At the moment Phoenix had no other choice but to believe him. He was just too tired to think anymore. His entire body felt wretched. Like it was a hot washcloth being rung out in the sink. He took out a bottle of coldkiller x and popped a couple more pills.

Chris looked over at Meghan. She was still sleeping peacefully. He tucked a few strands of her hair behind her ear, and smiled at her... but then remembered he was supposed to be listening in for when it was his turn to speak, if Phoenix was going to refuse to allow the girl to come in.

Phoenix pressed pound and one on his cell and it dialed the girl's number. It never really occurred to him that the number he had might not belong to the girl they wanted. Not much really was at the moment.

A gentle, melodic tune roused Iris from her slumber. After spending a second to locate the source, she cautiously reached for the phone sitting on her nightstand and took in a deep breath before reading the caller ID.

Her eyes misted over for the xth time that night as her mind cursed herself for giving away her number. She should probably at least thank him for helping her earlier, but...it was too painful just to see his name at the moment, much less talk to him. She cast her phone to the other side of the room and buried her face in her pillow to muffle the ringing.

Phoenix pulled the phone from his ear and looked at it with concern.
"She's not picking up." He said this casually at first, then his eyes widened. "OH GOD!" He got to his feet too quickly for his congested inner ear to take and immediately had to either sit down or fall face first onto the floor. He opted for sitting. He'd been getting enough face on floor action for the day. "Ergh." He grabbed his head and managed to successfully stand this time. "I have to get back to the dorm." He willed his legs to move. They weren't being very cooperative.

Phoenix pushed himself out the door and made it a good ways down the hallway before collapsing at the feet of a small brunette girl. She looked down at him for only a moment before stepping over his body and letting the doctors and nurses deal with him.

Iris found herself staring at the ceiling, wondering why on earth he would be calling her now. She couldn't piece things together at all and only confused herself further by trying: he had a terrible fever but still chased after her and helped her escape Felix's inquiry, but why would he do those things for her after what she'd done to him? He'd said himself what he thought of her...

There was only one way to know. She pulled herself out of bed to retrieve her cell and dialed.

In truth, the questions that had plagues Emi a day ago were no longer her concern. It was simply a question she would never know the answer to and she was willing to leave it as such. She sketched Chris checking on Meghan as the pink sweatered boy was wheeled past the door towards another room. She stepped further into the room to be out of the way and almost crushed Phoenix's cellphone just as it went off.

He didn't know what to say next, so he awaited her answer.

Phoenix burst into the doorway with wide eyes and two nurses trying to pull him back. They'd only halfway hooked him up to an iv when he apparently heard his cellphone go off.
"Who is it?!" He asked almost franticly. "Is it her?!"
"Sir, you need to let us finish!" Argued a nurse.

Phoenix was currently struggling with two nurses, a doctor, and one more rather large nurse was turning a corner.
"DOLLIE I LOVE YOU!" He yelled as loudly as he could before he was tackled with a sedative.
