He brought the tea to Snob Lady, as he now called her. "Do you need anything else?" he tried to ask in a hospitable manner, but he couldn't hide the sense of contempt. He hoped she hadn't caught on.

Athena couldn't help but take in her breath. Dornez, that was the name of her client! So...the prosecutor for his case....is here with them, enjoying tea and coffee with them.

"Hey Attey," Ben replied, holding a napkin to his bloody nose. "Dornez...isn't that the guy he talked with down at the detention center? Our...."

Athena made a move to slam his head again, but Ben pulled back, realizing too late what he just said. "Oh....lord. You're gonna kill me now, aren't you Attey."

"That would be too merciful," Athena replied angrily.

Phil was leaning on the counter, realizing this was the perfect job for him. As far as he could see, the people who came here were regulars, and he could get to know some people. Make some friends, learn new things, keep up-to-date with the happenings in town. Yep, it finally looked like his life was taking a turn for the best.

Not to mention he would smell the aroma of coffee all day, everyday.

He loved the smell of coffee.

Hearing the trouble brewing, Sklar backed up slowly from the lukewarm tea she put down like it was a caged animal, threatening to bite her. Then, realising the waiter had put a fresh one down for the prosecutor, crept back to it, again, like it was alive. She snagged the cup by the handle, and yanked it towards her before backing up again. She turned off Talking Heads to better listen to the commotion. Then, seeing the waiter rest by the counter, turned red a little, hoping he hadn't seen. Wait, "the waiter"?
"Hey," She asked, tea in hand. "What's your name?"

"Oh, my name? I'm Phil, but some people call me...uh..." He mumbled something to himself, turning pink. Trying to change the subject, he asked "So, uh, if that tea's cold, I can warm it back up for you..." Wow, you are the worst conversation starter. "I mean, can't have cold tea. That's like, uh...hot...ice...cream..." His voice trailed off, in shock of abnormal he was acting. His face was completely red now.

Was it possible for his face to get redder? is nickname was stupid, and moving to a new town allowed him to start fresh, he wasn't sure we wanted someone to really know. But with someone like her...

"Figgy" Yup. His face could get redder. He went in the kitchen to find some ice to maybe bring the blushing down a bit. He couldn't tell if she was laughing.

Don walked back in, he noticed Ben Attey and Jade talking, but he couldn't hear what.
He walked past Sklar who was holding her cup of tea looking at the kitchen.
He was carrying a bag in his hand as he walked into the kitchen where he saw Phil holding ice to his face.
"What's the matter Phil?" Don asked in a concerned tone. Not an angry one that Phil wasn't taking care of customers, more like he could tell something was wrong and he wanted to help.
"I had some signs made a while back to show how to make some of the drinks, I hadn't had time until now to pick them up though. They should help with making drinks. And I also got some ice cream to celebrate your first day on the job!" Don put the large container of ice cream in the freezer.
Don saw that Phil's face was all red, but it didn't look like he had been hit.
"So, what happened while I was gone?"
((Sorry about running off like that. I had to leave work. I read it already, you can just say that you told me or something.))

"Oh, hey! Err..." Phil wasn't sure whether he should tell anyone right now, but if it was anyone it would be his boss. So he told him what happened. "Anyway, I love working here. It's not too busy, but it keeps my occupied. And thanks for the signs, luckily all I've had to make so far is tea and decaf." Phil smiled his shy smile, and looked past Don into the coffee house. Don didn't see what Phil looked at, but he knew anyways, as Phil's face turned red again.

Sklar jogged after Phil. She hated hurting other people's feelings. Looking in the kitchen, she saw Don and nodded a "hello". Seeing Figgy pressing a handful of loose ice to his face, she looked down at her tea, actually kind of glad she hadn't drank any of it. Trotting up to the him and placing her tea on a shelf, she apologised quietly "You didn't have to tell me, you know. S'okay, I won't tell anyone or call you by it if it bothers you so much." She smiled "You don't see me wigging out over weird names."

Don smiled, first day on the job and the shy young man he hired found a friend. He looked out at the tables, then at Sklar.
"Phil told me you were helping out today." He started to get one of those smiles that he would gen when he was ploting something, though, not diabolically, more like Godot would make. :godot:

James spent 10 dollars on cocoa already, he was practically drunk-ish, "Man, I-I need to get home..." 5 empty mugs on the table, one mug in his hand, he took a sip, "Heh, n-no way man...I'm drinking cocoa!" He yelled out loudHe noticed regular customers ataring at him, finally he noticed that he actually got drunk off of Cocoa, "G-God...Cocoa gets to your mind," He snapped back to his normal self and asked, "Umm, any food here?"

"Well, I'd better get to putting these signs up! I'll put them right by the places you'll need to go to make the drinks on them."
And with that he walked out of the kitchen to put up the signs.

"Could one of you make some muffins?" he asked. He then looked in his bag. "You can put this sign near the oven while your at it."
It had all the directions for making the muffins. "These are fast preparation muffins, should take five minutes to bake."
He then informed the customer "They will be ready in five minutes."

Sklar nodded and took the sign, setting out on a muffin tin hunt. She'd never been a good cook, but you can't mess up when it's all spelled out for you like this... Right? She propped the sign up over the oven and turned a knob to preheat it. Flour, eggs, the usual stuff. This couldn't be too hard. She left for a minute and came back, arms full of sacks and tins. She smelled, through the flour sack, a strange burny smell. What? How could you ruin a muffin before you even start making it? She set the supplies on the floor and looked around.
They really shouldn't put the knobs for the oven and the burners so close together.
Seconds later, a screaming girl was seen running out of the kitchen, a flaming sign held over her head like a weapon of some sort. From the windows you could see her throwing it into a snowdrift outside and stomping on it with navy blue shoes.
(Gotta go to bed soon)

Don ran to the kitchen. luckily the fire had only burnt the sign, the rest of the kitchen was unharmed. He started walking over to the oven to turn off the burner when he heard a crunch under his feet.
He looked down to see an egg's insides coming out from under his shoe. He sighed and turned off the burner, then he picked up the ingredients on the floor and set them on the counter. "Looks like I may have to get another sign." he thought. "At least nobody was hurt."

"Ah, she was making muffins and set the instruction sign on fire. Nothing else was ruined, thank goodness. I just noticed that the knobs on this thing are miss labeled." Don said as he got the last of the egg off of his shoe.
"I fixed them, good thing I got that label maker!" He smiled. It took allot to get him upset about anything.
I'll have to have a new sign made. I think I have a cook book around here somewhere...." Don started looking for the book."nope... that's not it... Aha! Here it is!" He set the book on the counter next to the ingredients.
"You think you can make the muffins?" Don asked.

I can relate to problems like that, so I completely understand." And he did. All his life has been filled with clumsiness. But now he was in a new town, and it was time for a new start.

"So, uh...um...has Sklar..said anything...about...me....?" His face turned a familiar red. Maybe now was the time for that ice cream.

((I'm not entirely sure of the minor details so correct me if I'm wrong.))

“Just what is it with this weather?” Saori murmured to herself as a small puff of visible warm breath escaped her lips. The day had started out quite chilly, evolving into a light shower. January was an unforgiving month for those not used to the cold. Manicured fingers gripped her arms as she tried to wrap the faded brown coat around her lithe body. Her idea was to make the weather more bearable by keeping her body heat trapped within the leather, yet her efforts were left in vain as she still felt the obvious sting of the cold.

Saori was a newcomer to this city and like any newcomer, she decided to go and see the possible places she could go to. But due to the weather, she discovered that her idea wasn't exactly favorable at the time. Slightly drenched and shivering, what she needed now was a place that was warm. A place to simply relax and let the time pass away. A place that wasn't here.

Looking around, she noticed a store that served Hershey’s. A huge sign hung above the boutique and soft, pastel colors decorated the shop. Though she was a big fan of chocolate, it just didn’t feel like the right place. Looking around once more, her eyes were immediately drawn to the cozy looking building right next to it. Four large windows allowed you to peer inside, as if proudly displaying its features. People were inside, chatting away with each other, as if the weather was nothing to be worried about. Without any hesitation, she decided that it was perfect. Taking small but quick strides to escape the rain, she entered the building, loosening her scarf as she did.

The inside was just as pleasant as the exterior of the building. Ventilation provided a warm feel, accommodating the girl with the atmosphere that she was looking for. As her forest green eyes scanned her new surroundings, she noticed the large counter at the far side. There, a combination of different drinks were visible. Slowly sliding off the scarf, she moved towards the counter, all throughout, her lips curving into a warm smile.

Don came out of the kitchen holding a plate with fresh muffins on it. He placed them on the counter and picked one up to take a bite.
He then noticed the girl standing in front of him. "Hello!" he said, hiding the muffin behind his back. "What can I get for you? The first cup is free for whatever you want! Here's the menu." He handed her the menu and quietly hid the muffin in a drawer.

The door next to the counter opened abruptly, and a mixture of smells became prevalent. Vanilla wafted out and the aroma of something freshly baked greeted all. Ah... It smells divine. The woman thought to herself, sitting down to the nearest bar stool in her vicinity. A figure emerged from the door, clad in leather and holding a plate full of muffins. It appeared that was the source of the wonderful smell. Setting down the plate, he took one of the small pastries. The pink haired girl smiled as she caught sight of his action.

Standing from her bar stool, she approached the man just as he was about to take a bite from the muffin. In a brisk motion, the made hid the cup-shaped bread behind his back, as if to keep secret his pilfering of the muffin. The woman silently chuckled to herself when she saw him placing the muffin in a nearby drawer.

"What can I get for you? The first cup is free for whatever you want!", a cheerful bellow came from the man with a fedora on his head. In quick succession, he handed her a demitasse shaped list, never forgetting to smile while doing so. It was the menu, he explained. Saori accepted the list, lightly bowing her head in thanks. She couldn't help but feel that her timing was more than perfect, a free first cup on her first visit. Her emerald eyes seemed to display her delight as she scanned the laminated papers. It didn't take long for her to find a drink she liked.

"I'd like a warm cup of white chocolate mocha please." Putting down her menu, she looked at the plate set beside her and noticed the golden brown pieces of bread. Not wanting to seem rude, she asked to the owner, "Would it be possible to order one of those too?"

"Why certainly!" Don answered. He pulled a piece of wax paper from a small box nearby and used it to pick up one of the muffins. He then placed the muffin on a small plate and turned to start getting the mocha for the young woman at the counter. Once the mocha was ready he gave it to her and smiled. "Here you go! Your free mocha! And your muffin is $0.75. You can pay when your ready to leave." He reached into the drawer and took out his muffin stealthily and walked back into the kitchen to eat his breaded treasure.

Jade blinked and looked back to them, the only thing she did was smirk and stare for at least a few minuets solid. Then, then she spoke, her voice a bit more cold. "So you're the defense? You may as well quit now, because I shalln't be loosing this case... Not to the likes of you." She smirked a bit more, and because she was standing she was looking down on them. She tended to change like this alot where work was concerned, for you should never mix work and leisure.

Athena wasn't so surprized with the sudden change in additude. Most prosecutors act this way when they find out who they will be facing. She stood, matching Jade's cold stare. "I respect your brother, and therefor I respect you, Ms. Edgeworth." She pushed her glasses back up to her face. "Also know I have no intention of forfeting my case. There's something more that going on here, and I intend to find the truth." She smirked, and held out her hand. "I'm looking forward to our battle in court."

Ben knew it was best not to interfere, especially when Attey was like this. Why is it all the women he meets act like this?

She smirked and nodded. "Lets hope you're the new Phoenix Wright, Cross... For your sake and the defendents." She regained her normal smile and shook her hand. "But other than that, good luck. Justice must be served, and I also don't beleive this case to be straight forward."
She sat back down and went into her bag, pulling out Volume two of Hellsing. She opened it on a page with the butler and showed it to Ben and Athena.
"You know... I beleive that our client is one of the characters from this manga... I mean, everything has to be inspired from somewhere... And besides, the name, the job and the murder weapon are all the same. It puzzels me so."

"No way!" Ben said, jerking forward and taking a closer look at the manga. "Man, that thought never even came to mind until now! But all of it fits!" He noticed that Athena was slightly confused by his reaction. He pointed at the butler. "This guy, the butler for the Hellsing family in the manga. His name is Walter C. Dornez! Not only that, his weapon of choice, piano wire!" His finger shifted to the panels where Walter was taking out dozens of ghouls with the wire. "All of this describes the murder, the defendant, everything!"

Athena pondered it. "It couldn't just be coincidence, I'd say."

"You don't think...Dornez was inspired to do this by the manga, do you?"

"We can't block out that possibility," Athena submitted. "But...it just fits too perfectly with Mr. Dornez. Ben." Ben lept to his feet, knowing the tone. "I want you to collect all of your Hellsing mangas and bring them to the office. I think I'll need to take a look at them."

Ben smiled. "I knew you'd come around to my interest."

"Don't get the wrong idea," she snapped. "I only need to learn more about this butler in the manga. That's all."

She smiled and nodded, but blushed slightly. "It was even worse that I have the slightest crush on the man..." She blinked and coughed. "But yes, I beleive, however unconventional this may sound... He was on a mission from his organization... He still refuses to tell me what it is, but I have my inkling."
She smiled and took a sip of her tea. "Luckily the research on my end isn't that bad due to knowing about the manga... But EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING matches to this guy."
She looked at the case files and widened her eyes a little at one of the other parts she had misread before.

"Seems like we still have some questions to ask Mr. Dornez," Athena thought to herself. "Ms. Edgeworth, it was nice chatting with you, but Ben and I have to go. And don't worry about the tea, well pay for it. It's the least we can do."

Ben looked at Athena, noticing her familar aura of focus, and followed with her lead. "Right, it was nice talking to you, Jadey!" Ben has a rather annoying tendency to add a 'y' to everyone's first name. "Don!" He shouted, trying to get the owner's attention. "Set the nice lady here up on my tab, will you?"

"Why certainly!", the man replied to her question, cheerful in every way. He turned his back in order to grab a small opaque paper, the same paper he used to pick up the muffin and place it on a plate. As he was preparing her order, she used this time to scan the room. People were in groups, discussing matters upon themselves. In truth, everyone seemed busy. A gentle thud on the counter brought back her attention. It was the mug of her order being placed in front of her. Turning towards the counter, the man spoke once more. "Here you go! Your free mocha! And your muffin is $0.75. You can pay when your ready to leave."

She smiled and reached for the cup, careful not to spill its contents. With muffin in hand, the man in leather proceeded to go to the kitchen, his item stealthily kept in one hand. She regretted not having a chance to say thank you but regained composure, thinking she would do so once he returned. Placing the cup's rim to her slightly opened lips, the aroma of chocolate and mocha swirled around her senses. The slight heat could be felt as she slowly pushed the cup upwards. A mixture of sweetness and heat dance around her mouth as she found contentment with her drink. Gently placing the cup on the counter, she reached her arm out to grab the sole muffin next to her. Then, a rather loud ringtone brought her attention towards her skirt's pocket. Inserting her hand into the cream skirt, she dug out a metallic pink sliding phone, it seem that was the source of the sudden noise. Steel Samurai, no less.

"Hello?" She greeted as she quickly brought the phone's receiver to her ear and placed the muffin back to its respective plate. A rather deep voice greeted her from the other side with an "Oi." The girl was rather surprised, immediately knowing who it was. "I didn't expect you to call. Hahaha. Isn't this long distance?" Saori laughed are her friend, candy pink hair bouncing slightly as she did. Youki was quite the penny-pincher when it came to numerous things. Phone calls were one of them.

"Jeez, aren't you glad to hear from me?", the girl on the other line joked. "So, how's it there?" It was a question wherein for once, Saori wasn't entirely sure on what to say. After being given a few seconds to think, she answered. "Hmm. It's... cold." Her tone of voice rather bland while stating this. She then remembered where she was. "But I found this really cute place. You guys should go here some time~"

She nodded and smiled "Why thankyou..." She sighed and looked through her records more, until she gazed out of the window in thought, looking to street and people walking on.
"You know... Is it okay if I come with you? I wish to know as much on this case as possible."
She smiled and just stared at them.

(You know, I think I may actually make this case a crossover roleplay, be looking out for the thread in a little while. x3 )

Don finished his muffin. Normaly he wouldn't do something like that but he hadn't eaten in a while and he was the only one working at that time.
After making sure there were no crumbs on his shirt he went back into the main room.
He noticed that the girl at the counter was talking on her phone so he kept on moving.
He went from table to table whiping them down and making sure the napkins were full.

Ben glanced over at Athena, with a look that said 'do you think it'd be alright?' Also, Athena could help but see a bit of pleading in his eyes. Dear god, was he smitten by this prosecutor?! Athena thought for a moment, then nodded.

"Alright, you can come. Though I'm not sure how he'll react with the prosecutor around."

"Probably won't change a thing," Ben suggested. "He's admitted to the guilt. I'd think that a prosecutor would only lighten his mood."

An odd thought, but possibly true, Athena thought. "Okay, I'll meet you down at the detention center. Come on, Ben."

Sklar had stolen Figgy's trademark red face. Tiptoeing into the shop, she wondered why she was here in the first place. Ten minutes on the job and she almost burned the place down. The only things that had brought her back were the two sketchbooks she had left on the table. One of them was full, so even the wrath of her new employer she would probably face was worth it. She tried to avoid eye contact as she grabbed her things.

Married to Don- Mom to Obby, Wassa, Gavinner, and someone whose name starts with a C... :P

Don saw Sklar walk in. He saw the red look on her face and knew she was embarrassed because of what had happened. He knew this was a delicate situation.
"Hey, everything OK?" Don asked her softly. He knew he had to show her that he wasn't upset.
"Everyone makes mistakes, I hope you don't let this hinder you from doing your job. Remember, you gotta keep moving forward!" He hoped that his little pep speech had helped.
