I am a roleplayer, and a Gamesmaster in Real life. (D&D nerd XD), But I have learnt a few things that carry on no matter what the RolePlay is.
What you say "In Character" can hurt people "Out of Character", so when you say what your character thinks, it can have literal complications. I'm gonna use a game example and compare it to here.
'During one campaign, we were joined by a player who none of us particularly liked, ( I kinda tolorate hime though), and for most of the adventure, the other players played tricks on his character, not the real player. Things like binding him so he couldn't be involved in a fight, threatening to feed him to a sea monster, etc, but the real world comlication was that he was nolonger having any fun, he was upset that we were continually mocking and abusing his character.
He left and I doubt he's played since.'
Now, I compare this to PhoenixTears, who has been, not so much mistreated like above, but has had his feelings broken, which is quite worse in many ways. Iris and Aviv, being together, is making him quite sad, possibly cause he wanted a relationship like that. So whre does the line of Roleplay/RealLife meet? They don't, the are connected, because no matter what character you are playing, YOU are playing them, YOU ave an emotional connection to your charcter, which is why it hurts when this sort of thing happens.
In terms of marriage, I'll firstly congradulate Aviv and Iris, Console PhoenixTears and Suihou (who will be on again May 6th if her Idol message is to be believed), and tell you some more ranty stuffs.
I am Married to Lilith, and I'll tell you what, I proposed to her because she seemed so sad, and because I had RPed with her a couple of times. I honestly didn't know her that well, but now we are really really close, we're really good friends now, with a scary amount of things in common with each other. But What I want to bring in here was that I was not the first to propose to her, and she was scared at first because she was rejected 3 times. She had a feeling of fear, which I helped her to overcome.
What I'm getting across here now is that a good relationship requires communication, connection and caring. If you don't have those, then no relationship, online or no, will work out for you.

I just have to say that I'm glad to have you as a son in-lay Nat.

I agree that real feelings do get into these RPs. Noone actually proposed to me, but I kinda knew who Gustice was and I married him anyway. And we have loads in common... Like book reading and poor concentration XD
