an old man. His lifespan was almost over. In a few seconds, it would run out. Ryuk went to get his Death Note from his belt, but it was gone. "Huh?" Ryuk looked around, retracing his steps.

"Excuse me. Do you know what this is?" she asked a random person, who tried to grab it. "Don't READ it! It could very well not be yours. Who was around here recently?" The man just shook his head and walked away. "Grr...This is so frustrating! Whoever had this had better show up soon. I have to go to work." Her curiosity was peaking as she held the Death Note. She sighed. I'll bring it to work, she thought. Then I'll come back and try again. Sooner or later, someone will ask about this. She left to go to the hospital, where she was a nurse, taking the note with her.

After looking around for a bit, Ryuk finally saw the woman and his death note. Come on, lady, it says "death note" on the cover! Are you blind? Ryuk thought to himself, forgetting about the fact that she had his death note.

The woman could swear she was being watched as she walked to work. She put on her scrubs and started treating patients, coming up with a diagnosis within five minutes per patient. The woman carried the Death Note the whole time, oblivious to the fact that someone was looking for it. All the curiosity she had about it before vanished as she concentrated on her work.

She's kidding, right? Ryuk thought, as he entered the woman's workplace. Looks like I'm going to have to tell her. "Why hello there!" Ryuk said to the woman.

"Oh, hi," she said cheerfully, but was obviously still absorbed in her work. "I'm sorry, but you don't look sick. Well...I guess you could still be admitted...But you'll need an appointment to talk to me. This counts as my break time." Then, she looked into Ryuk's eyes. All of a sudden, she became pale. Her head hurt. And she heard Ryuk's voice in her head, saying something that sounded like jibberish to her, but she realized he was there to get the Death Note. She had no clue what just happened, but she handed him the Death Note and said, "Take it. I don't want it anyway."

Power? That envelope was supposed to give me power? You humans...As in he's not human? This is so weird. Why do I feel compelled to folllow him? Hello. Hospital. Dying people. Snap out of it and get back to work. But the hospital can manage without you. Go after him. You're nuts! What? Nothing. There was a full-blown arguement going on in the woman's head as she stood, frozen in place. When she came back to her senses, she realized a man was pointing a knife at her throat.
"Nobody can hear you, nor save you," he said. "So, tell me, where is it?"
"Where's what?"
"The Death Note."

The guy pushed the woman aside. "You have the Death Note. Then, you must DIE!!" the man screamed, about to run toward Ryuk before the woman tripped him and took his knife.
"Looks like you're the one who's about to die," she said. Then, all the patients she thought were sick got up and took a fighting stance.
"The Death Note," they kept chanting. The woman was startled. All those people just acted sick because they knew she had the Death Note? It couldn't be...
The guy got up, taking advantage of the fact the woman was startled, and punched her in the face, knocking her over.

Nice to know this guy doesn't think he needs to help me or anything, the woman thought sarcastically as she tried to get up. The man held a gun up to her head.
"Give us the Death Note or we'll kill her."
This guy seems to have a point. We do go crazy over the smallest things.
"What are you planning to do with it, anyway?" she asked.
"Shut up!" the guy yelled. "We're not bluffing. She will die!"

What is he doing? I guess he doesn't care about me. And after I saved his ever precious 'Death Note.' I wouldn't go so far as to say I saved his life, since he probably could handle himself.
"Okay. then," the guy said. "This is it. Say good-bye."
Is this really the end? Nobody on staff will save me. This guy won't save me, either. I...I'll die right here. NO! I refuse to let it all end here!
The woman had very little time to act, so she kicked the gun out of his hand, then kicked his chin. He was knocked out.
"Let's go!" she said to Ryuk, but was too late. They were surrounded by hospital patients, which, from anyone else's point of view, would be just ridiculous.

Ryuk just stood. there. "Bullets and knives don't harm me. Besides, they are about to die in......." The people who's name were written in the Death Note suffered a heart attack and died. "There, dead."

"What the-?!" the woman asked. "Y-you...W-wha-... ...There was no need for anyone to die. ...How did that happen anyway?" The patients who didn't die ran out of there. The guy from before was still knocked out, but wasn't dead.

"I'm a doctor, so, yeah, you could say that," the woman said. "People come so close to dying. My job, I guess, is kind of the opposite of yours. I make sure those who are close to dying don't. If I can save one person who has everyone thinking they would die or that other wise would die, I have done my job. ...It looks like I don't have a 'job' to do right now, though..."
