Anika turned to see Rodrick arrive as well. She replied, "I presume they will come in no more than five minutes. For now, let us try to find the Gabriel." Then she walked until she spotted a ship, and painted on the side was "S. S. Gabrielle". "So this is the ship for the expedition, she thought, and walked up the plank to see another man already there, who said to a guard, "Matthew Vigor. I have some papers here."

Rodrick hurriedly followed Anika and reached the boat, panting heavily. "E-excuse me, sir, " he said to the guard, "my name's R-Rodrick Welsh. T-the photographer?" He fumbled around with his pockets until he found his press pass and ID. "Y-you see? T-that's me..."

Anika said to the guard, "I am Anika Romanova, the electrical engineer for the expedition." She then brought out a few files, mainly her engineer license, invitational letter from Starkweather & Moore and the note received earlier. Then she turned to Rodrick and said, "You get tired easily, do you not, Mr. Welsh?"

"Yes, that does answer my question, Mr. Clawes," Othello said with a smile. Then, Rodrick mentioned they should head to the pier. "Right. We probably should. Shall we?" He walked out of the hotel after Rodrick. The cab pulled up and Rod got inside. As Othello reached for the door, the darn cab rode off. Stupid taxis.
"I always preferred walking anyway," he said to no one in particular before turning and strolling down the street, toward the pier.

"Here we are." the driver told August. "It's twenty bucks, mate." August hesitated. Twenty dollars!? After some seconds, he paid, and left, without even thanking the driver.
Close to him, Anika, Rodrick and a couple of men were there. He read the sign. Oh, so I have to check in here...

August approached the group, who was checking in. "Hey, both." he said, since he had met both Anika and knew Rodrick. Then he turned to the guards, pulling off his ID and press pass. "I'm August Kuranes, journalist in charge of the Expedition's coverage for the Arkham Advertiser."

Anika entered the ship, and was led, with the others, towards the mess hall. She then sat down, and said to herself, "This is a very nice ship, I must say. It is actually almost luxurious, since this is an expedition." Anika then waited for the others to arrive, and continued observing the ship's structure and furnishings.

Othello casually walked up to the pier, seeing a group walking past the guard. Well, August was talking to the guy, probably getting clearance to go in as well. He smiled strolled over to the guard.
"I am Othello Bellucci," he said, holding up his ID. "Geologist." Getting there by walking was much easier than most people realized. A turn down the right alley and you were already halfway there.

Anika continued observing the dining room until another person raised a question. Anika turned to look at Matthew, as he inquired, "Give me an estimate. What do you think our chances of survival are?" Anika thought, but remembered her weakness. "I'm sorry I cannot answer, but I was never very good with statistics. There are, however, many factors to consider in making that estimate, and also many unknowns."

"Agreed," Matthew replied. "Least of all is the weather itself. I do not feel that I have to remind everyone here, but Antarctica is really, really cold. Not to mention days are pretty short there as well. One unknown I am worried about is the last expedition that went out. Why did they intentionally go to a place named 'The Mountains of Madness'? It probably got its name for a good reason, so when we get there, I recommend being ready for anything."

Have you eaten? Sandwiches and coffee are on the table over there. Take what you like, and go and see Mr. Sykes in the crew's lounge. Right through that door down the hall.

"Oh, and one more thing. We all meet each morning at eight o'clock in the Rose Room at the hotel. If I don't see you again today I trust I'll see you there."

When the guards let them pass, August turned to Othello, and offered his hand. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Bellucci." he said, smiling. "I am August Kuranes, and I'll be covering this expedition for the world to know." He spoke as they walked towards the mess hall. He noticed he had a chance, and pulled his notepad and pen off. "So, you're a geologist, right? Where from?"

When they reached the mess hall, August and Othello were received by Moore. "Nice to see you again, Mr. Moore." August said, walking towards him to shake his hand. Then, he took a sandwich, and quickly ate it. He turned to Othello, and blushed.
"Oh, sorry, I didn't realize... I was really hungry." He took a paper napkin from the table, and cleansed the sandwich leavings off his mouth.

"So, you're from Italy." he resumed. Figures. The surname 'Bellucci' couldn't be from nowhere else. "I see. Tell me, Mr. Bellucci, were you sent here, or are you here at will?"

Rodrick hurried over to the table and picked up a sandwich. He hadn't eaten in a couple of hours and was ready to dig in. Before eating, though, he checked to see if there was meat in it. After taking pictures of animals for a living, it was easy to get sick eating just a little bit of beef. Satisfied that it was only a cheese sandwich, Rodrick bit in with relish.

"Thank you, Mr. Moore," he said, carefully eating his sandwich, barely fighting the urge not to shove the whole thing in his mouth. "I came here of my own free will. Well, not here here, I guess here would be because I was told to, but I came on this expedition on my free will."

He then walked over to the sandwich bar and started consuming some sandwhichs. He trusted the chefs enough so that he was fairly certain they didn't poison the food.

Matthew swallowed his sandwhich, and replied, "Name's Matthew Vigor. I'm the team's survival expert. I'm here to keep you guys from freezing to death out there, or whatever else might be jumping out at us. Which is why I brought my gun and my knife. Of course, I haven't recieved training yet in explosives, so I doubt I can be of much help when it comes to blowing up anything too dangerous to take out with my rifle."

August wrote the word "Hired" in his notepad, next to Matthew's words. He then wrote, bewteen brackets: "[Seems extremely sure we'll all get killed, I don't think we could come at will.]".

"I see." he replied. "When I asked Mr. Bellucci about this, you suddenly answered in a subjective way, so I'll ask you again:" He drank some coffee from an already filled glass in the table. I bet his answer is "I know it'll be the same than last time and we'll all die".
"What are your thoughts about what happened 3 years ago, and what are you expecting for this one, comparing it to the first one?"

She then continued to eat what she had picked up, and afterward, put down the coffee cup and headed to the door.

"This is the best sandwich I've had all day," Othello joked as he finished his sandwich. He then resumed looking around and seeing what all was happening. Curiosity seemed to burn in Anika's eyes before she headed toward the door. Where was she heading? He then looked at Matthew and August, who just concluded their interview, and now it seemed August was going through a mental checklist. People do that all the time. Then, there was Rodrick, who was eating his sandwich with relish. Nothing exciting there. And Clawes hadn't shown up there yet...
Othello got up and walked toward the door, curious to see what the rooms looked like.

Anika opened the door and looked back, seeing that Othello was proceeding to the door as well. She stared at the sea for a moment and took in the ocean air, her blond and chestnut hair fluttering. "It won't be this wonderful when we get to Antarctica, that much I'm sure of," she thought, "But I know that it will be an epic adventure." Then she proceeded to walk to the crew lounge, to see Mr. Sykes, hoping that more light will be shed on the background of the others, and on the mission itself.

(Okay, just to let everyone know, this is Elias, or Inquisitor Amakiir. My old account doesn't seem to want to log on, so I'm going to be using this one now.
