"How should I know? I'm just glad that video game fanatic is dead..." the female scientist flicked back her hair, glaring at her partner. "But did you see her? The one? The mayor's daughter?"
"Of course I did... We'll have to tread lightly," the male scientist who was working with the female on a project replied, pouring the contents of one vial into a half-full vial. There was an explosion and when the smoke had subsided, the liquid was a bright crimson.
"We're not in our comfort zone anymore. But we never were. This was always an ambitious project... And we are so, so far away from victory," the woman sighed. "Our goal was to modify humans to be immortal... But look at what we have done. We have strayed far from her goal. We have modified the appearance of humans, not their lifespans!"
"Of course... But that is just our branch, is it not?" the man replied. The woman smiled softly.
"Indeed. Now let us return to our research," the woman replied.

"Skylar, wake up! Wake up! Skylar!!!" he yelled as he shook her, trying to wake her up. One look at his face, and one could tell he was extrmely worried. He continued to shke her, hoping that she would wake up soon.
Rafiel noticed Skylar fainting and quickly flew over to where she and Axel were. He began to sing in the strange langue he spoke when he sang. His beautiful voice was heard loud and clear in the tunnel. How long did he sing? No one knew. Time seem to have stoped around them.
"Skylar......... please wake up......" Axel muttered diring Rafiel's song.

"HOLY FUCK!" Paying no attention to her colleagues, she sprang to her feet and ran out the town and into the tunnels. Dragon-Wolf, who was trotting into the town after finding Skylar's lost money, when seeing Skylar shoot past, he dropped the money and bounded after her. Skylar raced back into the old abandoned building and stood on the ladder for a second, pausing, considering how to do this, but then she jumped up.

Axel too followed Zex and Skylar. As he ran, or followed, he remained quiet. He ran, ready to engage in battle at a momments notice. He was prepared for anything.
Exept for that.
He stopped running and finally spoke.
"I........ don't know and I DEFENETLY don't wanna find out. And also, you shouldn't talk about those kinds of things when he's around...." he whispered pointing at Rafiel. "Remember, he's a seven-year-old....."
Rafiel just stared at them, completely unaware of what they were talking about.

As he heard the scientists words, Rafiel fell on his knees. He had been locked in that place for years. He hadn't seen sunlight in ages. He hadn't smalled fresh air in a long time. And now, he never would. In his momment of despair, he spoke very softly, but loud enough for the scientist to hear.

"Ah, sorry..." Skylar blushed.
"It's nothing. I WAS shooting to kill... You deserve the right to defend yourself," Sadiki replied softly. "Now that the formalities are over, I'd like to introduce you to my family." Sadiki placed two fingers in her mouth and whistled loudly. Howls and cries of various animals echoed throughout the tunnels then a bunch of animals made their way over to Sadiki.
"This is my family. Well, not my biological, but these are all my favourite test subjects. They've proven how well our research is going. They are truly inspirational, especially Arachna, the spider. Here she is..." Sadiki pointed to a large spider that was about the size of Dragon-Wolf. Skylar shrieked and jumped back, cowering in fear. She hated spiders.
