Miles sat quietly while he finished the rest of his tea. It was going to be a slow day. He usually had cases littered through the day, but for the first time in a while it was just the one. He wasn't entirely sure what to do with this spark of free time.

Miles checked his watch again on his way back to the office. It was a rather nice day. Maybe one worth a detour to the park. Miles made a sharp left turn and in the corner of his eye saw someone's hand raise to their mouth. Then it felt as if a bee had stung him in the neck. Reflexively he slapped at it, but his hand pulled back something odd. The sheer unreality of it made him speak the name of the object aloud.
"Blow dart?" His mouth muffled and his body numbed. It wasn't long until he lost consciousness entirely.

Phoenix had his hands stuffed into the pockets of his hoodie. He hadn't really thought this out too far and now that he was walking Mia back he had no clue what they should talk about. The air that rushed around them felt stiff and cold.
"Um, so." He cleared his throat. "Kind of windy out, huh?" He mentally slapped himself after saying that.

Phoenix laughed in an attempt to hide his nervousness, but ended up just making it much more apparent.
"Well unless your last boyfriend tried to kill you I think I win on the relationship fuck up front." He didn't quite realize how stupid that was until after he said it. "Uh..." His brain cracked. "AH! FIX IT FIX IT!" Looped the phrase in his head. You could almost read the words scrolling through his horrified eyes.

"Oh wow." Phoenix tried to hide the relief that she wasn't angry with him for being an idiot. He ruffled the spikes on the back of his head. "Um. So-" He was interrupted by a thick bass line that was usually reserved for low quality porn. "Damnit, Larry." He sighed and and answered. "Stop changing my ring tone!" He snapped into the phone. After a few seconds he pinched the bridge of his nose. "Well then can you mail me the prints from there?" He asked. The response just seemed to aggravate him a bit more. "Yeah yeah. Best of luck to you two." He snapped the phone shut and stuffed it into his pocket. "See in you a month." He muttered to himself.

"He's run off to Paris with some girl." Phoenix explained with an exasperated sigh. "We're two weeks away from bankruptcy and that last design is pretty much useless now that it was used as a murder weapon. He was working pretty hard for the past few days. We just needed to get the kinks worked out of this new one, but now that he's decided to follow some stupid model around." Phoenix's voice turned more into a whine as he spoke until finally it just degraded into a frustrated "Augh."

When she took his arm Phoenix's heart fluttered wildly. He even turned red from the sudden rush of blood to his head.

"Yeah, it's not like him to just randomly do something nice like that." Nick opened the door to the icecream shop for Mia. "But I guess he's in a good mood with his dad gone."

"Ergh." Miles peeled open his eyes. His vision was horribly blurry so when he looked around he couldn't make out much. He was inside, and there was something moving around. As his body started to regain feeling he realized that he couldn't move much due to his arms being tied together above his head. He pulled at them in a moment of panic.
"You shouldn't do that, Mr. Edgeworth." Said a voice that he almost recognized. "You'll get a dent in my headboard."
