It wasn't much longer before they reached the border, and saw the Larcenians coming. "Get ready!" said Xero, unsheathing his sword.

Some Arsenian guards, as well as the blue-haired one, came up behind them. "Thank goodness you're back!"

Xero grinned. "Thank the other messenger for being such a fast runner. If he was as good at fighting as I was, he'd probably be a good Myrmidon as well. Now... shall we slice up some Larcenian guards?"

((Introducing... the Combo Attack!))

Xero and Chris both readied their blades, and then dashed forward, slicing many enemies in an X formation. They then came back to the others.

"Combining our attacks is a good way to kill off more soldiers," said Xero. "Though it's not easy to do so; you have to have known them long enough so the powers can come together and become stronger."

Chris, however, looked over at Saria. "Say, who's the new cute one?"

Xero hit Chris over the head with the blunt edge of his sword. "That's the Princess of Verdia, you twit."

"Oh."

Chris grumbled, and then dashed off towards more soldiers.

Xero laughed. "He's fine. A bit of an idiot sometimes, but he earns his strength. Now, on with the battle!" He disappeared, and another line of soldiers went down, their assailant not even being shown as they fell.

He reappeared back, seeing how many soldiers are left. "Damn, they sure sent a lot of them!" He disappeared again.

"Ah! Right!" Saria was approached by a nearby soldier, a look in his eye.

"Hey, what's a pretty thing like you doing on the battlefield? Come along and be a good little girl..."

Saria suddenly sang a small note in a graceful voice.

"Eh? What are y-"

Suddenly, a energy of light burst from above the soldier and zapped him. He fell to the floor, dead.

Both Xero and Chris weaved across the soldiers, getting rid of the ones that posed a huge threat, like the hidden archers and mages.

It wasn't long before the enemy commander showed up. "Oh come on, you all should know better!" he bellowed. "Weaklings... don't know how to fight. Well, I'll take care of them myself!" He rode on his horse, and charged at Grace.

Grace quickly sets her sight on the commander, only losing sight of him for a split second as she glances at Saria upon hearing her voice. Assuming she imagined it, she turns away begins to cast her spell, but stops mid-way in surprise as the shield appears in front of her; again she begins to cast, shaking off her surprise.

The Enemy Commander made his horse take a few steps back. "So you're working together? Well, I'll take care of the little light mage first! Princess of Verdia, are you not?" he rushed towards her, attempting to go to the side and capture her. "You'd make a fine hostage in Larcenia!"

A few seconds later, the horse fell over as Chris jumped into the fray. "No hostages, sorry."

"Why you...!"

The commander jumped off his horse. "Very well... I will battle you myself!" He drew his sword again. "Prepare to die!"

However, Chris was ready, and knocked him back.

Meanwhile, Xero helped Grace take care of more of the soldiers.

(AlAo, if you see this, you should have your character jump in and finish the Commander off. So he can finally get into the party.

As for me, I'm gone to work. Be back on lunch break in about an hour and a half.)

Xero finished off another line of soldiers, and appeared quite suddenly beside the Commander. "It's not nice to attack ladies, you know." He then motioned at Chris. "I need you to go get Lendrith. I'm sure he's somewhere nearby, waiting for a signal."
Chris nodded and dashed off.

Xero smirked at the Commander, and pointed his sword at him. "One move, and your body turns to ribbons."

She would have attacked, but she could somehow tell this woman was experienced...she would only miss and the woman would possibly cut down Xero.

Instead, she asked...

Ledrith had noted the battle and had rode out with the small group of soldiers - made up of Saskia retainers and Arsenian soldiers - however, he had not made this well-known among the soldiers who had gone out to battle and thus, nobody knew that he was now among the soldiers. He had a rough idea where the Commander would be - assuming he had not moved too much since Ledrith came onto the battlefield. So, despite being quite a distance away from the Commander (and quite far behind the Arsenian lines), he raised the tome he had acquired from the merchant and chanted for a moment, speaking words at an incredible rate until it slowed down for the final words; "...and thus, light is blocked by the darkness; we shall awake to a world without light, happiness, sorrow; we shall become clear to the truth when the darkness covers all... Progenies!" Three rings of darkness appeared in the air above the enemy commander; the one on the inside, almost directly above the enemy commander the smallest, increasing the size as they grew outwards. A pillar of darkness descended from the clouds above, going through the three rings and striking the Commander as a blast of wind blew outwards, startling the soldiers who had not seen the pillar until then. Ledrith was aware that he may not have finished off the enemy commander; but he had done enough. A stray javelin flew over the heads of the soldiers - despite the long-range capabilities of his magic, he was still close enough that he could be hurt; however, the javelin cut through his robes with ease and engraved itself within his arm. While it was not too deep, it would still be enough to ensure a few days of rest. Maybe less, due to his magic.

((Note: I will probably not have Internet access in three hours for now until late Wednesday evening (GMT/BST). Due to this, I would think it best to try and slow down the RP, sorry - this was why I delayed so much in posting this post. The reason of him being hit by a javelin is so I'm not forced to miss any important meetings. Sorry about this; I did not think this RP would be started by this point; I was hoping it would be after this... lack of Internet connection. There is a possibility of me having Internet access during the night occasionally, but I will probably not. Sorry for the inconvenience.))

Saria was stunned to see three dark rings appear. Then the most incredible and yet insane thing she had ever seen in her life appeared.

A pillar fell from the sky and struck the commander, an outburst of wind in it's wake. Saria was knocked over in shock and shook her head, staring at the pillar as if what had happened could not have even existed in her wildest dreams.

The woman jumped back as the pillar struck the commander, swiftly taking him out of existence. She held her blade angled across her body to protect herself from another attack. glancing at the black pillar she let out a short sigh. "And yet another contract goes down the drain...Ah, well." an impudent smile fixed itself on her face and she mockingly saluted Saria. "As for who I am, Duana Isenulf, former second-in-command of Tyr's Wolves at your service, well depending on how heavy your wallet is."

Xero looked forward. "It's starting to turn dark... we have to start walking to Verdia if we are to ward off the Larcenian attack... Ledrith, you should probably stay and heal your wounds. We should be back by dusk tomorrow."

"The healing won't take too long. If Verdia is the destination; I will join you there. I have some small business to take care of there, in any case." Ledrith noted his own condition mentally; his spell-casting might be slightly impaired, but it seemed okay for the most part. The javelin had engraved itself within his right arm - seeing as he was left-handed, it would allow him to fight, but would impair what he could carry for a while. At the very least, he would be limited to Fluxes for a while. He made a mental note to find some herbs to cover the wound with at the soonest opportunity.

"I take it a javelin-wound, despite being as non-lethal as it is, is a bad reason to be a little slower then yourself?" An incorrect assessment of the wound inflicted by the javelin had evidently irritated Ledrith. While he knew it was non-lethal; he had still given an incorrect analysis of it and it irked him slightly - the way he could ingeniously give an incorrect assessment of a wound was one of many reasons he would likely never properly learn how to use staves - indeed, only his rather frail physical body prevented him from swinging an axe about. He just about managed with a sword; but he didn't intend to use a sword at this point - he was quite adept at using the tomes of magic by this point. He looked around, slightly paranoid at the fact that there could easily be anyone who could be watching them.

((I need to make a character who isn't a pompous ass at some point. Hey guess what? I don't have a copy of the mugshot in .gif format, so...

It had been nearly an hour since Alwin had received word from his scouts of a strange band approaching his father’s land. The small village and manse that made up his family’s property was the last foothold of Arsenian land before it reached the border of Verdia, and in these tense times caution was even more necessary than ever. Along with an accompaniment of fifteen soldiers, Alwin rode out to greet the group and identify them before he allowed them entrance into the village.

Alwin rode up behind the group on his chestnut mount and called out them, “Hail!
